I needed some lawn work done and messaged a bunch of local companies on yelp. Elizabeth from New Blossoms came out and gave me by far the most competitive quote. She and her crew came out a week and a half later (lots of rain in between) leveled my front lawn, added new sod and cleaned up the bushes. We had been using a larger company based in Evanston and continued to have substantial delays to inquiries along with promises to take care of matters which were not taken care of. I had enough and contacted New Blossoms to give them a shot and Elizabeth came personally to review the project/request and the quote was much more reasonable that I was used to. In addition, the workers did a much better job than any of the prior times I had used the other company during the past 3 years. The price is reasonable and the service is outstanding. Given that we are going to be spending a lot more time in our backyard than usual, it was time to clean it up and re-sod. Since we moved in 5 years ago, we had moved a shed and concrete, and our backyard was unkempt, uneven, full of tree roots, splotchy and had areas without grass. Elizabeth was the first person to contact me after requesting quotes from several companies, and the first one to come to look at our yard. She was so friendly, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable about what could be done and pricing. The quote she gave me to re-sod the yard, edge, add rocks, trim trees, etc. was cheaper than a random landscape company had said they could just do the sod for. Due to Covid and rainstorms the work got pushed back, but that showed that Elizabeth and her team were committed to all customers and finishing their work appropriately. The gentlemen who worked on my yard were lovely, friendly, and super helpful. They did great work and were respectful and accommodating. Some of the sod that was laid quickly looked bad, and Elizabeth assured me they guarantee their sod and would replace it, and they did immediately on the last day of the project. But it is super reassuring to know that if any of the sod doesn't grow right over the next weeks, Elizabeth's team will replace it and fix it, and will care for it as I am going to use their weekly affordable lawn service. During the job Elizabeth stopped by multiple times each day, making sure all was going according to plan. Any time I had a concern I called or texted her and she immediately responded. That provides a great sense of confidence for a customer. In addition Elizabeth's sister and co-owner Maria stopped by, and I found both sisters so lovely to interact with and I was so happy to be supporting a women owned business. Go girls! I was amazed at the affordable price that New Blossom's was able to offer - I thought that I would not be able to do all the work I wanted in my backyard. I kept it simple, and the sod was most important, but you can see from my photographs that their work was wonderful. Utterly disappointed. Estimating process was painful. Quote missed things I specifically called out during walk through when they finally made it out to my home I.e. Mulch, rocks, grading. Things that WERE included in my quote like removal of dirt/lawn debris was not done! Weather was not cooperating early/mid May but they still came out on two days when it was too wet to work. They did the opposite of what I told them to do - had to remind them over 5 times (owner and workers) of what was still left to do. Quality of work is not the best. It was a hot day and the company had COVID-19 cases - which such circumstances more communication/explanation is required. I definitely overpaid for the work done. read more

This company came a week ago to give an estimate. I was told that an estimate would be emailed by two days after their visit (which I found odd). Never heard from them again. Our property is small, and perhaps they felt that any work we required wouldn't be lucrative enough for them to take on. If so, the courtesy' of informing us of that would have been appreciated. I'm finding these lawn care companies are some of the sketchiest run companies I've ever encountered. They really could use some regulating to protect consumers. read more

Everything was great. The crews that have come to my house have been great; friendly and sometimes talking through decisions. New Blossoms is the perfect blend of knowledgeable and listener -- I had ideas of what I wanted, and they made my ideas happen in realistic ways! I love everything they've done.
