My 2019 "Business of the Year" award goes to Salvador's Landscaping. This family-run business has been handling our routine lawn care and snow removal for nearly 3 years now. I've contracted other local companies to perform this service in past years with varying results, but this one is superior by far. Salvador himself is friendly and knowledgeable. Communication (by email) has been excellent, and his crew is most reliable and accommodating. Salvador's talents and skills, though, go much further than routine maintenance. If you need shrubs or trees planted, he is brimming with suggestions and options, and you can count on him to do a great job. But he is truly a master at landscape design and brick paving. Our deteriorating driveway and sidewalks needed replacement, so this past summer we contracted Salvador to redesign the landscaping in front of our home and install Unilock brick pavers. From start to finish in just two weeks' time, our property went from resembling a home "on the other side of the tracks" to a showplace that draws compliments from neighbors. The Missus and I are absolutely delighted with Salvador's superb work and his attention to detail.

I just want to preface this by saying, I'm a residential contractor, specializing in bathrooms and kitchens. I usually only review businesses when they are bad or exceptionally good. Salvador's Landscaping is exceptionally good! I was looking to get my front concrete sidewalk, stairs, and fence/gate done at my home. I called many landscape companies and left messages to call me back. Believe it or not, Maria, from SL, was the only one to return my call and set up a date for Salvador to give an estimate. From the time I met Salvador, I knew he knew his stuff and was very prideful of his work; showing me pictures of his most recent projects. We talked a bit and shared stories of each other's trade; he's a very nice guy. After we agreed on the work to be done and cost of project, I waited patiently for the start date. I was a bit concerned because the weather was not cooperating; 90 degree temps with bouts of torrential rain. But, true to his word, he came on the start date and waited in the trucks for the rain to stop. Salvador and his team worked tirelessly and did such a terrific job; he was mindful of many details I did not think of. After 4 days, while dealing with normal complications and weather issues, Salvador and his team gave my wife and I a beautiful new entrance to our home. We were extremely pleased. Thank you Salvador, Maria, and the whole team!

Salvador and his crew are extremely hard working. Detailed work. Went above and beyond. Prices extremely fair.

Highly recommended!! Salvador and his team were amazing---from the constant communication with Maria to meticulously placing each paver. Salvador supported us through a total rehab of our back patio and sidewalk---removing old pavers/concrete and installing new pavers, steps, retaining walls (for garden beds and a tree), underground drainage pipes, river rock and an arborvitae hedge. Water management was our #1 concern. Salvador was very knowledgeable/experienced in this area and was flexible with our vision but provided straight feedback when he had concerns and even proposed better suggestions than we had imagined. Salvador's care, attention-to-detail and pride in his work is second to none---and this is reflected in the beauty of his craftsmanship. We live on an alley so our patio project became the neighborhood entertainment for the week. We received so many compliments from neighbors and some neighbors were so impressed they even signed up Salvador to redo their patios! Thank you, Salvador! We are so happy with our new backyard and can't wait to enjoy it all summer!! We look forward to working with you on future projects.

Loved working with Salvador and the team over here; first-class pros front-to-back. We had met with a number of other landscaping companies who were trying to sell us everything from in-ground irrigation systems to expensive planters, and we wanted simple, modern and sustainable. Sal met with me on a Sunday, talked about his vision and how we could bring ours to life, talked us out of hairbrained ideas and gave us a price that was unbeatable. Not only did they nail our "front yard", but also the sod, the mulch and added a new brick walkway to the street to match our building color. They were very communicative and showed up on time and spent so much time and effort getting this right. Honestly not sure where the negative reviews are from but we are totally on board and would use them again in a heartbeat!

Recently one of the vases has become loose. I've tried to reach out to Kapsa a few times. No one ever answers the phone. I've left 3 messages in over a week and half stating my issue and asked for the favor of a reply. I've yet to hear back from Kapsa. This monument wasn't cheap. I've reached out to two other monument companies in the area in the meantime and they are willing to help but say Kapsa should stand behind their business and take care of this. If they can or can't, either way the courtesy of a reply is expected for such an expensive monument. I can't rate them good in the service area as they are non responsive.

They will intentionally and purposely omit IMPORTANT and KEY things from the contract, and this can screw you in the end. When I caught these items, owner refused to correct them. Here they are: 1.) They verbally said that ALL inscriptions and design are included in the price, but when you get the contract it does not say this, and when you ask the owner to add, he refuses. Don't ever sign the contract unless they clearly write in text that ALL inscriptions and design are included in the headstone price, just like they verbally say. 2.) Draft of the drawing, design, and inscriptions was not attached. How else will you know what the heck you are getting?!?!? Don't accept without this! 3.) Full names of the deceased were omitted. This contract is also combined into the application for the cemetery. Are we just trying to get the cemetery office to guess? 4.) Memorialist didn't sign the cemetery contract on the back, which is required before you can even place any headstone in the cemetery. The cemetery has its own rules which we all have to agree to. We don't own the cemetery. These are all normal procedures for all cemeteries. 5.) Approximate date of delivery was missing. You can't just put a season like spring or summer. The owner was very disrespectful. When trying to resolve this in a calm manner, he talked over me. I tried talking to the owner nicely on the phone, but all he did was hang up on me. Avoid this business, and go to others in the area that will: actually put in writing what they say verbally, are willing to actually fill out a contract completely, and treat you with respect. After all, if you are paying them thousands of dollars for a headstone, I would think that you would at least have the above taken care of. This place is absolutely awful. STAY AWAY.

They were under contract to spot tuck-point an entire wall but instead they only did the top of the wall and then claimed that the work was completed. When confronted about the rest of the wall, they repeatedly lied saying they did the entire wall and said that I was seeing shadows. Only after producing photos (I attached a few photos) of gaping holes did they grudgingly get back on the wall to complete the job. They said "ugh, I guess we missed a few spots" Unless you plan on babysitting them throughout the project, I do not recommend them.

They have unapologetically taken over part of my yard without discussing it with me. I know the city of Chicago can be difficult to work with, based on communication with the building owner it seems like Webb doesn't know how to get permitting etc in a timely manner. Your contractors ability to work within Chicago's permitting process is an important factor. It is my sincere opinion that based on the lack of work for this very large project Webb has bit off more than they can chew. I think it is very important to hire a company who knows their capabilities. After discussion with other construction professionals I have been told there is absolutely no reason this project should be taking this long unless the contractor is not capable of the work or they accept projects they do not have the time to work on. If timeliness and expertise in how to manage a project in Chicago is important to you I would look past Webb Masonry and onto another.

It took them about 6 months to finally finish off one piece of our work. In the end, they did follow through and we're now happy. We'll consider using them again but we learned our lesson: do not pay the final bill until after all work is done.
