I order a simple 2 green tea shots and the waitress is like staring at me. And I'm repeating my order and she started making clicking noises with her mouth bopping her head like she tweaking. I ask her how much it will be and completely ignores me. She's definitely giving under the influence vibes. I'm like shouldn't be more than 20 dollars. NO I was charged 25 dollars for 2 green tea shots in a plastic shot cup. 45 mins and we were down 45 dollars place was gross af and the green tea shot tasted like straight sour mix.. I kept tripping over a step they had to get to booths that were elevated. Full bar, good prices, a great place to see a band. The ladies restroom has 2 stalls, and they're crammed in there so tight that they had to put saloon swinging doors on the stalls. Very awkward to use. Parking is awful. Many show up early and start the line that winds around the building so be ready for that. Rain, shine or snow! Haven't ordered any food here through all the concerts we've been to but have purchased a few cocktails and beers and the prices are reasonable for a venue like this. Cheaper than an arena that's for sure! The lights and sometimes the pyro that is allowed here is top notch. Mixed with the sound that rocks your chest (depending on the band of course), you get your money's worth. All of the ones we've been too have "gone over the specified time". Whatever that means, we're enjoying it. Whether it's the FIlmore's doing or the band's doing by feeding off of the crowd's energy, we'll always stick around longer!

We started out with Happy Hour at The Fillmore Detroit Bar for food and a refreshing drink. The bar is the former State Bar. It is a cool place to chill and the service was very quick. I had a Watermelon Lemonade Riffresher, chicken tenders and fries. It was an excellent venue for us to hear from author Kamala Harris to talk about her new book, 107 Days. She was delivering a message on her short road to the presidential campaign and the state of affairs today that have many U. S. Citizens feeling emotionally hijacked....but I digress. This was a great opportunity to experience in such a beautiful venue. It truly reminded me of a more intimate Fox Theatre.

It was dimly lit and the lighting was yellow and purple. There are booths to sit in and some smaller circle tables. My only room for suggestion is to add some square or rectangle tables for larger parties. Parking is free and easy on the street, and both the staff and the patrons were genuinely friendly. I also appreciated the metal detector at the entrance for an added sense of security. The drink selection is great, with plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Prices are very reasonable and service is quick. Rob behind the bar was especially kind. The acoustics are impressive for a smaller venue. There are plenty of spots to stand and adjust the volume to your comfort level. I don't typically wear earplugs, but given the size of the space and the quality of the sound, it's worth considering. Everything is GA, so you can get as close--or as far--as you'd like. Bathrooms are clean and conveniently located near the front door. Ticket prices are very fair. I wasn't able to find a way to skip the service fee with buying at the venue box office, so I ended up purchasing through their online system. Even with the fee, it's still cheaper than most concerts you'll see.
