I have mixed feelings about this place. If you are one of those unfortunate souls who has nothing better to do but read all of my reviews, you know by now that poor interior lighting in restaurants is a pet peeve of mine. Waking into a dimly lit restaurant immediately colors my view of the place. I arrived around 7:30 and the sun was still out, yet it was rather dark inside this place. It took me a few minutes to figure out what the causes were. First, there were vertical blinds on the front windows that were partially closed (even though that side of the building was facing away from the sun). Second, the light bulbs in the light fixtures were recessed way too far up into their fixtures. The fixtures were designed for flood lamp style bulbs, but had old CFL bulbs designed for a lamp like you might have on an end table in your home. Switching to LED flood lamp type bulbs would greatly enhance the lighting, and the cost wouldn't be very much. The ceiling tiles had large water stains on them. I'm guessing this facility is leased and the owner is not maintaining the roof as they should be. I don't want to fault the restaurant proprietors for this, since it is likely out of their control. In spite of the poor lighting, the water damaged ceiling, and some torn spots in the wallpaper, the decorations hanging on the wall were very clean and free of dust. The buffet islands seemed nice enough, though there were some rope lights around the perimeter that were not functional. I found that a little odd. The dish labels were handwritten and while legible, did not always reflect what food was in the dish below it. On to the food. I tried the sesame chicken, and it was dry and chewy. The cream cheese rangoons were also dry. The white rice tasted good and fairly fresh, and the hot and sour soup was just the right mix of hot and sour. I tried some cookies and cream ice cream for dessert, and it was quite good. The glass of water I drank was wet and didn't smell or taste bad. I noticed that most of the buffet dishes seemed to be low on food. I suspect that this place sees a rush of business around 5:00 and that the food I had was the leftovers from that dinner rush. Overall, it wasn't terrible. As a person who travels a ton for work, I have encountered worse. But I do feel that the price was on the high side for the quality of the food. Dry, chewy chicken is a pretty negative thing to experience at a Chinese buffet. As a side note, Yelp recommends adding a comment about service. I'm not sure what to put for that. This is a buffet which is self service, even the drinks. The plates, glass, and silverware were all clean and plentiful, so I guess that counts as good service. The buffet islands didn't have spilled food all over them, which would indicate that the staff cleans them regularly. One of the employees was mopping the floor while I ate, which shows that they keep the floors clean. So, I would say for a self service buffet, the service was quite acceptable. read more

Unequivocally the worst Chinese food we've eaten. We ordered delivery to our hotel and it did arrive fresh and steaming hot. The sweet & sour chicken and sweet & sour shrimp were separate from the sauce, but there were puddles of oil in the bottom of the foil pan. The oil they were fried in tasted old and left a greasy feel and taste in my mouth well after the meal was thrown away. Breading on the chicken was extremely thick and doughy- we were pulling it off. The chicken seemed to be precooked prior to breading? I dunno, it wasn't good. The shrimp breading was light and crisp, but the oil taste was overpowering. The white rice was mushy. Most disappointing of all was the order of 10 crab Rangoon. Rather than a cream cheese filling, they had what I believe was a pork dumpling filling- it was gray, firm, and meat based, whatever it was, which wasn't good. None of us finished our meal and it was thrown away. :( read more

I like the New China Buffet. Of course my question is always where is Old China Buffet? My favorite is the pepper chicken. Make sure you get their earlier in the lunch/dinner cycle for the best food. Take-away is really good and cheap. Better than fast food and cheaper than fast food. read more

Pretty typical Midwest Chinese buffet nothing spectacular but it was edible. And honestly I think it was a little pricey

Average price for a Chinese buffet. Decent food selections. It wasn't busy at all so the service we received was above expectations.

I will keep this short and simple. This place is a crap hole, don't come here. Most of the food was overcooked from the start and then had the chance to dry out. The hot sauce they had on the side seemed to have coffee grounds in it... or at least that is what it tasted like. The tables were not clean... okay, it's a Chinese buffet so you don't expect white tablecloths and sparking eating utensils, but my God, at least put some effort into cleaning. Walking up to the front of building and the entryway front glass doors were dirty. They weren't dirty from a day but probably never have been cleaned. Lobby upon entry looked the same...not attended to. The interior seemed clean as was the buffett area. Immediately we had waiter and drink orders. The food was adequate but typical China Buffet. I did not like the egg drop soup but everything else was good. Always love the ice cream soft serve but the rest of desserts could be gone (except Chinese donuts...those are amazing!). This place is gross. Food was cold, silverware was filthy, floors were dirty, and the service was nonexistent. The owners are pacing around the tables and have a bad habit at staring at folks when they eat, which made my family and dinner guest feel uneasy. We won't be going back to this establishment despite our fondness for Chinese fare. read more

Pretty horrible Chinese. Arrived a little after lunch and food was cold stale and crusty. Didn't have a lot of selection as a lot of pans were completely empty with a nice shiny metal pan just sitting there. Was hoping they would refill food and give us some fresh stuff but had no such luck. Waiter came by once to ask if I wanted a refill but didn't pick up our plates or anything. Not worth the money at all and will never return. Ice cream was the best thing there and that's saying a lot. read more

Good place for a quick lunch on our road trip. Food was fresh and hot. Also, a good selection.

My family and sister and her husband ate there yesterday. I was excited to try the food here. we all had buffet. I cant even begin to describe the disappointment in the food. Cold, dry, hard, over cooked, over priced, . Coconut shrimp-- this was just fried batter. I never found a piece of shrimp at all. It was so hard and over done as was most of the food. The shrimp was the same. several of the dishes were almost empty. Our water was not refilled, nor were we asked if everything was alright. the crab ragoon had a strange taste. The price was over $10 for a meal; definitely not worth the time or money. We left the restaurant hungrier than when we came. read more

I didn't go there until around 2:00 in the afternoon, and all the food was cold and overcooked by then from sitting in the warmers. The staff/owners were having some kind of family gathering in the meeting room with children crying....etc. This isn't my first time there, but it will be my last. They have a tip jar at the checkout counter. What am I tipping? service? they sat me at my table and asked me what I wanted to drink, then I never saw them again.
