I think this restaurant may have once again changed ownership. Over the past year or so, there seems to be a diminished interest in quality and service. The food is generally okay, but noticeably lesser. I still like their Egg Rolls, the Subgum Wonton, and their Wonton soup is really good, as are the Singapore Noodles. Lately though I find that the carrot slices in stir fry dishes are cut thicker than with previous cooks and are thereby more raw - if that's your thing, great! It's just not mine. And some of the other dishes I've ordered have been less tasty. Also, I would suggest never ordering anything with "crab". I don't know if the distributor that services them only offers this one crab substitute, but it's bleeding terrible. read more

This is my second & last time coming to this place. I paid $28.50 for Mongolian beef, small shrimp fried rice & 1 egg drop soup. When I walked in I had a hard time waking up the little girl sitting at the front counter. When she woke she was irritated that I had the audacity to wake her. The people at the back had an attitude when I asked how much because I felt it was a bit pricy. They don't offer combos or meals. I ordered a Lunch Special Chicken lo mein and was told it was because I ordered a small order so it had small pieces of chicken was not worth the price not matter what size it should have been more meat in it I come to the restaurant for years and the food is good I am just surprised that it wasn't that big plate you don't put enough chicken in it. read more

I've ordered from this place a few times Dinner Delivered. I stopped by on my way home from work the other day to pick something up. I've had the General Tso's Chicken and it's very good. This time I ordered teriyaki chicken. It was way too sweet. Not like any other teriyaki I've ever had. I wouldn't order that again. I've also had their lo mein and wasn't a big fan of it either. Easily the best Chinese Takeout within the Chattanooga area. We've ordered takeout from here about 10 times and everything is above average (except for the chicken teriyaki, way too sweet). This use to be my got to restaurant and the food was always so yummy, hot and fresh. The old owners would make any dish I wanted with white meat and I don't mean they took the sweet and sour chicken and put a different sauce on it. They would cook it just like it was suppose to be. I came in after the ownership changed hands and ask if they could make it with white meat and was told no so I left. So upsetting because they really do have the best food but I can not bring myself to eat dark meat. read more

I had been craving shrimp with lobster sauce for a couple of weeks, so, sitting in the mall parking lot after shopping, I found New China's website and decided to just order for pickup so that it would be ready by the time I got over there. The price for SLS seemed somewhat high to me, but I figured what the hell, I order from them only once or twice a year, and yesterday was payday. I selected it, but when I went to check out, I was told nope, they have a minimum order amount. For takeout?! Oh, okay, I thought, I'll order a couple of appetizers or sides. Then I have to "prove I'm not a robot." I gave them my phone number and they said they'd text me a 3-digit confirmation code. I waited. No text. So I decided to just drive on over. Walked in, looked at the printed menu. The entree was $3 less than what the website said. Not only that, but the printed menu also had a combo option (SLS + fried rice + eggroll), which came to the same amount as the single entree on their website. So despite this being the 21st century and me clearly being a relic, it's still a better option in cases like this to do it the old-school way and just drive over and get your food. I will give this restaurant a 5-star based on freshness of the food, presentation, price per portion, customer service , cleanliness of the restaurant and taste. Due to all of these I've decided to give it a five-star. Their lunch menu starts at $4.85 and I have to say you get a pretty large portion with that including fried rice or white rice.. this has been the most affordable good quality Chinese food in this area I have yet to find. I order from the main menu, the tofu and vegetables with white rice. From the lunch specials I got, chicken lo mein and kung pao chicken. The tofu and vegetables with white rice was excellent! fresh ingredients, great tasting Savory brown sauce and pure 100% jasmine rice. The Kung Pao chicken was also excellent it was pieces of chicken with peppers onions chest water nuts and peanuts in a beautiful combined Brown / chili sauce perfectly balanced and very savory with hints of sweetness. The chicken lo-mein came with a side of vegetable fried rice. This dish was delicious the noodles were authentic and the flavor was basic but accurate all alone this is an amazing steal for lunch. read more

Best Chinese food in the area. This is my go to place in a pinch. It's typical Chinese food, nothing spectacular, but good. The only thing I will say is one of the young girls taking orders is quite rude and actually hit her mom with a metal pot in the face when I was in there. I asked her to chill out. This used to be my go-to place for Chinese takeout, but as the prices have gone up, the quality has gone down. It seems that each of the last few times I went there I got hardly any chicken or shrimp in my dish, and the last time I went the shrimp was still cold - it hadn't been heated properly.
