Tried it out last week, just on the off chance that it was related to the New China Restaurant in Corcoran, & just to try a new place. It was very clean. Beautiful even. I loved their tables! Want one for my house. Lol! The service was on point, but then again we were the only people in the place (which scared us). The prices are very reasonable. And they get a bonus for serving Coke! The food was good, but not as good as Corcoran's New China. In all honesty if I'm in Visalia & craving chinese I will drive the extra few miles to Kow Loon on Mineral King. Kow Loon's decor is no where near as nice, but the food is definitely better. All in all, this New China is ok, hence the four stars, but it's just not a place that I would actually crave. read more

In Tulare for the weekend with my son for a Basketball tournament. Tulare didn't seem to have very many options. Did a Yelp search and ended up at New China in Visalia. Good portions. Nice clean restaurant with excellent service. Had the salt and pepper Calamari, orange chicken, and chow mein. Son claims it is the best orange chicken ever. read more

I can't believe I just found this place! After 3 visits, I'm hooked. The food is awesome and the service is great. We took a group of 8 last night and out server handled it very well. She was sweet, offered us suggestions and made sure we had anything we wanted. The portions are HUGE!!!! All 8 of us brought home enough for a few more meals. read more

Being a first timer, I was so excited to try this place. There were 2 families ahead of me, and we were able to order our food as soon as the waitress was done taking their orders. I had been waiting for about 45 minutes and in that time 4 different families came in after I did AND were receiving their food before me! Quality of service was AWFUL. I'm new to the area and came across this Chinese food restaurant. I order to go, so didn't get to experience the customer service side as much. But the food was delicious. Everything was well cooked and seasoned. I tried the broccoli and beef along with the Mongolian beef. Both were good. I am highly satisfied with the food. Hot and great tasting. read more

The restaurant is in a shopping center and looks kinda bland from the outside. But the atmosphere on the inside is fabulous--and the food is even better. The prices are comparable around town but I find this to be some of the best Chinese food in town. My family agreed that they are going back as well. We have a few Chinese Restaurants in Visalia that are good enuff to eat at, this is one of them. Years ago there was one called the Pagota now that was the best ever. So far can't find one as good as the Pagota was. Were still looking hope to find a excellent one again. As far as New China the service is good and the food is good, they have changed it a few things now the broccoli don't taste like vinegar anymore, so that's a plus for me. We had lunch here today, the House special rice and House special chow mein was so good , very tasty, they give plenty of chicken, shrimp and pork in their dishes. We also had the BBQ pork it had great flavor and very moist. The hot mustard is the best we have found in Tulare Co. . We will be eating here again soon. read more

Do NOT go during their dinner rush hour. We usually eat lunch here and order take out. The food is usually very good. No complaints on the food tonight, but the service was HORRIBLE. It took 15 minutes to sit us because tables were dirty, only 2 ladies working. I had to be flagging down the waitress to order, to ask for a refill (which never came, had to ask again) and ask about our soups. She never once checked on us. I finally received my food, but my husband got his 15 minutes later. I think I could have been a little more understanding if the waitress had not been so rude to us and other customers. Veey dissapointed with the service. Called in for a take out order and arrived 25 minutes later. The lady waited on tables, took calls, and cashiered all while I waited for my order, which she was aware of. She asked me if I had a pick up order first thing when i walked in. This is as good as it gets in the central valley ( haven't tried anything in Fresno yet)! Almost as good as some of the Chinese food in the Ventura county area. They use fresh vegetables and they do not skimp by any means. The food is not greasy and it has tons of flavor. It was a scary transition moving to the central valley and seeing so called Chinese food. This was a nice reminder that there are a few gems locally. Very clean restaurant and very attentive service. Favorite Asian food place in the valley, I order the teriyaki chicken every time and it tastes the same every single time. Never busy so we sit down as soon as we get there, the 2 waitresses seem to recognize who we are every time so that's nice. read more

This place has middle of the road Americanized Chinese food. It is good and my wife likes the veggie selection but for me being Chinese it is OK Americanized Chinese food. BTW, don't order a glass of wine. They serve the cheapest wine they can find and over charge it. read more

I write this only after reading the other reviews about what a hidden gem this place is. I had the Kung Pao Chicken. I think they mixed up my order and brought me the celery chicken. Honestly, this place is okay. About 6 times too much celery in my Kung Pao, but everything was fine. Hidden gem, not by a long shot. Might be rude to compare Chinese to Thai food but what ever. In VIsalia, my favorite asian cuisine is still Davorns Place or Keoh Thip. read more

They must have change the chef because the last 6 months I been to this restaurant off and on, food was definitely not the same when compare to a year ago. Greasy, soggy veggies, or covered with heavy gravy. Thought I give them one more chance. So I reserved a few tables weeks ahead of time in addition to speaking with manager in person on two occasions weeks in advance. It turned out on the day of our dinner we were totally ignore as customers; Both service and food was very bad. The food was not even hot.
