Craving Downtown Thai food in Visalia, this is the premiere spot for that particular meal. Usually pretty crowded, went at a good time... wasn't too busy. The staff is both helpful and friendly. Whatever you decide to order, it's sure to be delicious. Spicy level is 1-5; 5 being the hottest. I did have to wait a bit for a table, but it was the lunch rush, so that was understandable. I had high expectations for the food, and they did not disappoint. Davorn's Restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat. I first tried them when they were across the street in the small location. Now the new location is nice and has more room. And there seems to always be waiting time to be seated. But once you're seated it's all worth the wait. Stopped by on our way to Sequoia/Kings Canyon: Awesome Thai food! My family loved their spring rolls and yellow curry especially. They also have Vietnamese and Japanese food. Had lunch with my mom and sister at this spot. I'd been before and enjoyed it so had to bring more people. It was just as good as the last time. Service was a little faster this time as well. To start I had a Thai tea and it was the best I've ever had. I could tell right off the bat the color was perfect. It was more brown than orange and the flavor was PERFECT. For app we shared the spring rolls. They were very good and fresh. The sauce was on the spicier side but still good. My only feedback is that on the menu it says 2 pieces so we ordered 2 because there were 3 of us but really it's 2 rolls cut in half to make 4 good sized pieces. For entrees we had the panang curry chicken, string beans beef, and spicy noodles pork. The curry was amazing. So creamy and flavorful and loaded with veggies and protein. I used to come here regularly when they first opened many years ago. Back then, the food was excellent, the menu was small but well-executed, and everyone was treated the same. It felt special. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Prices have gone up significantly, but the quality hasn't kept up. We ordered chow mein and were served what tasted like stir-fried Mama noodles instead. We ordered fried tofu, fried shrimp, fried chicken wings, spicy noodles, bamboo shoots curry, chicken chowmein, sun kissed sushi & margarita mocktails. Everything was just perfect, totally kids approved as well! The service was very quick and thoughtful in consideration when our host, Jenny, mentioned she will take extra caution for shellfish allergies and add a note for vegan sauces to be on the safe side. Has to be my favorite restaurant in the area. This place can get busy but it is big enough to accommodate both small to larger groups. I love the Nem roll here, it's one of the better ones I've tried. The coconut curry is also really good. Something I love is you can order Lao but also get a sushi roll. read more

Im going to start off saying we really like the owner, and majority of the staff is super friendly. Overall our service has been very helpful, pleasant and help order when we have questions. There's a food variety of choices from the menu, we decided to get the Pad Thai and Korean chicken wings. Spicy lol, but so good! The dishes are so fresh, and they definitely give you as much as the dish cost. Highly recommend the pot stickers as well. Overall great ambiance, great food and much worth a visit! Took about 5 minutes to be seated, took exactly 6 minutes and 40 seconds for my waiter to take my order for drinks and food. The price of the food is pretty level, compared to bay area pricing for authentic food is a little high. The restaurant was not super busy for the time of the wait to be seated and to have my order taken. The lighting was pretty dim, very dark actually, bar was not super busy or active bartender serving drinks. They do have a bar area but it is not open seating so if solo you gotta wait for a table still. It took them about 6 minutes to bring my water and thai tea to me, my egg rolls came at the same time. My sushi roll came out 9 minutes after ordering. The sushi was a 9/10, the egg rolls were a 10/10 and i had ordered pad see eww which i never recieved. My waitress never came to check on me once throughout the whole dining experience. Overall the food was good, overprice, the service was a straight 0/10 if they can improve that then this place would get straight positive reviews. The peanut sauce that comes with it is both flavorful and a little spicy. We shared a plate of Eggplant Stir fry and Salt & Pepper chicken. Both were flavorful and ordered medium spicy. I have been coming to this place for many years and have loved the food, ambiance and customer service. However, a recent bad experience has changed my view on this place and I will not be going back. I called in an order for pick up (like I've done in the past many times). I ordered 3 pad see ew's. I pick up the order and drive home. When we sit done to eat and open the bag the whole order is wrong. I call the restaurant and long story short, the manager said she can't refund me the whole order, she can only offer a free pad see ew for my next order. I get it I could've checked my bag before I left. The girl who took my order should've done something else if she couldn't hear cause I repeated to her 3xs that I wanted pad see ews. As the saying goes, should've, would've, could've. But the manager not willing to give me a full refund, or to exchange the order for the right one is upsetting.
