We ordered the beef chow fun, shrimp lo mein, tofu with vegetables, and a sizzling seafood dish. The food came with free egg drop soup. When ordering I asked the waitress to make sure the tofu with vegetables was vegan, and she didn't seem to understand what that meant but told me it would be fine. The tofu dish was pretty flavorful with a nice variety of vegetables, and the rest of my family said their food tasted decent as well. I was hungry for Chinese and decided to give this restaurant a try. It's located right on the corner of Noble and Linwood (4 way stop light here). It can be a little confusing since there is a Mexican restaurant there also. The Mexican restaurant appeared to be out of business. The entrance and parking for the Chinese restaurant is on the Linwood side. The stop light makes it easy to get in and out of the parking lot. I ordered the beef with tomatoes and vegetables fried rice. Both were huge servings, I will get 3 meals out of my order. The beef with tomato was perfectly seasoned and had perfect proportions of beef to tomatoes. The veggies in the fried rice were perfectly cooked. Not overcooked or undercooked. Great variety of veggies in the rice. It doesn't look very inviting from the outside but don't let that stop you from giving this place a try. Their hospitality and food are well worth the stop. It had a clean healthy taste to it, not in a way that you get with fast food or cheaply made takeout. The staff were friendly and the food was made quickly (came out piping hot). Plus all staff was wearing masks. The food was good. We called in the order and it was ready in 15 minutes. The portions were large enough for two servings per combo order. The order was accurate. My last outing for takeout gave me a stomach ache. I always get enough for the next day. So, sick for three days. Not bad sick, but something was off in the taste of one item. A nice little gem near right by hwy 198. I came here with some friends and we were not disappointed. You should definitely try their salt and pepper calamari and honey walnut shrimp! If you're craving some soup, try out their egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. They were so good that we ordered a container to go after dining in. It's a small mom and pop shop so wait times were about 15-25 minutes during rush hour, but it was well worth the wait. The server was nice and accommodating. read more

Here's the truth, the Central Valley, especially Tulare Co. has some of the best Chinese restaurants in the entire state. Yes, including in Chinatown's (LA or SF) bland tourism food. This spot is just another example of what makes Chinese food in this area so special. It's called BIG FAVORS! OMG, I have to say the egg food young is the best I've ever had (PERIOD). We love the pork chow fun, salt pepper chicken, or shrimp. The Mongolian Beef is out of this world as well. Also, you're eating 2 minutes after you sit, terrific service! Orange chicken wasn't bad, but the beef and broccoli wasn't good and tasted like tires. (?) I got the teriyaki chicken and it definitely didn't taste fresh, or even like chicken for that matter. These hardworking folks are still open for business with takeout orders! This week, my family remembered loving New Star and wanted to support them during the virus outbreak so we called in an order. We drove over and our meal was ready and waiting within 20 minutes. The eggrolls were nice and crispy, the sweet and sour chicken was tangy and flavorful, the shrimp fried was super piping hot and delicious, the pork w/ snow peas was balanced and tender and the beef chow fun (everyone's favorite) was perfectly seasoned. My brother took me out to dinner the other night. I had been craving some Chinese food and this place was recommended by our sister. Lets begin with how cute this little place is. Very small and cozy. The entrance has a fish tank with a beautiful, very photogenic, fish.( Id go back just to visit the little dude!) When we arrived there weren't many people but as time went on it filled up nicely, this was a good sign. The waitress was new so we had patience with her however I don't believe the girl training her had much. The food was absolutely amazing! The soup was clean and delicious. The pot stickers could have used more veggies in them but very generous portions. The only reason I'm not giving this place a five star rating is because I waited so long to get my food my brother finished his meal before I even got started. I noticed that the plates didn't come out all at once to each table. They kind of randomly trickled in. My plate was given to another table and this caused even more confusion.
