Problem is the WiFi is not reliable. the best place to access their WiFi is downstairs (away from the nice view and the quiet study area). And sometimes, it doesn't work so well down there either. Also, you can't get a library card if you live out of town. Maybe that's a standard for libraries, I can't say. But you can't access their computers without a library card. In short, it's a very nice library to get some quiet time to read and get work done. But you're going to need to use your own hotspot access if you want to read books on your Kindle or IPad. I sincerely hope they fix this and join everyone in the 21st century. Until then, the New York Sports Club in the same shopping center has WiFi... but it's not quiet there in the least. :-/

They never smile back and stare at you in a very uncomfortable way as you're entering the library. The librarians are always kind and helpful. They offer different programs on Tuesdays for children, including Zumbini, Music Together, concerts, story hour and music/stories. It's wonderful. I might be wrong, but I get the vibe that if you are not of a certain skin complexion or from the same area, then expect to be treated differently. This is mostly a predominantly white area and they like to stick to their own cliques and people and will let you know that you don't belong there. At least that's the vibe I get every time I visit. Of course it's subtle prejudice and you can't really call them out on it because there is no evidence. No evidence, no crime. But you will feel like a second class citizen if you visit this library. If you think there is nothing wrong and are used to the way you are treated here, I recommend you to visit other libraries in the area and see how much better of an experience you have when you visit there. Don't take my word for it. Experience it yourself! At the end of the day , its still a public library and we can't expect all libraries to be equally good, but it's just sad knowing that our tax dollars are going towards hiring people who aren't even competant enough to do their jobs nor aren't interested in providing a service without injecting their subtle prejudices into it. Respect your patrons and stop talking down to them.

Any book I have wanted to read, if they didn't carry it, there was no problem getting a copy from a sister library very quickly. An email is sent letting me know it is in for pick-up. Through the years, I have used the computers to print out documents when my printer wasn't working and the staff was always helpful. I recently was in looking for some local historic photos and was brought an abundance of material from the local history room. Our town may be small but, a visit to our library will show you the residents have big hearts and smiles to greet you.

The building itself is beautiful and full of history -- clean, cozy, and perfectly maintained. They have a wonderful selection of books, both new releases and classics, plus museum passes, DVDs, and great programs for kids and adults. Plus their adult and kids programs are great and has fun monthly activities like baking kits, coloring placemats, guess the jar, book bingo. So much fun! They effectively ousted a group of middle school students because they sat in the younger kid section. They have no real area in the library for them, yet wouldn't let them sit in the window seats. The old, white haired lady at the circulation desk spent most of her time biting everyone's head off-have never felt less welcome in a library before.
