STAY AWAY!! THIS COMPANY EXPLOITS THE ELDERLY!!!!! My grandparents received an outrageous quote for a new furnace and air conditioner with this company in July of 2023. New Comfort had quoted them $20,000 more than other companies in the area for a new furnace and air conditioner. When calling and speaking to the office manager I was told "We can sit and speculate all day about the quote but that's our price". My questions were never clearly answered and she gave vague answers and beat around the bush to say the least before she hung up the phone! Just had our yearly furnace/air conditioner cleaning done. As every year, the technician was quick to get his job done but very thorough. Since I was at the house the whole visit I verified all that was done. New Comfort installed the air conditioner and oil furnace almost 15 years ago and have been satisfied with their service all 15 years. I plan on competitively quoting a new air conditioner next year but will most likely go with Nee Comfort. read more

I needed a Hot Surface Ignitor replaced. This is only a $20 part in all stores. I was charged $444 for the part and an $88 diagnostic fee. $532 total and it only took 20 minutes to install. I have never been so ridiculously overcharged for a service call in my life. It was negative temperatures outside and I had been without heat for 14 hours. ***Took advantage of an elderly woman. My mother had a maintenance contract with New Comfort for a few years. Her heating system is less than 10 years old and burns oil from an external tank. She experienced problems where on certain mornings, the system would stop in the night. She would press a reset and it would then resume. Not wanting to wake up to a cold house, she asked New Comfort to "fix" the problem. Four visits and five bills within a 50 day window, and here is the history: 1. 12/29/16: $44 visit, didn't fix. 2. 1/2/17: $219 - renewal of annual maintenance contract. 3. 1/13/17: $477 - new motor on visit 2, didn't fix. 3. 2/10/17: $44 visit, didn't fix. 4. 2/10/17: $274 visit - have not noticed the problem since, but the cold temperatures have passed. Initially, she was told this would be a "no charge" visit. However, when tech got back to the office, my mother was called and told that the owner decided she needed to be charged. I called New Comfort and explained that the charges seemed excessive, considering they didn't fix the problem, and I was bothered that they would install a new motor on 1/2 when the tech on 12/29 deemed the motor to be "working properly." I asked them to review everything and let me know what they thought was fair. (My mother had already paid them in full, except the final $274 "surprise" invoice. After 3 days of consideration, they called and said that the charges would stand. They also said, "You're probably going to be mad about this, but we haven't fixed her problem." They stated that her tank is the problem and they've known for years. They said water gets in the filter. I explained that chemicals are added each year to keep moisture away, the tank/oil company came out 2 days ago and tested, finding no moisture, and New Comfort's own techs documented that they found some moisture in the filter, but not enough to cause a problem. When asked why they came out 4 times and charged my 87 year old mother nearly $1,000 if they knew the problem was not in the furnace - they said, "When an older person doesn't have heat, we go out there to see how we can help." New Comfort, in our experience, saw a gullible, elderly woman and have gouged her repeatedly. I discussed her payments to New Comfort over the past 4 years - - - she has paid them $4,000 in repairs and service!!!!!!! I suggest that anyone considering New Comfort should run the other direction as fast as possible - and notify others of this predatory company. read more
