The annual service for my A/C was very thorough, and during the technician's visit, they checked the furnace and discovered a cracked heat exchanger that might have existed since the severe winter of 2025-26. I promptly arranged for repairs, as I occasionally use the furnace on cooler nights, even when daytime temperatures don't require it. Unfortunately, the first appointment was canceled at the last minute, and the second appointment couldn't be completed because the new heat exchanger arrived damaged, necessitating a reorder. Additionally, I was overcharged for cleaning the blower, which wasn't performed due to the heat exchanger issue. I'm still awaiting a refund and am uncertain about when the furnace repairs will be finished. This situation could have been managed more effectively, and I hope everything gets resolved soon. My wife and I are both in our sixties and contracted with Extreme Heating and Air in July to install a mini split system in our family room. My wife has asthma and other breathing issues as well as an aneurism. This unit was supposed to help alleviate her breathing issues on very hot and/or cold days. This has been nothing short of a fiasco. Minutes after the technician left, it began leaking water all over the floor. The tech 'forgot' to check the drain hose and had to come back out to repair it within hours. Only days later, we had to call them back out because it ceased to cool during one of the hottest days of the year. After sending multiple technicians, it was determined that all the coolant had leaked out because of an improper flange installation on the outside unit. The next issue was a faulty flange on the inside unit which, again, leaked coolant. After that repair, it still has failed to work, this time when we tried to heat the room during the recent cold spells. Same story, no coolant, only this time supposedly a manufacturing defect. After six months of this, I'm still waiting for some kind of resolution. After weeks of inquiries as to the status of the repairs/replacement, I can't get them to return my phone calls despite repeated promises to do so. read more

Our AC went out. We have a Home Warranty and we called and they said they could not be out until Thursday. With many health conditions, this was not going to work. we called around to get pricing for what the cost would be to come out and fix the issue. We called Extreme, they was great on pricing to come out on a Saturday and also Ben was the tech or came out to repair our ac, he was quick, efficient and very informative. I sincerely appreciate how quickly he fixed the issue and how kind he was. I would definitely recommend this company and Ben as well if you ever need repairs. I needed a mini-split in my office-at-home. I contacted a few A/C companies, and set up appointments for the following couple of weeks. Except for one - Shaun from Extreme's One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning of Beavercreek stopped by the same day. He did a thorough review of the situation (and he really knows his stuff!) and provided me estimates for 3 different options. It all made sense, but I wanted to get estimates from other companies as well. It turns out they were all higher and had some "gotcha's" in them. Then before I could make up my mind, Shaun called and told me of a special opportunity he found out about, at a much lower cost. I placed the order over the phone. The crew arrived two days later. Joe and Caleb are real expert installers. Shaun was there too, helping and guiding. They did an excellent job with the installation and cleanup, offering creative solutions to various minor issues that came up due to my requirements and satisfying my every whim. The end result is a first-rate mini-split, performing better than expected and at a very affordable price. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company. I think I have met all of their service techs. It seems I meet them on the eve of holidays at night when I am sure they would rather be home with their families. They are so professional and polite and to be honest I am always sad to see them go lol. Last year I burst into tears at more bad news about my furnace and the tech stayed and pep talked me for a good hour. I have been a customer of Extream since I moved to the area in 2006. a year after I moved in we had them replace my outside unit. At the time they recommended I keep my old inside unit, since there was nothing wrong with it. About 6 years ago they replaced my inside unit as well. For the last 3 years my freon was leaking and my outside unit kept freezing up in the winter. They just filled up the freon and said there you go. This last time I had them come out, they decided to do a die test and found a leak /crack on the coil of the inside unit. (No Da-something was causing the freon to get low for 3 years) But low and behold the unit just went out of warranty 6 months ago. A new coil is $1,600 , Extream recommends replacing the 6 year old inside unit again, and they will not do anything for me to offset the cost of this repair. So much for being a loyal customer for the last 12 years. I feel like they could have done more to find out why the freon levels continued to drop these past few years. (Oh Well) Can anyone recommend a good heating and ac company that actually tries to take care of the systems they install and maintain for their customers instead of just going through the paces? read more

Extreme installed a new furnace in our home. They worked hard to get our business, but our experience was disappointing after that. We had to remind them of their promised installation date. While installing the furnace, it appeared they did not know how to connect the heating oil supply - our house smelled for a week. Beyond this, our furnace was installed okay, but they did not reinstall our A/C correctly. When it came time for us to use it again, it leaked water through the middle, not out the condensation drain. So far this isn't that big of deal. The problem is when they came out to look at the A/C, they came and took pictures and claimed it was not their fault. They were extremely defensive. They said, "Our guys would not make a mistake like that." During our conversation they said repeatedly, "We do not work for free." It's the kind of thing I cannot prove it is their fault, but I know it is. They went out of their way to say because I removed two access panels, "I broke it and I probably voided the warrenty." Well, we verified with the manufacturer that we didn't void the warrenty. We also called another company and they repaired it with minimal cost. Nothing was wrong with it except what I indicated (the A/C was not installed level). Be prepared to consider all possible outcomes and put it in writing. Be prepared to thoroughly inspect their work - because their post-installation inspection did not catch the problem. read more
