During my initial appt a Dentist at Aspen told me to reach out if it ever started to hurt. 4 days ago woke up with pain from the tooth that Ive been treating with saltwater, icepacks and ibuprofen finally my face has swollen, I cant swallow or open my mouth. I call to request some pain medication and to be seen, I tell them my symptoms and what Im taking. without seeing me, the dentist prescribed amoxicillin and ibuprofen and refused to prescribe anything else despite having no history of drug use, and asked to be seen again, the dentist denied and essentially told me Im on my own and they wouldnt help my pain while I wait for my extraction appointment. So unprofessional, and risking my health by prescription antibiotics before even confirming if the issue was bacterial.

When I walked into the office I was greeted by a staff wearing smiles like they'd just hit the Powerball. They got me in, sat me down and made me feel like a long lost brother who had just come home. That's when The Heroine of the story walked in. Yup it was Dr. Pamela Alberto an actual Oral Surgeon, and she was open for business, Baby. (meaning she was ready to deal with that foul tooth.) I've been to dentists before, but I have never had an experience like Dr. Alberto. She was amazing. Even the numbing shots she put into my gums were painless. When she went to work she knew exactly what she was doing. There was no hesitation, no guessing. Bada Bing Bada Boom Betty Boop and the tooth was out. I met with Dr. Alberto and she was very reassuring that she would take good care of me. I am on day 2 and it's hard to tell from looking at me that I had surgery. There is practically no swelling. There is very little pain. I am taking 1 Advil and a Tylenol for pain, just as a precaution. This office respects your time and won't hold you hostage waiting in the waiting room. My only complaint is having to wait months to be seen. It's somewhat of an ordeal with consultation (that takes weeks to schedule) - then the insurance red tape-then trying to get an appointment especially when you are in the midst of excruciating pain.
