The instructors are wonderful across the board, and many remember your name even after just a few visits. Christian's classes in particular feel like a lovely, hypnotic yoga trance. They also offer hot mat Pilates, which is a great option when you want a break from yoga, and their Sweat + Sculpt classes are a real workout -- I don't even need to go to a regular gym on those days. I walk out looking like I showered in my yoga clothes, which is exactly what I'm going for. At the end of class, instructors bring around a cold washcloth scented with lavender or other essential oils -- it feels like heaven. Unfortunately, his behavior reinforces harmful stereotypes, such as the "angry Black male" trope, which is both disappointing and damaging. Maintenance is also slow to respond to repair requests, and there have been reports of ringworm, which raises serious hygiene concerns. After I signed the paperwork to cancel my gym membership, the gym continued to make unauthorized charges to my card. This appears to be a pattern, as other former clients have reported similar experiences. It seems to be a method of retaliation--an incredibly predatory move by the ownership. There are plenty of other gyms in the area worth considering.
