They have information about the animals on signs which was helpful as well. Some of the animals were gone; but they had signs by them so it was clear. She started in the middle school girls groups and just finished her first year as an official Camp Counsellor. My wife and I have joined in on the fun over the years by enjoying the long weekend Family Camp events and in most recent years have introduced Camp Wood to your grand-baby, now 4. She loves that camp, and all activities. Our family has grown closer and have shared many great memories at Camp Wood. Thank you to all that have worked at, or ran this most outstanding Camp. I give 5 stars for what has included many incredible experiences, and I see many many more ahead. Your many improvements and new events along with new and upgraded buildings are making this camp one to not miss. The refurbished chapel is looking great and is going to be incredible once finished. Keep up the great work, teaching and bringing kids and families closer together with your wonderful, safe, adventurous, and very comfortable camp. I do not recall seeing this flavor before in moonshine but I love all things butterscotch! They had a pretty good crowd there when we arrived. Not too bad for a weeknight in Emporia! They have the cutest outdoor seating area but no one was sitting outside when we arrived. The food menu was smaller than I expected it to be but I suppose if you are there to enjoy some cocktails with friends, the offerings are on target. I was honestly hoping for more menu items to pair with their distillery offerings, especially if I want to try a tasting/flight. You aren't going to bring the family here for brunch or dinner. It isn't that kind of place. I am not sure if they have event space but it has that sort of trendy yet unique vibe that I would consider when selecting a venue for my events. This is a cool spot. I love the craft cocktail, distillery category, rooted in the Prohibition, Speakeasy, and bootlegger history. This is one trend I hope to see continue! Getting married here, one of the hidden, sacred treasures of the earth, is destiny. So glad, it was here. The venue is iconic in its restoration. Amy and JT know how to put on a good show. The guests were all so thankful, and the wedding ceremony outdoors and the fancy barn with a balcony viewing level. I think we had maybe 60. I couldn't tell you exactly. Susan Hyde played bass and sing for the outdoor wedding ceremony, Jane Hyde played harp during the reception following. They both played in the perfect spots, and the music's serenity and peacefulness matched the historic significance of the venue. Thank you Amy and JT Crawford! It was priceless. Couldn't have gone better! Looking forward to seeing how it goes for The Riverview! I'll bet it's gonna be big! Precautions & Recommendations * Go to Miracle Cafe in Reading, KS, check it out, then go to The Riverview right down Carlson/Road Z. * Set Up--the banquet tables and catering need to be set up at least a day prior if you want to be comfortable. Otherwise, you won't have much time for yourself while directing and coordinating guests and event staff during the big day. * A lot of work goes into it, be prepared.
