The director reassured us that things would improve with consistency, so we remained patient and gave it time. Fast forward to today, my son is now 26 months old, and we ultimately made the difficult decision to withdraw him. Our hope in enrolling him was that he would strengthen his social skills and expand his vocabulary. While he has made great progress through speech therapy outside of daycare, we never saw him use his words while at daycare or observed meaningful growth in his social interactions there. The overall environment also did not feel warm or welcoming. Most mornings, we were rarely greeted by staff with a simple "good morning." When we arrived at his classroom, he would immediately begin crying, and rather than helping him transition, the typical response was to offer him a snack and wait for me to leave. He did have one teacher whom he absolutely adored, and we will always be grateful for the care she showed him. Unfortunately, her assistant changed frequently due to what appeared to be high staff turnover, making it difficult for him to build consistency and relationships with caregivers. During his final few weeks at the daycare, he was injured on three separate occasions with no incident report given to us. We were told by the teacher it would be at the front desk but they were never found. We were also not provided with a progress report or meaningful communication regarding his development. At the same time, we noticed changes in his behavior at home, he became much more emotional, which reinforced our decision to withdraw him. Every family's experience is different, but ours was disappointing. We felt there was a lack of consistency, communication, and warmth from the staff. Many of the teachers did not appear happy or engaged, and the high turnover made it difficult to feel confident that our son was receiving the stable, nurturing environment we were looking for.

I think we can all say that more than anything we want the best for our kids; better education, to…read morebe surrounded by people who love them and to be embraced for their individuality. That is exactly what I envisioned Satori to be. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I sent my three-year-old son to Satori, and after three weeks I was told by Jo, the Director that he was "being seen as a bad kid and that he believed that he was high functioning autistic." I am not sure for all you other parents but, for a director to tell a parent something like this is devastating. When you first start Satori, there is a process in which you would come in to see if your child is "a good fit for the school." Jo said that my son was the perfect fit for the school because he is inquisitive and curious children just need to be guided. However, when our family feels under financial turmoil, I had requested a scholarship until we could get back on our feet and I now believe that this played a HUGE role in his being dismissed. After two weeks, I had asked his teacher Magon (pronounced Megan) how he was doing, and she said that he was doing excellent. 2 days later, I got a call from Jo stated that I need to find another school for my son. The following Monday, she called me at roughly 11 am and said that I needed to pick up my son because he bit his teacher and was no longer allowed at the school because of the reasons stated above. I think this is ironic because when I switched my son back to his old daycare (3 months ago), he has not bitten anyone. Another complaint that I have is in regards to their staff members. One, in particular, I think her name is either Donna or Kathy but, she is an older lady who takes care of the kids during the extended care hours. Most mornings I would wait until my son's teacher Maggie showed up because she wouldn't even say hi to my son in the morning and would continually ignore him. I am not even sure why she is employed there if she does not know how to approach children. There were also times where I came to Parker's classroom early, and I would hear Magon yelling at the children. Maggie, on the other hand, is amazing, and I am glad that she is in the classroom to balance out Magon. I contact Jo, Magon, and Brian Love several times to request a refund on the school t-shirt and the field trips that we paid for but, I never received it. I am thankful that my son has left this school. TUSD Child Find has provided a SIGNIFICANTLY better education than Satori could ever and it was free as opposed to the crazy 825+meals and with the scholarship, it was still 700+meals. My son just needed help with communication. He is doing amazing. I think Satori should be ashamed and should change their mission statement because they do not live up to any of the standards. It's all a façade.

This is the most peaceful, beautiful preschool I have ever seen. Ever. Normally with this many children in one area there is usually bound to be someone screaming, someone crying, and general chaos. That is the furthest thing from the serene scenes playing out here day after day. When my son first started Mis Manos he had difficulty with the transition and would cry quite a bit when I dropped him off and later in the day when other mommies and daddies came and he was still at school. During those first few weeks what impressed me the most was the fact that even if he was crying (and it was very little) he was always being held or comforted by a teacher. He was never left in a corner anywhere during his difficult transition. As a first time mom this was incredibly reassuring. Now my son has been attending this school for nearly four months he loves it there. In fact we bumped his schedule up to 5 days a week because he would ask to see his teachers and his friends. He has improved in his listening and communicating so much and is always happy and tired when he comes home. I always ask him how his day was, and he beams and says "Good!" usually followed by some babbling about what he did (2 year olds aren't always the easiest to understand) and a very exuberant "Alba!" (his teacher). We pack his lunch and water bottle each day and he brings them right into his classroom. He's also learned that whenever he goes outside he should ask for his hat and sunscreen which is an added bonus! I do also want to point out that their toddler class, which my son is in, does not require them to be potty trained and begins at 18months. There is a waiting list and for good reason, this is an amazing school! I also hear they are cloth-diaper friendly, we asked but haven't gotten our stuff together to bring to them so we've been using disposables. I recommend this school to anyone and everyone I meet!

However, outside the superficial, Britcha is anything but. The teachers in each classroom are very well supported. Each usually has one or two class aids. Additionally, students from the UA come to get some of their teaching hours there. They have a very welcoming environment and refer to children in gender neutral terms as "friends." They also have referrals for AZEip if your child needs it. This is NOT a money run business like you find at places like Adventure time with inconsistent staff. They even have rates for government employees. It took us 3 years to find the best place for our kiddo. Don't pass up Brichta without checking it out first. It is truly a west side gem. In addition to their regular curriculum they also offer enrichment class! During the day!!! While your little is already at school! Music! Sign Language! Spanish! Soccer! These are taught by actual instructors and coaches.
