Parents beware. TLDR: The direct school administrative staff including Desiree and Kristina were not helpful and frankly were avoidant, dismissive, and uncaring about a resolution to the same concern. These two individuals are not fit to be in positions of directing a place for young children and families. Cadence Academy corporate were kind & helpful following a challenging situation. We chose Cadence, after months of researching & touring for our 3 month old son when I returned to work after maternity leave. On the first day of daycare at Cadence Academy we had the ability to see the classroom through video access and as an anxious, first time, parents, we watched as often as we were allowed to. Our son spent a significant amount of time in a bouncer. It appeared that he was given attention infrequently by the singular teacher in the classroom of several babies. We received a phone call asking if it was okay for our baby to sleep in the bouncer if he was comfortable. This was not something that we wanted, but as it was our first day at daycare, we were a little nervous about anything going wrong and felt that perhaps this was a helpful recommendation from a teacher in the classroom. Watching the video even longer our son appeared to spend about five hours in the bouncer and did not receive that much of an attempt at having a milk bottle across that time, which was disheartening. We were told that he refused the bottle from his teacher. When I asked Desiree why another teacher didn't attempt to feed our son the bottle she said, "we want him to get used to his teacher feeding him", as though feeding our 3 month old wasn't the priority. After a frustrating first day, we decided that it would be our son's last day as we felt that the teacher was not doing an adequate job of caring for our son, nor was the teacher following the guidelines of the handbook that we were made to read and sign. We spoke with the assistant director, Desiree, and let her know that we were withdrawing our son as we did not want to risk any potential harm or future bad days. Our son has been at a different daycare in town, which has been an absolute blessing. The kindness & attentiveness provided by the teachers at the new daycare and the administrative staff have been wonderful showing us that Cadence really had let us down with just one day at their facility. We thought that our time with Cadence was in the past. That was until we received a notice that we were sent to collections in June, an entire 8 months after we unenrolled our son. We called to speak with the Cadence administrative staff to inquire why we were in collections when we hadn't heard from them since we left in October. We were informed that we owed for the week that he was enrolled & we were also charged a $25 fee for not fulfilling the payment in the first place. The frustrating thing about this is that we were unaware of any outstanding bill. At NO point in time did Cadence Academy reach out to us to let us know that we had an outstanding bill as they had previously had all of our banking information to accept deposits and previous payments. They had our email, phone numbers, & mailing address but no notices or bills came. It took 2 weeks to finally get in touch with someone that could answer our questions (thank you Theresa). Kristina (director) & Desiree (assistant director) were beyond unhelpful. When we asked Desiree who they answered to, we were told "corporate" but weren't given any helpful leads as to who to speak with. Instead we were given the generalized Cadence Academy phone number- which is just a VM & after many calls & messages, not one was returned. It wasn't until we used the websites chatbot to access a live agent who was helpful enough to get us in contact with the regional director. The regional director was able to resolve our concern & pay us back the money (as it was agreed that none of this should have happened given the circumstances). The admin team at Cadence Academy OV should be under review for their inability to do their job effectively. read more

Our son just started cadence and we are very happy with our decision. The staff are extremely friendly. I love all the cameras and daily updates it makes us feel very comfortable while away from our son. The meals are healthy and the activities are good for learning. read more

The ladies are all so wonderful and loving to our two boys The classes are very educational for my toddler and my little guy just enjoys being around the other babies. My family and I have been members of Pusch Ridge Preschool for nearly 3 years now. We have graduated our 2 older children from the school, and we have been very pleased with the program as a whole. Our youngest has been there since he was an infant. Unfortunately, we recently had a very poor experience when our son moved to the 3-year old room. In fact it got so bad, that our son would come home and tell us that his teacher (the lead teacher in that classroom) "didn't like him" and that she "was mean to him." Those are the words of a 3-year old that has never said to us that anyone has ever been mean to him. The last person we would expect to hear that about would be his pre-school teacher whose only job is to nurture and care for him. We tried to work this out, but the situation devolved over time. One instance arose when our son would wet himself during naps. After this occurred 3-4 times, we asked that they put him in pull-ups during naps. She firmly told us that she did not deal with pull-ups and that we could move him back to the lower class if he couldn't stay dry during naps or get a Doctor's note. So in the mean time, she allowed him to sleep in his own urine unnecessarily even after we requested that he be put in pull-ups just for nap time. It is not always possible to get a Doctor's note immediately, and the school was unwilling to do what was right in the meantime for a normal 3-year old issue. There were many other issues that led us to believe that this was not the right place for our child anymore. Most of these issues arose out of the angry words we constantly heard from the lead teacher when we picked our child up. I know that teacher's performance is not indicative of the other fine teachers at that school, but we couldn't continue under these circumstances. She does not nurture, care, or love the children in the manner we know Pusch Ridge desires and is capable of. Moving a child out of a daycare is a big decision and comes with a large amount of work and effort. We would not be doing this if we didn't feel strongly that she is not a good influence in a child's life. read more

Be very weary of sending your child here who is between the ages of 1 and 2. This is a large corporation and they only care about $ and treat you as a number and not as a human. Nor will they care for your child with love and care. All the kids in the dolphins classroom and sick and rowdy. Small classroom with way too many kids for 2 staff to watch. I witnessed two Kids drinking from my sons water bottle! The staff is unfriendly and unwelcoming and unresponsive to the kids in the class. They will say they feed your child nourishing meals but in reality the kids are eating salt crackers all day for snacks. Even if you put on your registration sheet that your child has allergies they will still give milk. I confronted the teacher who marked on my sons report that she gave him milk when he shouldn't have dairy which caused him to have an ear infection. She said it was probably a mistake, well did you give him milk or not? Because he has an ear infection now so you probably did if you marked on his meal report that milk was given to him. No body at this school cares! they will brush off any feedback and not treat you as a human being, or least that was my experience. I took my son out after only 4 days, I couldn't bare it anymore and my son couldn't either. We were at a great preschool prior and I made a horrible mistake of sending him here due to an opening since he was on a waiting list I thought it was a good school. Also beware when you do your tour, they will show you one classroom and meet one teacher and then put your child in a different classroom on the first day! The first day my son was in a horrible classroom - Dolphins - when they originally showed me the clownfish classroom. When I asked why he wasn't in the clown fish, they said it was full and couldn't get him in even though my registration was for the classroom I toured. I felt baited and switched and it caused a lot of sadness and anxiety for myself and my son since the dolphine clasroom was dirty, rowdy, didn't feel confident with the staff. The 4 days he was there I paid over $800. It was so horrible I couldn't bare to keep sending him and took him out while still having to pay for the week he was absent after giving my notice and concerns. I expressed my concerns with the assistant and she brushed me off and said sorry I feel this way. I've even reached out to the Director and she also said sorry I feel this way well sorry isn't good enough you guys need to do better parents pay good money to send their children to Good preschools and this is not it! If you're reading this I strongly encourage you to take your child elsewhere so they can have a better upbringing and you can be treated like a human and not just a number. The four days I took him there Nobody at the front desk greeted me a good morning goodbye nothing. when I drop my son off in the classroom, nobody tried to grab him from me. I was just standing there for five minutes and nobody acknowledged me or my son. I was so fed up I finally walked out and never want to return to such a horrible and unprofessional place. read more

First of all, I want to say whoever is running this place now, please find another job. The place is almost completely run down from what it used to be. Not to mention the staff there has always been rude and unprofessional. I don't know what happened between a few years ago and now, but i'm not recommending this place any more to any other parents. We were fortunate to get our son in at 4 months apparently, I didn't join the waitlist until I was 5 months pregnant. Big mistake apparently. The director, Stacey is amazing, responsive, and the facility is as good as it gets, especially for infant and/or first-time parents. The long and short of it is, all rooms have cameras that cover just about every angle and the teachers are incredibly professional. I cannot say enough about the infant room teachers Patricia and Nancy. My son adored them. The waitlist is rather long, but doable compared to a few others in the city. The cameras make a first time mom comfortable (and really aid if you're pumping at work!). The only issue I've had as my son transitions into the toddler room is that if your kid has special dietary restrictions, they can be fairly un-accommodating. They took a fridge out of the toddler room that housed my son's non-dairy milk (non-organic whole milk is provided for all children) and also housed food for a few pickier eaters. The kitchen staff, while nice, doesn't always remember to bring the extra food in, which means hungry kids. The first few days of this, my son was losing his mind in the car and trying to climb into his high chair as soon as we got home. I've addressed my concerns with the staff and hope to hear that the fridge has replaced soon. I will update. Other than that, the teachers are kind yet firm, there is low-ish turnover (no more than is reasonable) and the cost is reasonable compared to other areas. Those relocating from more expensive metros will be pleasantly surprised. The facility is secured by family-specific codes, the grounds are clean and well-maintained, the playgrounds are safe and hold a wide variety of toys of similar and differing types to ensure that when a class is on the playground together there is minimal competition. The children get outside 1-2 times a day and take "field trips" to the gardens. They do a lot of artwork and water play and the staff is very good about sending home "projects" --it can be a little overwhelming but perfect for the scrapbook queens or doting grandmas out there. Overall, it's an excellent school and while I'm not positive that my son will stay through Kindergarten as we are thinking Montessori, it's definitely a keeper. Get in and stay in, though, it's nearly impossible to get an older kid in! UPDATE: They did replace the fridge in the toddler room and my son was able to have his cashew milk up through the 2 year old classroom, which was nice. They provide milk, water, and juice occasionally. My son is now in the Preschool classroom, which I am much less a fan of due to the size. To be fair, he came from classes with no more than 14-15 students and two teachers, and this class has about 30. They do have three teachers, but scheduling wise, there are only two in the room at a time. I think this is a bit much for three year olds and, at the price, would prefer a full-time third TA in the classroom at least. My son still enjoys it and loves his primary teacher, Ms. Staci. One of the best things about the school is that it's open 6:30-6:30 with no overtime charges (a HUGE boon for those parents paying per minute penalties for being late). However, now, at about 5:30, my the classrooms are combined, meaning you'll pick your preschooler up from a classroom with children 3-5 years old. He's come home asking a few times if he's turning 5 tomorrow. In general, I think this is probably a good thing as it allows the children to socialize with older children, which may not work for all children but works for mine great, however the bad thing about it is you don't have the opportunity to speak with the teacher to find out about behavioral issues or monitor things that you may find to be at issue. Overall, I am still satisfied with the school, but the best experiences are to be had in the infant and toddler rooms. read more

I absolutely live this school. It is clean and well organized. My son has been here for a year and a half. All meals are served. The play ground is an awesome pirate ship. Also they have a splash pad for the kids to play on during the summer. I was terrified to my son into school, any school. Pusch Ridge made this transition so much easier for my son and I. I'm sad he goes to kindergarten next year because it will be new school. He has learned and developed so much while attending school here. Go check them out. read more

We absolutely loved having our daughter attend Cadence (previously Pusch Ridge). My husband and I were originally very skeptical of daycare, but needed childcare for our daughter this year. The director Andrea answered every one of my questions, and made it feel more like a school versus your typical daycare. My daughter loved her infant room teachers, and her toddler room teachers once she transitioned. The school has cameras, so you're able to watch your child anytime you want. They take pictures of the kids doing activities, keep you updated on when their diaper is changed, when they're fed, etc. My daughter has already learned so many skills in just the three months she has been enrolled. It truly feels like an educational experience, rather than a place where people just keep an eye on your child. We absolutely love them, and know you will too! read more

This school is amazing! The teachers are very attentive. The school is really clean and focused on creating an environment where the children can grow and flourish. In the time my daughter has been attending she has become more outgoing and has retained so much information! They give the children many opportunities to try new things and always have lessons that broaden their imagination and curiosities. The kindergarten readiness has really prepared my daughter for school next year. She's more responsible and confident. In the younger classes they really focus on what makes each child happy while setting the foundation for group learning. I love to see al the little personalities at play during pickup and drop offs. Very dirty! My daughter and I toured the school and I couldn't believe how nasty it was. The classroom smelled really bad it was unbelievable! The mats she showed us that they use for nap time were nasty and smelled. The play area has bark! Bark! I heard such great things about pusch now, I know they were all lies! read more

All I can say is this establishment is REMARKABLE. Not only is the location ideal, the architectural set up was made to make the children safe and secure from any danger or threats. Upon taking a tour I was blown away by the professionalism of the staff and teachers. There weren't an abundance of children which showed that they follow teacher-teacher ratios were being followed, which is a huge plus for my husband and I. I am prior military and my husband is currently still serving so safety and security is high on our checklist for our son and so is a structured environment. Our son thrives on structure and I feel that Pusch Ridge offers just that on a day to day basis. My husband and I were sold the minute we stepped into this establishment and are more than thrilled for our son to be attending Pusch Ridge starting in the new year. read more

Not the best value for the money. Other preschools actually have a curriculum and are cheaper. This place has more of a corporate feeling than an educational feeling. If you are looking for a babysitting service, do yourself a favor and hire a babysitter or a great nanny. Best preschool ever! My daughter was in the Orca classroom and she had the best teacher Donnarey! My daughter left there ready for kindergarten , in fact she was tested and placed in advanced classes because she was so smart!
