We really wanted to like NewEco. Unfortunately, they were incredibly slow to provide work. They routinely blew past deadlines, and didn't promptly follow up. We had to hound them for weeks just to get our initial designs back. Despite paying for the designs, we ended up deciding to cut our loses and go with another company. Perhaps it's a staffing issue that will be solved. However, the new company we're working with has already been a night and day contrast, and we've gotten further with the project in a quarter of the time. read more

New Eco did a great job in our backyard. They were able to make the space feel twice as large without doing any major construction work. We extended our deck by a few feet in both directions but were able to keep our existing wood and iron. The iron work we originally had was simple and unimpressive. With a few simple additions Sean and his team made it look elegant and charming. Our backyard is like a little French country garden. Sean listened to my husband and my requests (albeit different) And brought our visions together. We now have more space to play with our kids and somehow more variety of flowers and herbs with our new raised flower boxes. Whenever any problems a rouse Sean and his team solved them in a very timely matter. I highly recommend New Eco. read more

Very strange outfit. Called them to request an appointment to come visit my yard which is in need of work, as my young German Shepherd decided he was a gardener last Fall, and destroyed the existing plantings, digging holes and unearthing trees. The conversation was awkward as the person on the other end didn't seem to understand I needed their expertise in providing solutions that would somewhat dog-proof the yard and also provide a nice outdoor environment to relax in. The person did however, have no issues in informing me they have "minimums" for gardening expenditures of $3000 and $15,000 for hard landscaping and construction. I find that an odd way to start a business conversation as they would have no idea if I were willing to spend exponentially more than their "minimums". I also think it's shortsighted on their part. Being a developer, owning multiple properties in NYC, they would have no way of knowing how much additional work could be generated by our association. Well it was just an odd conversation to say the least and a strange way of answering to business request call. read more

i had New Ecco Landscapes do the fence and deck and pergola in my garden I was very disappointed by they work the oversold themselves they are snooty My general contractor made them redo the deck three times thy did not took special care to protect trampled on my plant CUT OFF the grape off vines vine i grew for 30 years for which i was building special pergola as well as my Red Trumpet vine, they were overpriced, fence I share with neighbor cost me than my side and also very cheap with leaving you scraps of wood for which I paid. There was bunch of gravel in my left all along at the bottom of the fence and under the deck also were two weeks over with completion of the project .Top of fence is already staring to fall apart WAS VERY HAPPY WHEN THEY LEFT you have well establish garden and planning fence enclosure plants don't go near them read more

If I could give six stars to these guys I would - their work went above and beyond my expectations. The did a complete backyard transformation including bluestone pavers, brick, fencing and plants. Communication was excellent, work was completed on time and on budget, workers were friendly and thoughtful. Worth every single penny! New Eco built us a beautiful urban backyard garden this summer, taking our ideas on what we were looking for and improving on them. They also completed the project quickly - and within the estimated time and budget. With several renovation projects under my belt, I would say this was the most professional and efficient group I've worked with. They were responsive and accommodating, and they maintained a light footprint in our apartment and the entranceway of our building. My only caveat is that New Eco was a little too strict about what they considered to be in and out of scope. Perhaps this was a result of our efforts to control costs very closely during the contract negotiation - for example, by downgrading some materials, reducing the number of planters, ordering some things ourselves, etc. I would have liked to see them take more ownership of the final result as a whole - for example, by offering suggestions for how we might deal on our own with a few items that were excluded from the project, or coming back to propose a price for taking care of them, which we might have accepted. That said, they have helped us resolve a couple of minor issues after completion and generally did a fabulous job. We would use them again in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend them to others. read more

This company gets high marks from me. The owner was responsive and a great communicator. He kept me apprised of developments through the entire process (rain for days on end). New Echo Landscape only those large jobs. They have a $3000 minimum. I'm only looking for somebody to do a planting at the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery. I want to plant some plants if one of the head stone. The area is about 2' x 6'. I am looking for someone to prepare the ground, add Pete Morris, water absorbing material, fertilizer. Then plants about 12 plants and then mulch the area to keep the weeds down. This job should be in the area of $200-$300 not $3000. It isn't their fault that they don't handle jobs the small. I did suggest that they might keep a list of a few local landscapers who handle small jobs especially since there are so many cemeteries in the area that need this type of work done. read more

These guys are well-intentioned and creative, but they are totally disorganized and amateurish in the running of their business. Appalling customer service, not responsive, flaky. It's like you've hired your unemployable stoner cousin who talks a good game and never shows up. They routinely fail to show for appointments and they take no responsibility for their work, and their bookkeeping is appalling, resulting in multiple invoices for the same job for wildly varying amounts. We hired them to do fencing and landscaping in our modest-sized backyard garden. They incorrectly installed a gate and never returned to fix it after promising to do so for more than a year! They offered us a service contract to maintain the garden and when we agreed to terms they failed to show for month, then finally showed and billed us as if we did not have a contract. When we pointed out we did have a contract, they apologized, but then billed us a much higher contract rate. I'm willing to credit this to incompetence rather than malevolence. But I would never do business with these clowns again. read more

New Eco designed and installed a wonderful and relaxing landscape in the courtyard of our new hotel in Brooklyn. The guests are enjoying the pleasant environment. The staff were a pleasure to work with and very responsive on the install and maintenance. read more

New Eco did an amazing job with our small Brooklyn Brownstone backyard. It had become totally overrun and needed weeding, pruning, a large weed/tree removed and a power wash for the patio. 2 gardeners turned up at 9.30 am and finished at 5pm and left our yard completely transformed. I had been quoted over $10,000 for the work by another local company and New Eco's fee was less than 1/5 of that including additional trees/plants, mulch and 20 bags of debris removal. I was very impressed and would highly recommend these guys. read more

New Eco did such a great job with my rooftop space. In a big city with a lot of unfortunate, invasive sounds it is hard to find a place that feels like an oasis. But somehow New Eco managed to create just that. Not only did they create the rooftop of my dreams but they also were organized, quick to respond and helpful whenever I had any questions or concerns about the project. I would definitely use them for an outdoor space of mine again. read more

I love working with NewEco. We needed garden design and maintenance and NewEco provided all that we needed, without selling us on more than we needed (i.e. we didn't want a lawn or irrigation). They followed our ideas and requests but came up with some surprising ones of their own, and having architects on staff, the design had a clarity that was new to our garden. NewEco is also willing to go far from brownstone Brooklyn. The staff is a pleasure to work with - we were doing Hurricane Sandy remediation at the same time that NewEco came out, and they accommodated the other work crews and our sea tossed basement without complaint. And, they are really cute guys, the kind I'd love to set up my (younger) friends with! read more
