Make sure to pay careful attention to your GPS - because you may just pass it as you drive by. There is a small shoulder where cars can park, but it isn't a super obvious stop so once GPS has alerted you that you have arrived, you really have! No worries if you pass it (like we did) you can turn around a little ways ahead and be on your way to some beautiful photo ops. There is a pretty short bridge that leads you from the street to the falls - less than 5 min max. Once you get to the falls, they are so so beautiful. This is a really quick and easy stop if you are in the area.

As longtime supporters of National Parks, we couldn't wait to experience it for ourselves. Entry to the park is free, though ranger-led tours of the mansion run about $9 per adult. The park's history is absolutely fascinating. It preserves the boyhood home of George Perkins Marsh, a pioneering environmental thinker whose book Man and Nature laid the foundation for conservation in the U.S. Another interesting fact: the park includes the oldest continuously managed scientific forest in the country, originally reforested by Frederick Billings as a model of sustainable forestry. We opted for a ranger-led mansion tour (worth every penny), which brought the estate's legacy of stewardship to life through beautifully preserved furnishings, art, and stories of the Marsh, Billings, and Rockefeller families. After the tour, our ranger highly recommended a scenic trail hike. It was an easy, peaceful walk that led us to a lovely lake loop - perfect for stretching our legs and soaking in nature. The trail meandered beneath shady trees and felt like a serene escape from the world. All in all, if you're curious about conservation history or just looking for a peaceful, enriching outing in woodland surroundings, this park is a gem. Easy access hype…read more This Gorge is easily accessible from the road and worth stopping for a few minutes. It is not a destination worthy but provides a scenic rest stop on your way to elsewhere. Many road trippers and tourist traps are here. There are about 20-30 parking spots near the East side of the bridge. There is an info board and a trailhead at the parking lot. The trail meanders below the road bridge to the Quechee Gorge. This summer (9/25) has been quite dry, so not big cascades but better views into the Gorge can be had. There's a big construction going ON the bridge so there was some traffic (yup). The construction probably will be completed before the winter. PSA - The best vista to this Gorge is actually from the bridge which is a very short walk from the parking lot.

That being said, the Climbing Gym is an awesome place to learn to climb! And to just hang out. Everyone there is extremely friendly and they're also nice enough to teach you how to climb. Since this is the only indoor climbing gym that I'm aware of in Hanover... it's pretty much as good as it gets! Go go go! You can borrow shoes. Rock climbing is exhausting, but quite rewarding :)

We got to the top, stopped for pictures and our tour guide was a true photographer, catching us all jumping on the second try! We switched drivers with the two doubles on the way down so everyone gets to drive, and once we got back down, the guide brought us to the ground across and let us go high speed for three laps!!!! Great experience, lots of fun and definitely a highlight of our trip! After mid October, they get the grounds ready for snowmobile.
