Sam & his crew were hired by my builder to do the driveway on our newly built house. My builder then had them add an extension piece to widen our driveway and they used only a base coat which they packed higher than my regular driveway. The base coat has thicker chunks of asphalt and looks downright terrible right next to the smooth based driveway. Not to mention they cut it so poorly it looks terrible. I've had more than one area sink in the original driveway which had to be repaired correctly but Sam wanted no part in repairing his own mistakes. I've since had Shamrock Paving fix all of Sam's mistakes. When trying to choose the best paving company to do your driveway, be sure to steer clear of New England Paving. read more

We had New England paving add a top coat on our driveway. In a short time it had holes revealing the layer below and a long seam down the center of the driveway. When we called to ask for a repair, we got no where . Although they promised to address this they never showed up to their appointments. Nothing has been fixed- very dissappointed. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! Sam (the owner) is a deceitful con man. He told me he was capable of doing a job for me (leveling a field) and gave me a rough price quote ($20,000 to $40,000). In the end it cost me $75,000 and the job was not even close to completions. He dug a huge hole where he should not have, one of his employees stole wood from my property, and he buried trash on my property. He clearly does not know what he is doing, and will try to cheat you out of everything he can. read more

I had New England Paving install a walkway and resurface my driveway. The path was to be 3 feet they dug up 5 feet and would not fill the overage with asphalt. They insted I hire a landscaping co to fix this. They were going to leave all the dug up mess for my husband to clean up knowing he was 70. They resurfaced the driveway leaving a good size dip which puddles in rain and freezes in the winter not to mention a have a stupid seam going down the middle of our driveway. Tore out my old driveway, dug down very deep to remove rocks and clay and put down a very good base, and did a great job installing the new asphalt. My lucky day! While enjoying breakfast, the doorbell rang and there was Sam's associate offering me a quote since they were doing a job a couple of houses down the street. To my delight the quote was reasonable. A half hour later, Sam and his crew started to remove the old driveway along with 4 large protruding boulders and several potholes. Six hours later, the job was completed including cleanup! They did an excellent job and I am very pleased. Strike while the iron is hot if they come to your neighborhood! read more

Do not hire New England Paving! They are con artists. They sent a representative for the company to bid a driveway job. He gave me an estimate in writing. I felt the estimate was lower than usual and was suspicious. I called the cell number of the owner and asked if the estimate was accurate and asked him to assure me that there would be no additional charges. He asked some questions about the size of the driveway, I answered them and he said the estimate sounded correct. He said he would send a crew first thing the next morning to do the job. They show up the next day with all the equipment and a full crew. The owner looks at the driveway and then tells me that the estimate I received was from his brother in law and he's new to the business and that the bid he put in writing was too low. What he wanted me to pay was 80% higher than the original bid! I said no and reminded him of the conversation we had yesterday and he still insisted that the bid was way too low. He then began using used car salesman tactics to try to get me to pay a little more tan the bid was for. I explained that I did not have enough to pay what he wanted. We came to a reasonable counter offer and I explained I could do afford it in the spring if he came back, but I insisted that he, the owner of the business put the new bid in writing. He then tells me that he's all out of the slips he has to write up his bids! I laughed and told him to leave. Avoid these clowns, they are con artists who obviously pull this crap often. read more

A little over a year ago, I had New England Paving lay down an asphalt "bump" at the end of my driveway to keep water from pouring on to it. I had talked to one of the owners, Sam, about the bump and what I wanted it to do; he said that a it could be done. The first time the snow plow man came, 3/4ths of the bump popped up and broke into pierces. I notified Sam who said that of course that was going to happen; that it was very chancery putting such a piece there. I replied that he should have told me. Eventually he said he would come and take the asphalt debris away. I pointed out that I had paid $300 for the bump, and I wanted some sort of reimbursement (the actual cash, or credit toward some other work). I called him repeatedly to come to do the work. He never came. HE NEVER REIMBURSED ME FOR THE FAILED JOB. I have had to hire someone to take up the rest of the bump and to take the asphalt away. Really unreliable company. read more
