It all began when I called Landscape Express in April, I felt like the cashier as well that the "yard manager" (who I awoke from his nap in the Bobcat) at Martignetti were inconvenienced by me needing some loam. I got the answering machine and thought nothing of it. About 5 minutes later Richie called me back asking how he could help me *** Huge kudos for the extra effort*** I asked him his price on loam and he was cheaper by $1.00 a yard, not a huge savings, but considering his general attitude and only being 1.5 miles further down the road I opted for Landscape Express, and am I glad I did. If you've never been to Landscape Express, Richie not only rings you out but also loads you up, so there is no dealing with yard personnel unless he is very busy (BTW all his yard workers are as friendly as he is) Being a homeowner, it was so nice to see that my money was just as important as they guy behind me buying 15 yards of loam. I just recently went back to purchase crushed stone for my garage foundation and even though I accidentally came after hours (they close at 4pm in July) Richie was as helpful as ever. This otherwise reputable painting company was contracted to paint 5 rooms (kitchen, three bathrooms…read moreand a finished basement room), a foyer and a hallway in our house during a renovation. When it was "completed" we noticed that there was (1) no signs of any wall prep/sanding/repair, (2) primer paint visible throughout after they claimed to paint "two coats" of wall color paint and (3) areas of the bathroom with no new primer or paint. They used our hot water heater's emergency tap to clean their paint sprayer, leaving an inch of black dust over the entire heater closet. They left a ladder and several tools behind for 3 months. We did give FTP a chance to fix (or honestly complete) the original two coats during a follow-up walk-through that we requested. The manager was belligerent and irritated by us bringing attention to large swaths of unpainted wall and he consistently denied those areas had not "had two coats applied". Regardless, another painter from their company came some time later and did some trim work that was unfinished and some touch up. But two of the bathrooms remain half finished and will require us to personally re-paint their "professional work". To have a local favorite painter in town treat our local house carelessly hurt a lot. We understand that summer labor shortages sometimes mean hiring less qualified and experienced painters but this was a sub-DIY job and seemed to be an inconvenience. Which would be fine if we were not paying premium painter prices.
