These guys talk a good talk but in the end they rush and they do not follow industry standards at all so beware, I see some decent reviews but my guess is they are planted by Action paving and are not real reviews but tha'ts just my business sense... Cracks all along the sides and open rock on top everywhere as well. Weed growing out of the asphalt to boot... Looks really bad and there is no good performance at all. I will have to pay to have it sealed twice to cover the shitty workmanship....If you hire these guys you better get everything in detailed writing and stand there and watch what they do...I wouldn't recommend them to an enemy read more

Action Paving gave us a quote on July 19 2021, we hired them to redo and widen our driveway. They were supposed to remove the old driveway but only removed around the edges of the old driveway And paved OVER the old one. While they were widening the driveway the hut our house and said they would fix it. Their roller sunk in the new part that they added and the had to drag it out with a chain. The grade on the sides and back are 12+ inches above the grass. They then "patched" the hole where it sunk. They said they would be back to fix both but have not seen or heard from them. I have called and text multiple times to get no answered. They took my money and ran. I would stay clear of this company as they promised to come back and we are now 3 years out and they still have yet to fix this nightmare. I'm a mother of 4 kids and don't have the money to fix this, I put that money aside to have this done. I'm just shocked a company would do this! read more

Unless you have a simple driveway to be done, run away. If you decide to stay, make sure you get a typed-out quote and a contract. Another review claimed them to be predatory and I cannot argue against that claim after my experience. I had very similar experience with a $3,500 increase for additional prep work and material, which I did not have an issue with given my driveway. Too much back and forth to get my heated driveway finished. Then Jay tries to tell me the electrician for mat install was not included in his quote and that will be extra. Meanwhile his "electrician" was a fire alarm guy and was his first time installing a driveway heat system. The base coat work was rock solid. The topcoat has cracks in it already (1 week after install with no driving on it) and I have zero faith regarding the longevity or his ability to honor his own warranty. read more

They gave us a very reasonable estimate. They came the next morning and by mid afternoon my double wide driveway was newly paved. They did excellent work, they had a friendly crew, they did it exactly as we wanted and I'm very happy with the service. read more

Jay and crew just installed a new driveway at my home. They had to remove existing L-shape driveway that had a drainage issue, water running into garage. On top of that, they found that the area where driveway met the street was very damp and soggy. They built a ditch and removed the soil and had to wait to get more gravel before they could proceed. Even w the extra work, they finished the entire job in one day and it looks great. BM read more

I called Action Paving to let them know that one of their trucks was hauling equipment that had rocks and pebbles bouncing out and spraying cars that were traveling on the highway. A large rock hit my windshield and could have caused me to lose control of my car. They hung up the phone on me. When I called back to tell them I was going to report them to the registry and the BBB they swore and told me there was nothing I could do about it and hung up again! Maybe there is nothing I can do about it but I sure can Yelp about it!! read more

Dishonest father & son team! Predator business- stay away!!! check with BBB 1st shameful for the paving industry, ACTION PAVING of Rowley, On Monday 9/16/13, around 11:30am a young man name Staniey came into our office, located in Weymouth, MA ,identified himself as the son of ACTION PAVING. He told us his paving company just finished a job near by and that he had some leftover asphalt. He claimed he could give us a good deal if we hired him and quoted me $3.75 per sq ft. My understanding was that this is the going rate for a new drive way. I also believe that normally they will prep the ground, level it with a minimum of a few inches of asphalt then smooth it and seal it as the final step. Since winter in coming and a few spots in our lot need to be repaired, I decided to take him up on the offer. I took Staniey to show him the three spots -each of them approximate 4' x 8' size + a small pot hole . I also showed him an area that was patched about two years ago and asked him if they can do a small patch job there. I stated I would need their help with removing all loose hard top and debris to repair this area - his answer was "SURE". Based on my calculations, my repairs totaled around 100-150 sq ft of 3 - 4" thick fresh asphalt to complete the patch job. Two years ago a local paving company, under the same circumstance [left over], did repair a few spots in a much smaller area costing us about $500.00. The story goes on, big trucks show up an hour later with a team of 7-8 guys. I did show them the spots needing repair. I went out and moved a couple cars out of the way (to the front of building) then they started to unload their equipment and start the job. Around 2pm, an hour and half later, Staniey from ACTION PAVING came inside our office asking for payment. When we went out back together, he showed me what they did-what are surprise! They were re-paving the middle of our parking lot in a LARGE T shape area! Staniey from ACTION PAVING demanded a $7,000.00 payment for what they did to my lot. What a poor repair job they did****. From what the cctv footage shows, not even one inch of old cracked asphalt was taken out from the lot. It looks like they just dumped the entire left over onto my lot, spread it as wide as they could, not caring what will happen in the winter weather and . They created ledges from 1" to 3" all around the new asphalt edges- which will be a nightmare for my plow guy. As it turns out, Staniey from ACTION PAVING threatened that if he did not get a check for $2000.00 payable to him, he will have his help stop and leave our lot unfinished leaving us to deal with the pile of asphalt in the middle of our parking lot ourselves. Note that asphalt hardens when it cools down and will not stick. Conclusion: I just filed with the BBB. I am also in the process of filing a small claim. I will report to all search engines what a dishonest, greedy predator he is. This is a shameful practice for the paving industry. read more

Action paving gets the job done right, with no fanfare, just good hard work and cooperation. We just hired them to do a complicated driveway removal-reinstallation in another area and NOTHING we asked for was a problem. They also did a "basic" driveway for us; one small job and one huge job. Bill, the owner is low key, professional and is a good listener, which was great for me as I had so many questions. He listened and gave us the information we needed in order to make the right decisions. The crew he brings are incredibly diligent, humorous, and obviously get along with each other which says a lot for the man who runs the business. I had some plants I had forgotten to move, and started to do so, and 3 of the workers literally hurried over and said we will do that. I seriously never met them before this job and would highly recommend them for the quality of work, the price and the quality classy people who were on the job. read more
