Not only is the view from the observation deck/tower excellent so are all of the well done displays on all sorts of topics relevant to the area. From lumbering to mining, to the flora and fauna to the native Americans, etc, etc. A really cool place where you can easily spent an hour or two (they even have some walking trails on the property). Also if you are into getting National Park passport stamps this is one place to get them for the Apostle Island National Lakeshore. A must stop!

I like looking at the handmade items along with the books There is usually some local artwork of interest. My experience with the person running the store was not as 'friendly' as some of the other posters. I was greeted pleasantly and made small talk while browsing. All was going well until the man at the desk asked me if I was taking pictures on my cell phone. I was standing near the front counter using my cellphone to text my friend where to meet me. I was so insulted and embarrassed in front of other customers. So be warned - phones away and hands up if you shop there.

There are like 50% of unique type antiques, but this has such great stuff, and it is not a tourist trap of stuff. It has some local artist pictures and other artist stuff. There is clothes, jewelry , trinkets, so much you just have to go inside and check it out. The girl behind the counter was so friendly, and the prices are not unreasonable. Please check them out. Dissapointed, I got the flat top back on and the cover on. There was oil all over my hands. I put it back in its original box. I couldn't get a refund, so I put it back in my luggage.
