REALLY disappointing, very limited selection, if you want a Yankees or Bills hat this is a great spot, if you want any other team no need to waste your time here, just order it online, the Tokyo flagship store blows this one away, I love the New Era 5950 and have a ton of them but wanted one from world headquarters, that didn't happen, on the plus side I left with my wallet intact. If I happen to be in the U.K. Or Berlin I might give another flagship store a visit, this one was a complete bust for me. I've been to a typical Lids store in lots of malls all over and they usually have a better selection than I found here. read more

Terrible online service. If I hadn't reached out I would have never received my package. It took several emails over the course of several days to get a response on an order that was three weeks late. Making matters worse, I paid additional money for an expedited shipment. This is the best of the best.... for Buffalo caps. New Era, the cap provider for MLB, NFL is headquartered right here in lil old Buffalo. A world-wide brand is here, and I really don't think that we tout it enough or give it enough of a chance. Ok, so there are your standard hat stores in every major mall, with hats from all over the mlb, nfl, nba. However, if you are really looking for your not so average, aka obscure hats, the flagship store you go. Buffalo Braves, yup. Buffalo Bisons, yup. The newest on the field NFL, yup. Probably 25 different yankees, yup. The best selection of Bills and Sabres hats, and caps, yup. Now I've had some of this questionable service that others have mentioned. You are in their store, and even being a guy with a hat in hand, and a hat on, they didn't necessary rush over. But when I did need help they were great. One of the really cool things they do at the store is have a machine that uses steam to make a hat fit better on you. (aka expand) Styles are always changing, and they have the newest of the new. FInally they put your new hat into a box and a small bag, almost boutique like. A must stop, must visit! read more

Honestly, it's pretty awesome to know that downtown Buffalo is home to a company as well known as New Era. Such a flagship really is a distinction, and it's easy to imagine such a store existing in Times Square, in D.C., in Dallas, in some larger metropolis. But no, it's in Buffalo, and that should be a great thing, a celebrated thing. Certainly the New Era building is impressive. Certainly the store is well kept and picturesque. (Am I wrong in thinking that they film quite a few commercials and promos there?) So given the space, given that it is their flagship store, why does this place fail so miserably? I've walked into this store numerous times. Never was I greeted. Never was I asked what I was looking for. Despite being smaller than my studio apartment, the salespeople hired here are laidback and unenthusiastic about their jobs. This might not be problematic in a self-service store like an Apple store or most clothing retailers where customers have the ability to interact with a product, but New Era's walls only display models all of the same size. In order to even try on ANY other sized hat, the assistance of store personnel is necessary. More proactive personnel (or personnel who better understand how retail service is supposed to work) is badly needed. How on earth a flagship store can degenerate to this condition right under the noses of its overlords (literally greeting them as they walk in the front door) is beyond me. New Era needs help. One more problem plagues the customer experience. Though I understand the store to favor a contemporary and rather minimal style, LABELS would help. Presently, caps are hither thither assorted, with only some baseball caps in one section, only some football caps in another, only some college in another, and so on. Further, the caps are not sorted alphabetically, by division, by color, or by any other method I can understand. Yet further, there seems no rhyme or reason to many of the caps available. I visited thrice before a regular black and white Brooklyn Nets cap was available despite the availability of faux-retro (which makes NO sense in the Nets' case), camo, and away jersey colors. The rationale for the sale of non-canon Hartford Whalers hats (but not the regular colors) likewise baffles me. New Era, get a grip!! Given Buffalo's continuing renaissance, this store could easily become one of the anchors for a retail resurgence downtown. It most assuredly should be more than it is now. Sadly, now that I know my size, I'd rather just order my next cap online rather than face this mess. 1 star for service 3 stars for appearance 2 stars for organization 2 stars overall read more

My mom used to work here as a seamstress for over 15 years! Back at the original plant and when they moved. This location is the newest. She would always bring caps home to my cousins. I remember those 'Fifty Nine Fifty' strips like everywhere in her room. It was cool because the owner Chris always used to bring the New Era Bus on site and let the employees and their kids tour it and have free stuff and entertainment. New Era is like the leader of the industry. Quality, Quality Consistency is what comes to mind when I think of this place. read more

I live in Maryland and ordered a hat for my friend who has testicular cancer who lives in Philadelphia. It'll be a month since I made the order online this week. They never once mentioned that it would take this long to fulfill the order. If they'd mentioned it, I definitely wouldn't have put the order in. When I emailed customer support, they said it usually take 1-2 weeks.. It's been almost a month.. My friend still hasn't received his hat. And when I checked the tracking number this morning, the hat finally appears to have reached UPS. read more

Walked in, 4 employees were standing around talking to each other, didn't bother to acknowledge me or my fiancé, walked around for a few minutes with still no acknowledgement, and left unacknowledged again. I found this place on the web just browsing for hats on a new era website and found out that they had a Flagship store in Buffalo, and Buffalo is only about an hour and a half from were I'm working and I had nothing better to do but go on a mini road trip to see if I could find some new hats and whatever else they may have here. I pulled up to the store which is a 3 story building wow! As I was walking up to could see the store through the windows, it wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be but as I got into the building there was a display window, and a New Era Chopper that thing was smooth! I wanted to jump on it and ride it off but there was a security guard there. Off to the right they had a display case of famous hats, tribute hats and memorabilia of New Era's history. Pretty cool. Off to the left is the store and they had hats lots of them, they had a small selection of shirts etc.. hats carrying case's and a machine that repaired old hats (make it fit like new) or stretch new hats to the size you want. I ended up walking out of here with three new hats 2 Chicago Blackhawk's and an Atlanta Flames vintage hat. Atlanta's pro hockey team (NHL) from 1972 to 1980 then they relocated to Calgary. I also got two 6 hat carrying case's should have got two more but there's always next time! They do not make personalized hats but on there website there's a number you can call to have hats made for corporations and teams so if you spend enough money you could get some hats made I'm sure. 3 different company's you can call BNS, New Era Park, and CF brand (for corporations) this is under (About New Era) on the top of the tool bar on the website. read more

The only place I could have gone to get me a Tokyo Katanas hat, the New Era store has a great selection of hats catering to Buffalo. Old school teams, looks, you name it they got it. Definitely worth stopping into if you're a Buffalo sports fan who likes to wear hats. read more

We go every year we are in Buffalo. This was the final time. They need to get better customer service. The one guy was crazy on a rant the whole time. They could have cared less of they helped us found hats that fit. My kids are so disgusted they never want to go back. So sad we always used to have great service. read more

They have all sorts of hats here. I went here and was able to find the Bisons blue home hat for this year with the All Star Game patch on the side of it. I was surprised that they did not have the hats with the patch at Coca Cola Field. If you are looking for a large selection of New Era hats look no further! read more

First off, good to see some neg. reviews. This location is a total let-down. Even my brother said Lids has more of a selection--probably close to being true---...... I stopped by the Delaware loc. this past thurs....they didn't have sizes in 2 of my 3 Bills choices--and my only Bisons choice was out of stock as well......mind you, this is theeee "flagship" location..... And to top it off, ZERO Buffalo Braves caps--guy working the floor had no clue--to pretty much anything. I sent corporate a similar vent as this and while they replied, and they offered me wimpy 10% off my next purchase.....BIG WHOOP....thats like NYS tax....for someone who's touted them for years/purchased quite a few of their caps and have been waiting YEARS to visit, and woulda spent $200+.....a lame visit and a poor customer relations reply--go visit some other cultural landmark, these guys ain't worth the time of day....sorry..........sigh.... read more
