Ace Flag & Gifts is a shop you've probably driven by while whizzing down Transit Road and thought, I should pop in there some time. It is one of the most delightful places to experience if it's a flag, a flagpole or somewhat unusual gift you're looking for. There were themes nicely organized and clear pathways to peruse: ALL things Buffalo Bills (not just flags), floral, artsy looking flags, and naturally, American flags. Just look at the photos and you can see all sorts of interesting ideas for gift giving. Perhaps most impressive was the assistance we received from the friendly staff. Yes, you *could* go on amazon and get things, but there is actually knowledge behind the size of the flagpole relative to the flag you have, and things about their in-stock poles they could demonstrate. I learned the pole we bought has a feature that prevents the flag from wrapping around itself, and what the clip was for, etc. And there's something to be said for actually seeing and feeling the item before purchasing. After purchasing a quality, heavy gauge telescoping flagpole, I needed a strong base for mounting it on top of our concrete in our backyard. Now, for all the inexperienced and "nay-sayers" out there - I successfully installed this flagpole on top of a solid concrete pad (6+ in. thick) as pictured. I almost ordered another brand deck mount for telescoping flagpoles, but after more research I found a comparable and less expensive "Dock Mount for Telescopic Flagpole" (3 iin. O.D.), thru "Ace Flag & Visual Promotions" out of Depew, N.Y. Their customer service was awesome, very friendly and very helpful! I installed the Dock Mount with four "Parawedge" 3/8" x 3-3/4" concrete anchors from Home Depot. (Be sure the drill w/masonry drill bit is held as vertically straight as possible while drilling!) Directions call for min. 2 3/8" depth of hole but recommend adding ¼" to that depth, making sure to completely cleaning out holes after drilling, by blowing in them with a baster type squeeze tube, small rubber tube or even a bent straw. I did have to lightly tap the threaded studs left or right after installing them for a better fit of the base plate. I also recommend applying a corrosion inhibitor and lubricant spray to the entire telescoping pole sections which not only protects but helps in smoother movement. I also treated the studs and nuts since they are only galvanized steel and exposed to the elements. Since installation over a week ago, the flagpole and mounting base have withstood several days of very brisk winds here in southern California! Very pleased with both! read more

I found this company, the price is great, flag made in the U.S. in less than 24 hours it was ready to ship. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the order as the sister of the veteran had replaced the flag. I called and was able to cancel the order with no problem. The person installing the flag was very nice, and did a wonderful job, and I am satisfied with the work. The reason I'm giving the company two stars is due to the fact, they are very misleading about the price. When asking about the price they only stated 1/3 of what it actually came to. After questioning why it was so much they stated it was the cement cost, which is extremely overpriced. read more

I had a flag made and my error was not finding the flag designer's misspelling of the team name that I sent to them in a file. What company can not transfer the correct spelling from what is sent to them in an email? The resolution was 10% off another flag. What a slap in the face. I assumed that they spelled the name correctly as it was right on what was sent to them. Their fault, my fault but 10% off another flag? Who would want them to make another flag when they couldn't spell right the first time? Will go somewhere else to have another flag made. read more

When we bought our home last year it was always a dream of mine to have a flagpole to go along with our great backyard. I knew when we moved here that Ace was the place just by driving by and seeing the store! We hoisted our classic great flagpole with the red white and blue and old school Buffalo Bills standing Buffalo flag today and it looks stunning. The 2 rungs are perfect to show my pride. From start to finish this was a very easy job flow and they got the flagpole in well before their anticipated date of after Memorial day. The girls in the store were awesome with their assistance in person and on the phone and today when we saw the truck and pole pull up we were quite happily surprised. I am remiss by not getting the guys name but he put up the pole effortlessly and in a short period of time. Its a 20 foot steel pole ( I did discuss options but decided on this one and am glad I did) with a sharp bright gold ball at the top and with the pulley it moves according to the always changing wind currents here and will minimize flags getting tangled. We had just had the hole for the pole dug barely a week ago and we were not expecting anything understandably till after Memorial Day. What a great surprise!
