Avoid at all costs. We used New Era Escrow for the purchase of our new home and nearly lost our down payment. New Era's IT system was compromised and we were provided fraudulent wire instructions on multiple occasions from the escrow officer's email account. None of the wire instructions from New Era were password protected. There are an abundance of horror stories online of homebuyers who have lost their down payment and homes as there is no recourse once wires are sent. I have been trying to get in touch with New Era regarding this for over a month now but they refuse to acknowledge the issue. They even tried to pass the blame to me saying that my email was hacked, not theirs, and that this could happen to anyone. It's extremely alarming that they could be so careless in such an important matter. I have documents proving all of the above including conversations with employees at New Era. Please, avoid using New Era and use a company that actually values your security. read more

Recently purchased a home where the seller used New Era Escrow. As a buyer, my experience was terrible. From the start they were very slow and unresponsive to questions. Missed a key date early on in the process that could have jeopardized the closing process. Most emails were ignored, and when I did receive a response it was a few days later from the agent, Terrica's, assistant. The electronic forms were rife with errors. As the process wore on, I grew increasingly concerned that they wouldn't be able to close the deal. To add insult to injury, New Era requires you as a buyer to opt-in to them selling your info to businesses. Asked multiple times if I could opt-out of this but after receiving no response, I bit the bullet and went forward with it to not jeopardize closing of the deal. Guess who is receiving tons of SPAM mail now in our new home? Fortunately, our home purchase did close in the end, which is why I am give 2 stars instead of one. But, if you're a seller considering New Era Escrow, I'd ask yourself is it really worth using an escrow that places a risk on your transaction and makes it harder for your buyer? An escrow service that doesn't meet deadlines is the last thing you need during an already stressful process. read more

I am a real estate investor & have never worked with such an incompetent Escrow company. My escrow officer Mia Kemp has no customer service skills & seems to have a problem doing her job at all. She never once came to the phone when I called. NEVER returned a single call or email. I left multiple VM's for her & messages with reception. I asked 6 times for a net sheet of my closing costs for over 3 weeks. My agents requested it, even my lender asked when I couldn't get her to respond to my calls or emails. I never got it. The office seemed to always have "computer issues" or they were "in a meeting" when I called. I'm calling BS. I requested help from others in the office but was always told that I had to deal with Mia. Even when I would tell them she wouldn't even talk to me. It took 5 separate requests and 3 weeks for them to even send my lender a preliminary title report. Title reports are supposed to be pulled as soon as escrow opens. Insist on another escrow company if you want a smooth process. And if you are stuck with New Era, don't work with Mia. read more

Shannon is very hard to work with and extremely rigid. She is charging the seller on an escrow that we had to cancel with her $2000 to release her deposit! Although the escrow had been sitting at New Era for a long time, no actual work had really been done. She had not even received the seller's escrow instructions back which is where most of the work comes from. I have an escrow company myself and I have never heard of a $2000 cancellation fee...EVER! I strongly urge you checking out the cancellation fees and policies (which does not state any actual fee) BEFORE you decide to use Shannon because once she has your money...there's not prying it out of her cold and bitter hands....smh. read more
