Personally I liked how my masseuse used a lot of elbow techniques which definitely applied a lot of pressure and I needed that for my stiff/tight muscles. Though my sister had a great massage and it helped with her migraine, she still had it because migraines as you know lingers for a long while. Rose, one of the owners who was checking us out offered a few more minutes of a head massage to my sister to see a smile on her face which of course it did. They listen to you and help you where you need it most. Today hubby had his lower back and shoulder problem. In 30 min he felt better. (They were fully booked today). I have had many foot massages in my past but never at this place. I phoned and booked an appt. for 3pm - they quoted me $58 for 50 minutes for foot reflexology - good price. As I walked there, I live close by, I realized I was 15 minutes early 2:45--and that was when I was half a block away I saw my watch---they took me in set me up in the back area. It had a slight funky smell I couldn't quite place but comfortable recliner vinyl chairs with nice, dark lighting. They brought me black tea which I don't drink -- I said I'd do Green tea though? No, they don't have that and then they brought me water--water is good. I tell you all this because time is ticking by... I took off shoes and socks they brought foot bath as per norm had me turn around and move to the ottoman and the woman started to rub my shoulders--it was nice but I was there for my feet. Places often do this though to start as a complimentary service as your feet soak. That done, I moved back to the chair while she took the tub away I looked at my watch and it was 2:58 pm. She returned and thankfully moved onto my foot reflexology--it was a nice massage but not the best -- wasn't bad, kinda' just ok, but the woman was nice and friendly. Then very quickly it was over she got a hot towel to clean the oil off my feet and I looked at my watch and it was 3:34pm---whaaa? This was supposed to be a 50 minute massage for $58. So I said that it was not long enough--the very nice masseuse said 'oh the shoulder rub was part of it and the foot soak.' I noted I did not ask for a shoulder rub--I wanted a foot massage--she then had to talk with 'her boss' who proceeded to arrive and argue with me ruining any relaxation I had previously achieved saying basically -- 'too bad that was what they did there'. Now if I had wanted a combination massage I would have booked a combination massage, they have that available too for purchase---I wanted simply a 50 min foot massage--but now I just wanted to leave! What they should have done is just add another minimum 10 minutes as it was pretty obviously a lean service. I had said what time it was when the foot massage begun--not to mention what time I had actually arrived thru the front door---so it should have at least gone on for another 13 minutes. I had had enough arguing I put my shoes on as the 'boss' angily left the back area. I still gave my masseuse a $10 cash tip--was not her fault for the nastiness of her boss and their ridiculous policy. The nasty 'boss' was conveniently on the phone when I went up to pay. So I paid $60.90 (+$10 tip) for a nice but not great 36 minute foot massage--with a side helping of stress afterwards from the mean, non customer service friendly 'boss'. I wish I had asked if she was the owner? I write this to let others know what they may experience, and be forewarned of their practises as well as if this 'boss' does not own the establishment - the one who does own it knows what is actually going on there. I was the only customer there for the duration---which now makes a lot of sense.

Within minutes she works out the kinks and knots in my neck/shoulder and you can hear that crunchimg sound of the tight fascia tissue being released. Perhaps not the right terms but let me tell you, it sounds and feels so satisfying! I feel relaxed and a bit tender next day which is a sign of a good massage. The environment is peaceful and clean too. There is paid street parking in the front. I've tried many RMTs in the past and although this is not a RMT massage, Nancy has made me feel better than them because of how she can target those knots in my shoulder. Since I work during the day, I prefer an evening time which can be difficult unless you book a week in advance. I look forward to coming back!

What should have left me feeling better after a one hour session, left me feeling nothing but "need" for a better massage after. --- early bird special here is a really sweet deal ($39 before 3pm). I felt like the rooms are perfectly fine. I can see why some people think it resembles a hospital room, but I was perfectly fine with it and the songs they played downstairs. I like how the noise level was kept to a minimal and there's the option of a room on the second floor where you can have your massage in the same room with a friend. However, I prefer downstairs over upstairs. It's a lot less quiet upstairs. My masseuse Tracy wasn't too good....in the sense that I hardly felt anything after the massage. However, I wouldn't mind trying a different masseur/ masseuse next time. Luna's not bad as a masseuse. Favourite so far would be Kelly :) (non RMT) And New favourite, but he's an RMT.... Pricier, but well worth it if you're covered :) Phillip's the name. I was 10 minutes late but he was very chill about everything and gave me my full hour of massage therapy. My shoulders feel so much better/ relaxed now. You definitely feel an obvious difference. He also explained a lot of stuff in Chinese to me and showed me some stretches to improve my problem areas. He speaks English rather well, I just prefer using Chinese. On a side note, they have 3 registered RMT's here that work from Monday to Sunday with different availabilities. I suggest you call in to make an appointment beforehand :) I think this place deserves 4.5 stars :)
