Had a wonderful experience here! My mom and I were visiting Vancouver and needed a massage after a week of activity. I was really excited that they managed to squeeze us in the same day! We opted for a 60 minute body massage and 30 minute foot massage. This place is a wonderful budget spa, and as such is reflected fairly in our experience. Both our masseuses were extremely communicative, asking throughout what pressure was comfortable and what areas we wanted to have attention to. I was especially impressed at how cautious and respectful my attendant was; she would ask if it was ok to rub my lower back and other such sensitive areas. The foot rub was spectacular. I unlocked the Yelp salt scrub to go along and was not disappointed. My feet feel like a baby's bottom! They also give you tea, chocolates, and comfy blankets which were a nice touch. They could improve on the following; during the massage, our masseurs went in and out of the room several times, which was a bit noisy and distracting. We also were both bothered by the massage tables; the face donut did not have a cushion that wrapped completely around the frame, so I had to keep adjusting my face so that there was not an imprint of the frame in my forehead lol. I sat nearest to the entrance, a bit noisy from the mall chaos, would be best if they had a swinging door to muffle the outside noise, especially for relaxing The pressure was u real! Like no other massage They started with my arms and worked on my thighs calves and feet! It was such a good pain, something I needed especially being 31 weeks pregnant! Unfortunately, today wasn't the best experience at ToeToSoul. This is my absolute favourite place to go to for a relaxing massage but today was horrible. The lady that gave me my massage was nice enough and really believed she was doing a great job. She kept asking me how is the pressure. I kept telling her more, more. Apparently she didn't understand or just didn't have energy. I left no different than when I went in. I didn't feel like I had a 110 minute massage. It was truly disappointing experience. What's worse I feel as though I was not valued as a customer. I was advised by the receptionist that next time I should advise I need someone that can administer a deeper massage. I had a wonderful experience at ToetoSoul Relax Lounge. My mom and I planned on getting a full body massage for weeks now and we finally did it. We decided to get a well-deserved Combo Bliss B - 60 min Body Massage + 50 min Foot Reflexology which costs $109 (tax & tip not included). As soon as we arrived the place, we were greeted by the friendly receptionist and asked if we needed anything before we proceed to our massage room. Calvin, my masseur, was very attentive and thoughtful. He always asked if the pressure he was giving was fine. He even gave me pillows for my back while we were doing the foot reflexology because he noticed that I looked uncomfortable because I couldn't reach the foot soak. He's kind and warm. He sort of reminded me of Mr. Bates from the series Downtown Abbey, kidding aside. Key points: - The place was clean and the ambiance was nice. - The price for their services is affordable compared to other day spas. - They offer jasmine green tea and two dark chocolate bars while you enjoy your massage. - They have two washrooms and a number of private rooms for your massage. I went for a combo session of 50 mins foot reflexology + 1 hr body massage. The reflexology session was very good. The lady working on me had really good technique and was very pleasant. However, the massage was AWFUL. Really, really awful - easily the worst massage I have ever had in my life. I enjoy very firm pressure, but the guy was just jabbing at my muscles, and pushing and pressing my body parts in a disjointed fashion. There was no flow whatsoever and my skin felt sore in some places at the end of it just from the sheer amount of chafing. It was not relaxing at all, really quite the opposite. Another negative aspect about this place is that when I came in as a walk-in client, the manager said I would receive a voucher for a complimentary service for a subsequent visit, since this was my first time there. But after I received my services and paid, she said I was not eligible for it and didn't provide a reason. I left it at that, but I really don't like this kind of sketchiness from businesses - like they try to hook you in and then renege. In any case, I will not be returning. read more

A bit pricier at first glance: 48 min for $50, but when you lay back in these leather, super comfy lounge chairs that also recline, this is a bonus. I caught myself snoozing twice in the later part of the session ;) Angel sure knows her pressure point around the feet: under, sides, top, and especially the heels. You do the amount of shopping and eating as I do, a weekly foot session is definitely a must ;) She did start off with a arm/shoulder massage for about 5 min. Near the end, when they bring out the wet hot towel to wipe off the oil, she still gave a 5-min chopping motion along the legs, a nice bonus. Nice touch they provide 2 chocolate snacks with your tea or water. Free parking in the back, but what's weird is that there's no back entrance so you have to walk all the way around. No amex. As most other reviewers had commented, the place is very clean, spacious with a nice tranquil atmosphere. There is meditative music playing throughout, and though the cars from Broadway can be distracting when it's really quiet (if you're the only one there as I was), it's a really relaxing lounge. I'm not sure if the receptionist was new, but he didn't know the process of signing in people with vouchers from Groupon - even though there were pages and pages of other customers, so I knew I was not the only one. I had bought a voucher for 3 appointments of either 45-minute upper-body massage with herbal pad placement and essential oil or a 50-minute foot-reflexology. I went all three times for the upper-body massage. For my first appointment, I had an older Chinese man, and though I was in pain most of the time since he was pressing too hard, I forced myself through it since I thought it would 'unwind' my tightly knotted muscles. Bad mistake. Even after 3 days, I was sore. I decided that for next time, I would ask to have a gentler massage. Near the end, the hot pack was placed on my shoulders. A bit hot at the beginning, but soothing afterwards. When the man came to pick it up, he said it's done and "go drink water." was all he said as he carried away the hot pack and that was that. The abrupt ending was kind of a turn-off. He came by to clean out the garbage can at the cashier as I paid, so I guess he was preparing for the end of his shift? Though it was only 8:30pm, and they're open till 10. But he didn't say thank you and avoided any eye contact. If you're there with the voucher, you'll be asked to pay for all three sessions' taxes after the first session. Remember to know how much tip you want to give before hand as the % on the taxes (on the machine) doesn't give you the right amount of tip for the service! (because it's calculating a percentage on the taxes only, not on the service) Second Time My second upper body massage was a much better experience. A different receptionist greeted me who seemed new to the job again, but otherwise, I was served tea with 2 pieces of chocolate. Very nice! Perhaps they forgot it the first time I went? This time, it was still 6:30pm on a Tuesday evening, and the staff were busy with 3-4 other customers, but I didn't have to wait too long. The masseuse was a lady this time, and for most of it, I believe it was well done. I don't like the slapping part as I am just skin and bones, so it wasn't all too pleasant. Third, Final Time The receptionist this time was what seemed like the manager, whom I'd seen the previous two times. He greeted me and offered me tea and chocolates. This time, it was a different Chinese man. From the moment I saw how he looked at me, I could sense something. There was a lot more direct physical contact (the other two used towels as much as possible to minimize skin contact - not that I am against skin contact in the first place), and it could be my imagination, but he worked on the lower end of my body the more than other two, though nothing that crossed the line. He was more curious about me, asking where I worked and if it was close by to this spa and such. Nothing terrible, but I don't think I'd come back if he was the only one that worked there. Massage was always amazing there but this time around I found the place was super dirty, blankets and towels are noticeably unwashed. We chose to do Bliss C service which is a combo of 45 min upper body and 55 min foot reflexology. The pressure of my massage was perfect except during the 55 foot reflexology part, they no longer work on my legs thighs, only the feet. Hmmm. Overall it's a good massage and will give them a try one more time to see if they up their cleanliness. It's super gross seeing so many dirts and dusts on the floor. read more

Always ask for Max! Because of him I will always come back! I only gave it 4 stars as they need to have separation of walls and not curtains between the three private massage rooms. You can hear everything beside you and it's not alway pretty if you know what I mean LoL. I had a 60 min full body and 55 min reflexology! Max's hands and technique were professional, calming and energy were better than some of the other therapists there. There must be something in that Spanish blood as I was fully relaxed from him giving me both the full body and reflexology. My husband and I called ToeToSoul around 11:30am and got appointments at 2pm for 2 upper body messages and my other half also booked a leg message. We arrived 10 minutes prior and got in a few minutes early to our appointments. The lounge was clean and quiet with soothing music playing the entire visit. I was greeted by my male message therapist (did not tell me his name) and asked to sit on the chair, meanwhile my husband was across from me with his therapist Rachael (whom he has seen a few times before and always enjoyed). My therapist asked if I had any upper body problems, I told him I had dislocated my left knee in February and had to re learn how to walk so my back has been in a bit of pain since. He nodded and gently placed a towel over my back then proceeded to message. Luckily the pressure was okay for me since he didn't ask any other questions. While the message felt nice and he did seem to know some pressure points it wasn't incredibly satisfying. When I had finished he ushered me over to my husband at the foot relaxing stations, and offered me a drink. While waiting for the water my husbands therapist Rachael asked why I didn't book a foot message. I told her all about my injury and recovery as well as my fear of being injured further by someone as my leg will not straighten all the way, she assured me there is a therapist that specializes in acupuncture and would know how to help my feet without injuring my leg... so I reluctantly agreed to give it a go. A few moments later the same therapist that worked on my back (again did not give me his name) came around the corner with a literal bucket of water and told me to just wait with my feet in the water for roughly 5 minutes. When he returned he moved my feet from the bucket onto an ottoman, surprisingly it was comfy. Honestly he didn't ask me any questions about my knee and lifted both legs and tried dropping them at the same time... that definitely hurt... After that I had a bit of a hard time relaxing as I felt that I almost needed ice. Even Rachael gave him a couple of looks... I have had way better foot messages at other places by more experienced people and would not recommend this place for lower leg or foot messages ESPECIALLY if you have a injury as he 100% did not know what he was doing with my knee. PS: was not offered a salt upgrade for the foot message which I only found out about after my husband asked why I didn't get it... However I would recommend a back message with him and or Rachael as long as you don't have a actual injury, you should probably see a RMT in this case. All in all I will most likely give this place another try but possibly with Rachael. read more

Skill level of masseuses is really hit or miss; searching after the fact turned up hiring ads on JPCanada that target working visa Japanese with no previous massage experience. I ended up with a massage + reflexology that felt good and was relaxing, but didn't leave my body with that tired euphoria you feel from a massage that's actually affecting deep tissue. Girlfriend spent 1hr getting upper body massage during the same visit, and left with new knots in her shoulder that I had to work out over the next couple days =P read more

The place was really clean, chairs comfortable, and I was provided with hot tea once I sat down. I only booked a 25-min appointment as it was my first time and I wasn't sure if I'd enjoyed it, but by the end I wish I booked a full 50-mins! Love the ambiance and the soothing music! The decor is beautiful, very nicely designed. It made me feel like I was in a fancy palace. The receptionist is really friendly and welcoming. There was a bit of miscommunication when booking for the type of message I wanted over the phone prior to my message. However, the problem was fixed and she handled the situation very well. I did the foot reflexology and the upper body message and it was great! My masseuse was really nice. He was able to provide me the right amount of pressure to my legs and upper body (you can always ask for small, medium or hard pressure at any given time). Overall it was a great experience! After a weekend of running, dancing and sore feet my husband and I decided that this would be a great way to spend our Sunday afternoon. I called at 11 am for an appointment at 1 and the gentleman was kind enough to squeeze us in. I was nervous being Chinese New Year but the gentleman was happy to book us in. My husband's service was incredible. We was thrilled to bits and was very relaxed while sipping on complimentary oolong tea and chocolates. My service was done by a younger European woman who seemed awfully confused. She kept looking around to see what the other people were doing and I noticed that my service did not resemble that of the services being offered by the other reflexologists. While my service felt nice, the woman did very little other than rub my feet and calves. She did not find any pressure points and I left very disappointed. I mentioned this when I left and they suggested I come back and try another person. If my husband's service hadn't been so wonderful I would say to avoid this place but I will give it another go. read more

My massage therapist, Amanda, although not RMT certified was skillful to release tension from my shoulder and runner's calves. There are duel massage rooms if you choose to spend a little R&R with a friend. This place isn't meant to be fancy. Please don't expect fluffy duvet beds and heaters like you expect from your typical five star hotel spa experiences. Guilty, because this was what I had initially imagined. Brought back to reality, from creeking massage tables and skillful hands, I was soon in zen mode. After my 50 min deep tissue massage, I made my way to the front for a 25 min reflexology session. A hot tub of water with sea salt greeted me on a La-Z-Boy. Reflexology is considered alternative medicine and has been practiced for throughout ancient China. It involves applying pressure to areas of the feet which corresponds to various zones throughout the body. Reflexology can be painful. Pain can be associated with choosing the wrong pressure (reflexology beginners, I recommend mild pressure!) or trouble zones in your body. As my painful but enjoyable reflexology session comes to end end; my masseuse draped a hot towel over my legs for a final release of tense muscles. I had the combo express 1 for 65 min that includes the 15 min upper body massage + 50 min foot reflexology as well as my first visit to receive a 10 min sea salt foot soak + 15 mins food scrub & foot massage. All that for $59 bucks. I love the sofa there while getting my foot reflexology done. I also find the back massage chair more comfy than the other places I've been to. The massage (50 min) was good (they checked to see if the pressure was okay, the draping was good) and the foot massage was great (25 min). We just wanted to try it out, but next time, we'll go for longer treatments. The room is nice and the foot massage chairs are really comfy. The therapists were excellent and talked with us just a little (not too much!!) and made us feel welcome. Also, great hours. 10am to 10pm will definitely fit my schedule. read more

I did a combo of reflexology and chair massage for $56. Totally worth it. The room: beautifully appointed wth dark hardwood, and blue sheer privacy curtains arojnd each dark leather chair. I was very impressed The service: I am not a reflexology expert by any means, this was my second treatment. Foot soak was with sea salts in warm water. The treatment was only 25 minutes but it was very thorough and didn't leave me wanting. The chair massage was also very thorough even though it was short too. I left feeling very relaxed and happy. The message technician can work on his communication skills. I had a casual conversation with the technician during my message. During the conversation, he told me to 'lower my voice' and said 'you are allowed to speak but you need to lower your voice'. It's a bit rude to tell your customer to lower her voice. In fact, I spoke in a very soft and gentle voice, and usually, people asked me to raise my voice so they can hear me. Anyway, he could deliver his message in a more pleasant way. read more

Since that one less than ideal experience, I always specify that I need an experienced person who can give a deep massage and wow - yesterday Jason exceeded my expectations for a 45 min. chair massage. I bought a package for 5 times on Groupons Cost about $30 per massage. Not a whole lot of savings because the one I go to regularly cost $33 and do foot and upperbody. The first 2 times that I went to this massage place was very good. The older guy is strong and hard and my 2nd time was a chinese lady and shes strong and hard too. However, my 3rd time was horrible. I kept telling the massage therapist to do it harder and she said don't worry, this is just for the warm up. But she was very weak, no pressure at all. After 20 minutes I asked her may you do it harder please because I can't feel anything but she said this is as hard as I can go. I don't understand why don't she just tell me she can't do it so I can change another person. She just wasted my chance and wasted my time and money. I didn't want to ask for another person because I feel a bit rude if I did that. ( It was the while lady around 35-50 years old. Iran? maybe) Dont choose her because she can't do any good massages The owner of this store is the tall chinese guy and he's polite. I complaint to him and I was frustrated to receive a bad massage from this place when the first 2 times was wonderful. He told me to mention hard pressure next time on the phone. 4th time, I made an appointment and this time I asked for a hard pressure massage therapist and I told the receptionist 3 times!!!! Guess what? She gave me a male massage therapist but he's not even professional. Not even an amateur. Not strong to give hard pressures at all. The most annoying thing that made me mad was when he used just one hand with his fingers and slightly touch my neck a bit and called it a massage. when he was doing that, he has another hand on his hip and standing on 1 foot while crossing over the other foot. t's like he was not paying attention or don't want to do it at all. He is the japanese guy around 20-25 years old. Do not choose him. When I left, I was very pissed and didn't like the service. The owner asked me how was it and I told him it was very horrible. I told them I wanted a hard pressure person and they gave me a weak person who probably just started this job recently. He told me to mention hard pressure on the phone next time and I said " I DID. 3 TIMES TOO " and he said oh really? he told the receptionist " you should give him the other guy. Yep that is all. He didn't offer me anything at all. Not that I want my money back but at least offer me something or a guarantee that I will have a hard pressure for my last massage. I will never go to this shop again even with Groupon deal. I will never trust Groupon's recommendation because they said " Toe To Soul " have over 90% of customers recommendations. This is for the Robson store. I had an appointment for 11 am, I got there at 10:53 am. I went inside and the receptionist jumped up and said they were not open, I told her that I had an appointment for 11 am. She said wait and went down the hall she came back and then waived someone in, a co-worker, I think. I asked her what do wait outside and she snapped at me and said she did not know she could come in, and gave me a filthy look. She then snapped again and said she would get to me in a minute. This is supposed to be a relax lounge not a place to upset people. I told her she was rude and I left. I called one of the other salons as I did not want to talk to her and they said a manager would call me back...still waiting. I will not go there and I will most certainly be telling my friends in the neighbourhood. I will go back to Holiday Feet who do a good job and are always polite and kind. Great place for reflexology and chair massage. The only issue I have is when customers come to have a gossip session with a friend. They're loud and unaware of how frustrating it is for others who came to relax. Sometimes staff are good at telling then to whisper but some just don't care and continue to talk loudly.
