We have been fortunate enough to have seen all kinds of wonderful performances with the symphony. We have seen everything from movie nights, classical performances, holiday concerts (The Holiday Pops Show, especially when conducted by Byron Strickland is the conductor.) and well known artists singing their greatest hits. They even do fun nights like Tropical Rock. We had a ball at that show. Tonight, we saw our favorite classical performance, Scheherazade. There was a guest conductor from New Zealand who was one of the best we have ever seen. She was so expressive and then highlighted all sections of the symphony and the guest violinist. The guest violinist and the first violinist of our Symphony were phenomenal. It was so well done especially the first song where they used the instruments to mimic rain and bird sounds. It was unbelievable. We were transfixed. If you have the opportunity go see a symphony performance. They are absolutely phenomenal and perform globally.

Even though it is a "theater" there is no stage which makes it a versatile space. We were able to set up seating for a panel discussion and guests along with cocktail tables. There was also a great deal of lighting options which can really add ambiance to your event. They also allow you to bring your own food and drinks which is a plus since a lot of venues lock you in to a certain caterer or don't allow outside items. The down side is that if the event is during the day, you need to find on street parking which can be a challenge in Lawrenceville. Overall a great space for a smaller special event.

Maybe a lot considering it was a nice, intimate place to view cats doing amazing things!! I was sitting in the second row on the left side and I still saw everything pretty clearly. As my very smart friend Aja J states, it would have been a bit better of they would have staggered the seats per row, but I still saw just fine. Maybe if I was in the back it would have been worse, considering the last two rows were standing the entire time. I can't blame them. It was exciting and I'd wanna see every second of it from the last row as well as the second. If you're coming here to see any type of show, I'd imagine it would be just as intimate. Would it be as amazing as a cat circus? Probably not. Not until the next time they come into town anyway!

It makes me so proud to see the talent in this city whenever I attend one of their shows. I guarantee you that if you check back each season you'll find at least one show to enjoy. Every year their line-up changes and it always features an incredible variety of shows. I've seen a classics such as "Antony and Cleopatra" to the interesting (but potentially uncomfortable) "In the Next Room (or The Vibrator Play)." My outright favorite evening with PICT was during a premiere of a play named "Our Class," which was an incredibly shocking but important play about, sadly, real events: a WWII mass murder of the Jewish community living in a town in Poland. No one wanted to speak during or after that show, and the actors handled the roles and portrayal of both inhumane actions and traumatic events incredibly and impressively well. Kudos to them and all of PICT for tackling such an imposing but important project. I have plans to see at least one more if not two more PICT performances this year; not once have they disappointed me, and their contributions to the theater scene in this city are always outstanding. More on that later, but let's talk about the group. The Old Schoolhouse Players (OSP) is a community theater group established in 1992 with the primary goal of bringing quality theatrical performances to the Hickory and Washington County areas in Pennsylvania. Over the years, OSP has presented over 100 dramatic and musical productions, enriching the local arts scene and fostering a strong sense of community through a shared love of theater. OSP was formed in 1992 by a group of passionate individuals who wanted to create a platform for local actors, singers, dancers, and theater enthusiasts to come together and showcase their talents. The theater group is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to nurturing the arts within the community and providing opportunities for members to develop their skills and passion for theater. OSP stages their productions in the Bud Allison Auditorium, located within the historically preserved Mount Pleasant Township Community Center at 20 Wasbash Avenue in Hickory, Pennsylvania. This charming venue offers an intimate theater experience for audiences and performers alike, with comfortable seating and excellent acoustics. Restrooms are downstairs, but they do have a handicap-accessible restroom on the first floor on the theater level. Notable Productions: Over the years, the Old Schoolhouse Players have presented a diverse range of theatrical productions, including popular musicals, dramatic plays, and original works. Some notable past productions include "The Sound of Music," "A Christmas Carol," "The Wizard of Oz," and "Our Town," among many others. Each production is carefully selected to appeal to a wide audience and showcase the talents of the theater group's members. I attended several performances here in May of this year, for a great production of Clue. The internationally popular game is a fun-filled musical adaptation that brings the world's best-known suspects to life and invites the audience to help solve the mystery: who killed Mr. Boddy, in what room, and with what weapon. The audience receives forms to help them deduce the solution from clues given throughout the fun-filled evening. Three audience members choose from cards representing the potential murderers, weapons, and rooms; there are 216 possible solutions! Only one hard-nosed female detective is qualified to unravel the merry mayhem. Comic antics, witty lyrics, and a beguiling score carry the investigation from room to room. Even after the culprit confesses, a surprise twist delights the audience. This colorful crowd-pleaser was devised by the authors of Murder at Rutherford House and other popular interactive entertainments. My daughter gave a fabulous portrayal that brought Miss Scarlet to life, creating a multi-dimensional character that was both enigmatic and charming. Catherine's portrayal of Miss Scarlet in Clue was nothing short of extraordinary. Her undeniable talent, beautiful vocals, charisma, and dedication to her craft made her a true force to be reckoned with on stage. She really rocked the blonde look, too! Also performing was my son-in-law, who not only sang but also danced with Catherine, which were my favorite moments. Alan's portrayal of Mr. Green in Clue was nothing short of outstanding. His hard work and passion for theater shone through, as he showcased his undeniable talent, charisma, and commitment to his craft, making for one of my most unforgettable performances that was both dynamic and energetic and lots of fun! Bottom Line: My experience with the Old Schoolhouse Players' production of Clue was truly unforgettable. The outstanding performances by the cast showcased their talent, dedication, and passion for theater. The intimate venue and engaging audience interaction made this theatrical experience even more special.
