Willie was our server. He remembered everything we ordered, and always was personable and attentive. New Heights Grill has been a favorite of mine for many years. We are still in the phase of finding new places in our new neighborhood, and I was REALLY excited when we read about this place. When we walked in, excitement increased. It has the neighborhood dive feel I love SO FREAKING MUCH. Like, I guarantee you there's a guy named Gary who comes in there 5 times a week who sits down at the bar and just gets handed the same beer he gets every time he's in there. There are probably ten Garys, actually. I loved the vibes. The service was friendly, and the table we sat at was clean. The food was disappointing. Looking back, we should've ordered something a bit more... pub food-like? A burger, chicken wings, something along those lines. My wife hadn't had lunch, and she ordered a steak and potatoes, and I needed to get some sleep before working late so I ordered on the lighter side, a chicken wrap of some kind from the specials. Both were mistakes, They were cooked properly, but her steak was not a great piece of meat, and my wrap was just chicken, chorizo, and cheese on a tortilla. It needed some veg or a sauce or something. We're going to go back and give this place another shot, because I want SO MUCH for it to be good. The bartender was very quiet; it was hard to hear him. But he was nice enough. There was a lady who was working (maybe the owner?) and she was very bright and bubbly! We got the Mexican street corn dip and it was great. I was excited to see a vegetarian section of the menu. However, the cauliflower wrap was made with cauliflower fried in the same vat as the meat, so just be cautioned if you're a strict vegetarian. The menu was misleading. Wow. I am so impressed with this little joint. I came with some girlfriends for some lunch after we visited the Cleveland art museum. I did a search for wings and decided to test my luck with New Heights Grill because it was one of the first suggestions. I'm so happy that I did!! The food was fresh and tasted soooo good. It's pretty easy to have mediocre bar food, but this place is not that. The wings were delicious and so tender. The sauces tasted homemade, but I'm not sure if they are. It also passes the ranch test!!! The waffle fries were perfectly crisp. Portions were great and drinks were strongggg! We shared potato skins and pickle chips. They came out steaming and perfect. The ladies are still talking about it and we will surely be back!! Special shout out to our server. I didn't catch her name, but she was so nice and attentive to us. She made sure we had everything we needed and never had to ask for a refill. This is a place that would be great for a game, lunch alone, dinner with the family, or really anything in between. Let me start by saying, I love this place. I love to come here watch the Browns and Guardians, the food is wonderful and always fresh, but the service sometimes leaves something to be desired. It has never stopped me from coming but you do have to have a certain level of patience and ability to roll with the punches to fully enjoy this place. This place reminds me of those restaurants/bars that you would go to after your sporting events in grade school for a good meal. We ordered mostly appetizers to share for our meal. Here is what we ordered: Appetizers: - Reuben balls - these were tasty but kind of strange. They definitely taste the best when paired with the sauce they come with. - mozzarella moons - these were decent but kind of bland in my opinion - Cajun calamari - one of the better calamari dishes we have had in Cleveland - Buffalo chicken dip with pita - excellent because they didn't try to get fancy with it! My favorite appetizer! - soft pretzel sticks - these were just ok. They were a little hard in some spots Soups: - chicken and dumpling (soup of the day) - so good! This is the kind of dish that we will be coming in for on a winter day! - potato cheddar soup - this one was just alright. I could see it being a better dip than a soup though - chili - the chili was a miss in my opinion. It had the consistency of salsa and just wasn't great in terms of flavor. Wings: - 12 Sweet BBQ boneless wings - these were delicious! I will definitely be ordering this flavor again! My husband and stepsons love boneless but I'll probably be ordering the bone in for myself next time. We are excited to try other flavors too! - 12 Garlic Parmesan boneless wings - these were really good too in terms of flavor but were a bit dry. I wish they were a bit more saucy. Side dishes: Shoe string fries - Yum!!! These were delicious and definitely something I'll be ordering again. Next time I'll ask if they have vinegar to go with them. Waffle fries - my husband and stepsons really enjoyed the waffle fries. They were not my favorite because they had a seasoning on them that was orange in color that I don't really care for. Heights is not bad. It's kind of a sports bar with all the tvs etc. And they have some decent menu items. You'll find a mixed crowd at the bar most nights. They have some basketball game in the corner that's kind of annoying. Their burgers are good. The ribeye is good. The Cuban sandwich is good. Buffalo chicken sandwich and fish and chips are ok. Service is generally pretty good, but cash out time takes forever. I'm not sure why. They have a decent selection of drafts and bottles and a full bar. Met my girl here and I swear this was a man cave...bar was full of men, only. My girl and I sat down at the last two seats and after the one bartender came over and we weren't ready, he never came back. Luckily Nadia was there! She is fun, honest about the menu items and gets stuff done! What I wanted wasn't exactly on the menu but she said...hold on. Came back and 5min later, Boom! We also had the fried cod which looked like it lept onto the plate and it was perfectly seasoned! Tater tots, cannot go wrong with those! Typical dive bar with less than average food. I had the heights burger with fries. Which consisted of a frozen patty cooked till well done and fresh cut fries cooked in dirty oil. Bathroom was less than appealing and could use some work for sure. The service was attentive and timely. With all the other options in the area try somewhere else. read more

Since we were starving, they three huge meatball-esque balls were good. I ordered the special portobello sandwich, my husband got cordon blue sandwich and kids Mac and cheese for my son. After about 20-25 min, our order finally came out. Mine was ok-- needed an aioli or something. Way too much raw red onion. And the most ridiculous part was only 4 onion rings... and for a $2.99 up charge--- just don't do it. My husband liked him sandwich and my son enjoyed the fries and Mac and cheese. This is a staple location for my extended family, I think Kelly, the owner, went to school with some aunts?? Probably my favorite spot to grab a cheap bite to eat in the Cleveland Heights area. The menu is MASSIVE and everything is reasonably priced. The place can get very busy at times but i have never had an issue finding a table. The staff is full of very kind people and they're always on their A-game. What a great find! We were in the area, decided to try someplace new. This place has a great hometown sports bar vibe. Great beer selection, I had a Masthead IPA which was a good choice. This is our 2nd time here so this is more of an updated review. Upon our arrival at about 12:30 today (Saturday), we noticed a lot less chairs available to sit at since last visit last summer. We opted for 2 bar stools that we brought together. The bar stools were extremely far apart so kudos to the staff for adhering to social distancing. Each of us had a draft beer whilest deciding on our lunches. So much to choose from. Apps, soups, burgers, sammys, dinners, specials.....not pages of food because that becomes overwhelming. It's the perfect amount of choices. My husband choose a cup of the daily soup (navy bean and ham) which came out IMMEDIATELY after asking for it. Piping hot and so good - I wished I had ordered a bowl of it for me. Instead, I got a spoonful to try. Our actual order was a chicken, apple wrap and a fish sandwich - each with chips. So good and even more reasonably priced than anticipated after getting the bill. This tavern is a smidge out of our way but we really just need to put this in our lunch rotation. My boyfriend and I love a good tavern, but many don't have good quality food. This place is awesome for great quality tavern food. The loaded fries were the best I've had, and the pita for the Buffalo dip was the perfect crispiness and temperature. I was legitimately shocked at how good the food was. I just can't say enough good things about New Heights Grill. I have seen some negative reviews citing slow service, and honestly, sometimes their service isn't the fastest. However, what they lack in speed, they make up for in personality. The staff at New Heights are some of the friendliest people I've had the pleasure of meeting, and once you've been there a couple times, they'll remember you. I go for Thursday night trivia, and it's generally pretty packed. I'm usually at a table with 4-6 people, and without us even having to say a word, Terrence knows exactly what each of us are going to order to drink and brings them over. The prices are a bit better than a few of the other local places I've visited, and I have never been disappointed by anything I've ordered. I highly recommend the onion rings - they're some of the best I've ever had! If you're looking for stellar quick service, this may not be the place for you. The staff are usually running all over when it's packed, which leads to a bit of a wait. However, if you're looking for a fun, laid back place to feel welcomed and have a relaxed meal or drink, I'd highly recommend checking them out! read more

I called New Heights Grill around 12:30pm today and asked if they'd take a reservation for 10 people at 6:30pm tonight. They explained that it might be tough, given the happy hour crowd may stay through dinner, but that they would really try. So I made the reservation, knowing it might not come through. Well, 5 hours later they called me to tell me that all was set up and ready for us! They had it ready a whole hour early! These people and this restaurant rock! Great food, great service and they really went out of their way for us. We greatly appreciate it!
