Never been here before and stopped to get an order of crab rangoons. Let me tell you they were bomb af and big af. Deff worth it. What can I say? I have dined on Chinese food in countries all over Europe and the US, and San Francisco remains the only place where my hunger for delectable, authentic Chinese food can be sated. However today we settled for Chinese food in Hobart. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken and my wife ordered the Tangerine Chicken. When our order came to the table, it was in a to go box. I had asked for a side of chili sauce but it was not present. I got our waiter's attention and he said he would bring some right away. We'll, right away means 5 minutes. Our egg rolls were good and the fried rice was good. My Sweet & Sour Chicken was mushy and I only had two pieces of pineapple in the mix. My wife's Tangerine Chicken was tender but she could not taste the tangerine flavor and there were only two small florets of broccoli in the mix. The hot and sour soup was nice but a bit too sour, although the abundant presence of tofu, egg white, mushrooms and other veggies was wonderful. The price was reasonable and the portions were generous. Our fortune cookie was accompanied by a rice cookie that knocked it out of the park. read more

I just had the most delicious lunch. I got the Hunan Chicken Lunch Special $8.99. It came with a bowl of the best Hot and Sour Soup I ever had. Also a delicious pork egg roll, homemade!! Beyond mid. Noodles, general tso's, and beef w broccoli was really good. The broccoli fell apart in your mouth which is usually so nice, but this was extremely like mush in your mouth. Flavor for broccoli was good though. Orange chicken didn't taste like orange chicken but still tasted okay. Sweet and sour chicken was ok, meat was big but dry. The sauce for it did not taste good at all, it was like a light pink/orange color and had tomatoes, peppers and lemon in it. Kind of random but maybe it's normal? Idk i've never had sweet and sour sauce like that. Wasn't horrible but wasn't great that's for sure lol. Crab rangoons were good. Very decent sized but there was a lot of big chunks of artificial crab meat. I'm used to more cream cheese but that's just my preference. Fried rice was not good. Overall it wasn't terrible. If you're struggling to find a place this was good enough. Although i'd save 50$ and go to panda instead. Very Very mid. This wouldn't be my first choice and we'll def be on the search for a better one. Update: Me and my bf reheated the food and got super sick. Tasted even worse the next day. First off the owners are polite, friendly & helpful.. Walnut shrimp is made with plump pieces... Noodle dishes are good as well. This economy that asshole pushed us into make's everything harder to come by even a Chinese lunch isn't a bargain anymore. Personally I can't see buying the beef fried rice for example considering it's 95% rice. But that's not to say I won't give this sweet hard working man my business.. They have been serving good food for years & I hope he's there until He decides to hang up his apron. read more

Walked in and it was warm! So many restaurants are freezing this time of year- instantly made my soul happy. The dining area is clean and well kept. Our initial server wasn't sure about the items on the menu being vegan but he got another person who was super helpful to explain what is and could be made vegan. I initially got my rice with egg in it- they were apologetic and corrected it. The service was so friendly. The tofu was softer than I'm used to- but very good. The crab Rangoon was excellent! And the only good I can recommend for this restaurant. The servers were friendly and food was served quickly and hot. The rest of the meal was either served to the wrong table or not good quality. The pot stickers tasted like canned tuna. The Pork with broccoli came out as beef and broccoli with meat that was off texture and off taste. The General Tso chi hen was edible but under spiced and bland. The portion size was huge and there were plenty of left overs for a doggy bag, but we purposely left it all. read more

FOOD POISONING ALERT! While I agree with the others that the food is tasty, it made myself and my family violently sick, resulting in everyone having to call in sick the next day. I called to discuss the issue with the manager who then insulted me by saying "you can't prove it came from us" when it is damn well obvious. They clearly don't care about making their customers sick, and they don't have any integrity. I suggest going to Panda in downtown Hobart instead. read more
