I normally love the sweet and sour chicken and it was great but I actually preferred the Mongolian beef - lots of onions but we are obsessed with them. We tried this place yesterday for the first time and it actually was very good. My fiancé ordered the orange chicken dinner plate which was $10.75. It came with chicken fried rice and an egg roll. The orange chicken definitely had a very sweet but spicy orange flavor, you could really taste the orange. He loved it. I really enjoyed the sesame chicken. I think my only complaint was I did not like the egg roll because I don't like shrimp. Service was good and the restaurant was clean. The woman who took my order to go was polite. I did ask a couple of questions on some of the items of the menu and she promptly answered them. Typical Chinese food nothing too incredible. The eggroll was OK. The fried rice was again OK and the chicken egg for Young was also OK. Considering the reviews, we had higher expectations of the food, but to each their own, they didn't do anything wrong just we weren't overly impressed. Unfortunately we won't be back. It is close to home, but I have had better since then and I don't really eat out much so when I do, I'm pretty selective. I don't know how this place got 4.5 stars. It was the worst Chinese food I've had in NWI. The appetizers were either burned or fried in oil that was rancid. They were tough and chewy. The Chicken Almond Ding had zucchini in it. Also carrots and 2 or 3 mushrooms. No water chestnuts or other vegies. It was also flavorless. Zucchini? Really? I had them for lunch because a friend said they have the best egg rolls. I would have to agree! I only had one egg roll with my lunch special but it was so good! However, the sesame chicken I had was so old. I would not be getting that again. I don't think it's ever ok to serve old food to customers. Due to that, I probably will not be back. Very delicious won ton soup, definitely great for this area. So fresh. But I bought a pack of almond cookies that were way too hard, basically stale and when I took them back they told me that all of the packs were the same and didn't offer to refund or attempt to open a newer box. Ordered sweet & sour pork for myself and chicken for my wife. What we got was nothing like the picture on the menu. Picture showed green pepper, pineapple and tomato. What we each got was a single piece of pepper around 1 square , 3 pieces of pineapple "chunks" (again around 3/4") and no tomato at all. What we did get was enough fried rice to feed us both for a week. Our egg rolls contained only cabbagr and nothing else. My previous visit there gave me an order of "Tomato, Pepper & Beef" that more resembled a bowl of thin beef soup. All this plus cans of pop for $30. I ordered two Egg Rolls, a large Sweet & Sour Chicken, a small Orange Chicken, and a large Chicken Fried Rice. It took about 30 minutes, which wasn't too bad. It's a local spot for me, so that's also a big plus. The Egg Rolls were awesome! It had a nice breading with many ingredients inside to blend them together. The Sweet & Sour Chicken was cooked just right and wasn't too crispy. The sauce accompanied it even better. The orange chicken was pretty good. Some of them stuck together, but it was mostly because of how thick the sauce is to it. The Chicken Fried Rice is near perfect. I love how you can taste the onions throughout. The portions were very generous and definitely worth the money. Everything was packed neatly and served professionally! Overall, I'd say they have some of the best Chinese food around. Regular customers and by far best Chinese food in area. We decided to dine in rather than carry out and just disgusted by my observations. The main staff had the same blue gloves donned to take customer payments, pick up the rugs on the floor, sweep under the tables, serve the food to the customers dining in and attempt to package up our left overs. Rock solid cuisine. Nice small place with quick service and really good vegetable fried rice.

The food is excellent, and you can dine in which is hard to find since the pandemic. My only suggestion is that they use dishes instead of polystyrene and plastic silverware. Hard to find good Chinese in the area. Cedar Lake has nothing edible. Crownpoint is a bunch of crap Chinese food. This place actually had good food. Nice and crunchy egg-rolls and egg foo yong was cooked properly. Fried rice was delicious. Beef and pea pods was great. The beef was not fat. It was just a pretty good dish. Abundant and tasty BUT they don't answer the phone and be wary of the time they give you for an online order. Upon arrival, I have the sneaking suspicion the order had not even been looked at. Had to wait 30 additional minutes in the car. The egg rolls were ok but would like more veggies in them. Kung Pao chicken was good but not at all spicy. Portions were very good, rice was perfect.
