I had to make a run to Hobart, Indiana and was hungry even before I left the house. I've passed this place many times and thought that today would be the perfect day for some Chinese cuisine. Nice large parking lot, clean and spacious in the inside. The beautiful young lady whose name is I didn't get was knowledgeable regarding menu, specials and supper friendly. I ordered the Hot Singapore chow mai and I got a small Shrimp fried rice for my Mommie. I made a little video and took lots of pictures this time. I have driven past this place for years. I should have kept right on driving. The place is dirty. Especially the men's room. Reminded me of a gas station bathroom. We were driving through and I decided to trust yelp as I normally do to get some Chinese food. I was severely disappointed. If this is what you guys think 4 out of 5 star Chinese food is you haven't tasted Chinese food! I got beef lo mein, the beef was chunky, pale, and tasteless, and the noodles didn't have much taste either. I tried at least 5 bites to give it a good try and it just wasn't worth it. My husband and I wanted Chinese food last night, so he was out and was close to this place so he got beef fried rice, shrimp fried rice 2 egg rolls and small egg foo young, it was ok, but the next day I heated up some shrimp fried rice and there was a mouse dropping on the spoon of rice I was getting ready to put in my mouth, I called and Sandy said that she can give me another rice, like I want something else out of there. The food was soggy. The egg roll was legit fried but steamed back up later because it tasted fried---but no crunch. The orange chicken was legit all soggy breading. Awful. The "fried rice" was rice with soy sauce on it. Don't waste your money, not worth eating. read more

I grew up by Chinatown in Chicago. This is by far the best Chinese food in this area. The owners are very nice people. The female owner knows our order. If we change it up she makes a joke. We normally get take out. Dinning in one time I put in my order, and she told me, "No we are all out, you ate all the mushrooms". She was just kidding. Great family place. Someone recently broke the window. I hope they get caught. I like Moo Goo Gai Pan, and she will make it spicy for me. The Chicken Peapod is good as well. Very tender chicken, and crisp pea pods. My wife like the Kung Po chicken, and pan fried noodles. I often end up eating her left overs. The portions are very good. 1 large order of anything with rice or noodles is plenty for 2 people. I normally get a small fried rice for work the next day. It is a meal itself. There are 2 other Chinese restaurants in Hobart, and I'm not saying they are bad. I will put it this way. This places doesn't deliver, but I would go out in the snow to pick it up. It is that good. On the down side. If you aren't getting a spicy dish, you may want to ask for spice. Easily the best egg rolls ever. I'm a big fan of the deep fried chicken with pea pod and water chestnuts as well. I've been coming here for decades and can't imagine the Region without it.
