Beijing has your typical menu of American style Chinese cuisine. We usually order for delivery. They are in Portage, we are in Burns Harbor and they deliver to us which is super convenient. They also have their own delivery drivers and online ordering which I like. The food always arrives hot and fresh, I don't think we've ever had anything missing from our order and it is usually pretty quick considering it's probably a 15-20 minute drive to my house. When we do pick up orders it is always quick and easy to pick up. Our favorites are beef and broccoli, the chicken skewers, shrimp udon noodles, sesame chicken, chicken and broccoli.... I love this restaurant because they also keep my order and every time I call it's something I can ask them to repeat and they can just re-order so I don't have to continually repeat. That said, dining in is not formal by any means it would be more casual dining. I recommend this for eating at home and having great delivery service. Got General Tso's---I ordered on the phone, and picked up in 10 minutes. It was SO soggy--breading was mush and flavor way different each time. I was a regular here before I moved to Denver over a year ago. I came back in town for a funeral so I had to stop at Beijing. I moved to Portage like a year and a half ago, and after a horrific food poisoning incident from a Chinese restaurant in Merrillville several years ago, I was a little shy about trying Chinese food again. But I am SO GLAD I TRIED THIS PLACE!! The food was fantastic, fresh and flavorful. The dumplings with the dipping sauce are out of this world, and so is their general tso's chicken! I am visiting from the Metro Detroit area, and randomly decided to have food here. I already had Panda Express last week, and it was just okay. However, the food was quite a pleasant surprise. I got a combination platter consisting of chicken with garlic sauce, side of fried rice, an egg roll, and wonton soup. It was quite good. The egg roll had pork and cabbage, which was quite rare from where I'm from. The chicken with garlic sauce had baby corn, broccoli, and carrots. I didn't even order it with green peppers. Great Chinese take-out/delivery! We just moved back to the area and discovered Beijing. We have gotten both pick up and delivery. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The online ordering is extremely convenient. What I am expressing my love for is the Chicken Rice soup. It is so fresh tasting and light, I could eat this everyday. Yum! Yum! Now on to the other food. We aren't ever disappointed. All solid dishes. We've had the Kung Po Chicken - very tasty...not very spicy though. We have even ordered it a couple times and asked for super spicy and it really hasn't been spicy enough for us. Still a really tasty dish, though. The sweet and sour chicken is the standard take out style and yummy. We've also had the orange peel chicken, teriyaki chicken sewers, shrimp egg rolls and egg drop soup.
