The views are great, and it's just an experience to cross it with so many people who are all stopping to take pictures and selfies and asking strangers to take pictures of them with their families. Crossing at sunset is a special treat! The bridge allows you to see both towns, and it's just a few minutes to cross. It's a must do on a first visit New Hope and Lambertville.

Recently that meant exploring the trolley trails in west Fairmount Park and finding the stone spiral arch bridge. In the early 1900s, a scene trolley took people through the woods. Nature has reclaimed the trolley paths, but in recent years they have been converted into miles of hiking trails. It's not crowded--I only saw 4 other people, mountain bikers, on my visit. It's a great place to explore. It's shaded so the walk was cool. It's pretty level so the hike is easy. And if you know where to go, you can find this beautiful bridge that looks like a brick spiral. The years have taken a toll, so I wonder how much longer we'll get to enjoy it. It's cool to think that in the past so much work was put into creating a beautiful structure that really just needed to serve a simple function. Don't have time for a long hike? You can get to the bridge quickly by entering the trail from Chamounix Mansion. Park by the equestrian building and head in. It's probably less than a 1/2 mile walk to the bridge.

It is an old bridge that leads to nowhere because it is no longer being used. It is surrounded by a forest, and kind of hard to find. The best way to find it is to stay at Chamounix Mansion, and follow the trail behind the trees. It's worth checking out if you like to post on Instagram, and finding hidden gems that are off the beaten path.

It's also a solid place to set up and fish or to get up to some general mischief. This based on the three types of people I saw in my visit here: photographers, fishermen, and shirtless parkour-ing teens. My best advice is to wear closed toed footwear. This place is littered with broken glass and other assorted garbage. I wore flip flops, and while I managed to avoid injury, my feet were stained with a layer of black dirt. It's kind of a sketchy area of town, but it's worth a visit to up your insta game.

Be mindful and whatever you bring, carry it out. I bring my two large dogs back here on walks to the end of the pier for the amazing view that shows the mix of nature taking over old industry against the new industry - the skyline of Philadelphia. Usually, you will see other urban explorers, fishermen, photographers, and artists. But be cautious, last time I was here kids were playing with dynamite and people have been mugged here. This tunnel is a pretty tight drive as you pass through in your vehicle. As I said, this tunnel will stay within your memories as part of South Amboy, New Jersey. I lived in South Amboy, New Jersey and grew up in Central New Jersey, which many claim that central New Jersey does not exist. I disagree. Central New Jersey certainly is a place. It is not the more rural south Jersey nor claim Philadelphia as their city, nor is it directly in the shadow of Manhattan (though here is within the shadow of Staten Island, New York). This "hole-in-the-wall" is part of the landscape of my memories and I am better for having driven through it (definitely a better driver). Again, these little quirks will forever stay within you no matter if your life journey took you far from South Amboy, New Jersey. It is perhaps more poignant will you remember something as seemingly inconsequential as a narrow bridge as a part of a community that you fondly cherish. I remember this "hole-in-the-wall" and smile at its memory.

Seasonal, of course, from Thanksgiving to New Year's, this is an unforgettable display. Be careful approaching because I've seen traffic get crazy at this spot. Either slowing to an almost-stop, or speeding past. I recommend wearing high-visibility clothing and parking on adjacent Mark Lane, then walking the sidewalk to the lights. (There are some cool lights on Mark Lane too.) Make sure to check out the other major light show at the Anderson family home (corner of Fairview and Hampton Rds) just 2 minutes away, as well as the Grinch house (a few doors down on Hampton). Seriously this area is rife with extreme light displays, you will see a lot of great stuff. Kids will love it! Most lights go off by 10pm, and the Grinch house turns off at 9pm, so ideally, show up before 9!!!

These burgers are thick, juicy, and clearly made with fresh beef. Both were cooked to perfection. The fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The crispy calamari, with a nice mix of rings and tentacles, was very good. It cooled off pretty quickly during delivery, so I imagine it's even better when enjoyed in the restaurant. The strip steak with mashed potatoes and green beans was cooked perfectly, and the chicken Parmesan was a huge portion with two generous pieces of chicken. One thing we loved was the variety of side options--we chose mashed potatoes and cheese tortellini, and both were excellent. A shout-out to Chowhound Delivery, too. The food arrived surprisingly fast, which definitely helped everything stay hot and fresh. We'll definitely be ordering from Bell's Tavern again. Highly recommend!
