I have steadily watched him grow into a little boy who has a passion for learning. He attended Rise Up Academy through kindergarten and now attends their before and after school program. We just had his conference for 1st grade and let me tell you, this boy blew it out of the park academic wise with his testing scores. (One score for reading and comprehension was out of 39, meaning he met kindergarten standard, and he scored 72!)He nearly doubled the standard score. I would love to take the credit for this, but I know all the thanks and recognition goes to Rise Up Academy and their teaching staff for moLeung my son , shaping the way her learns and thinks about education, and truly giving him the motivation and love for learning. So thank you, Rise Up Academy, and all the staff for doing what you do and know best, and loving our children, and often feeling in those gaps at times, and helping our children reach their fullest potential!

A staff member strapped my child to a chair by force, with no proper training or certification, and is still employed. Leadership has taken no real accountability, even with written documentation. I would not trust this place with any child's safety or emotional well-being. What does it say about management when they choose to keep someone like this around? It makes me wonder what else they allow behind closed doors.

Most reputed child care facilities do not accept kids after 3 years if they are not potty trained but the truth is not all kids get there by the mark of 3 and this school understands that and we are very grateful to Ms. Mannu who was able to work with us on this. My son is now 5 years old and he has moved through 4 different classes and teachers and has had the most wonderful time in every class. Every teacher has been so kind and so hands on, ensuring they work individually with every kid to make them comfortable and learn. All the teachers are so very welcoming and warm, happily share feedback. My son loves this school. School is very well managed and maintained. No concerns with amenities or cleanliness. Staff is organized and available to assist always. Curriculum is very good, kids learn STEM concepts through practical experiments. The school does an excellent job of developing empathy and emotional intelligence through daily affirmations and lessons. I am deeply grateful to all his teachers - Ms. Megan, Ms. Madeline, Ms. Christine, Mr. Aaron, Ms. Alyse, Ms. Idah, Ms. Sreeja, Ms. Rohini, Ms. Jasmyne for all their hard work and the teachings they have managed to impart to these young minds. I would specially call out Ms. Christine & Ms. Alyse for everything they do - my son bonded very deeply with them. Best part about the school in our opinion is that the school is constantly running activities and you can expect 2-3 events every month. Appreciation months, pet days, science experiments (lifecycle of butterflies, hatching chicks, etc.), book fairs, talent shows, mothers/fathers/other historic days you name it - the list is endless. Point is they are actively engaging parents and kids every single month through so many variety of activities. As a parent, I can see how much my son enjoys these events and is developing core memories learning through tangible experiences. And as a parent who really loves staying involved with their child, I heavily enjoy these events as well. I would happily recommend every parent to this school and have nothing to share other than positive things.

The P5 teacher Jennifer is exactly the same but hides behind the director. Encouraged my family to seek an IEP solely as a means to kick my kindergarten age daughters out. Tried to circumvent the IEP process by trying to reach out to the care team to gain a recommendation that supported their goal of kicking my kid out. When that failed the principal lied about what the care team recommended. Bullied, harassed, and finally attempted to blackmail my family into voluntarily pulling my kid out in the last few months of the school year. This behavior started escalating the day of our IEP assessment and ended in a forced reduction of service before any accommodation request was made. This was after a glowing assessment of my daughter's growth. When I made a complaint about discrimination against the Preschool Director they declined to investigate without so much as a call to discuss my concerns.

They also learn to clean up after themselves, how to be a good friend to their peers, and beginning stages of conflict resolution. They have outdoor time everyday and have opportunities to explore. We have watched our son grow, develop, and mature during his first year of preschool and have confidence that when it is time to move on to Kindergarten that he will be ready. I…read morewas a hyperactive kid who struggled with focus regardless of my environment, yet I felt I was treated unfairly at the time. Deep down I knew this was probably a result of my actions and/or weaknesses, and overall I knew I loved and respected the staff and environment of the place, however as the years went on I was tempted to be bitter (especially after feeling so well received in future public schools). Fast forwarding a decade had brought me more experiences and perspective, allowing me to more thoroughly appreciate what Northshore was doing in my life at the time. They held a high standard in a way that balanced love and firmness. I think we were both growing and learning at that time, and I cannot deny that I was shown love, guidance, an example of excellence, etc. Super important things to a growing kid. Fast forward another decade, I was able to return to Northshore and visit with my old principal and some of the teachers I had back then. An awesome experience to see them as fellow adults, see their personal/professional growth and the success of their academics, school campus, etc. Even got to have a chat with one of my childhood heroes Marc Marion. Marc: well done, good and faithful servant! Coming full circle, I now have a kindergartener at Northshore. We weighed many options during our research, and we felt the overall benefits far outweighed the sacrifices. Almost a year into school, I can confidently say we made the right decision. Every school and every person has issues, quirks, etc., yet the level of excellence in all areas has surpassed our expectations. I could list all the positives I've seen, but I think Northshore does a well enough job of marketing themselves, so I'll leave it at this: I couldn't ask for a better place to entrust a significant portion of my son's daily mental/physical/spiritual growth. I sent my daughter to The Children's School and Montessori two years ago. My daughter was there for…read more10 months. I have to say I did't see her growth. My daughter was shy and passive. During the 10 months, I didn't see she had any improvement. My daughter told me she didn't talk with teachers and other kids often. She just played by herself, and the teachers never came to guide her. My daughter said most of the time, teachers were just standing there and watching them play except the circle time. My daughter went to another Montessori school which was way better. Now, she is outgoing. My feeling was that I wasted 10 months to send my daughter to The Children's School and Montessori.

Bobbi and Mary are compassionate, caring, patient, and driven. They know when to challenge kids, and know when to nurture them.
