I had high hopes for this salon since it came recommended. I had no issues with their Covid practices - they did well with those! I had asked to keep my length and do a burgundy ombré. If they couldn't have done that, I would have been fine with that. I know my hair was yellow from a previous dye job with roots grown in - so I expected it might be a challenge but they ruined my hair. They bleached the top, used hot pink on the bleached parts and dyed the rest brown. My sweatshirt had large bleach spots all over it when I left. I had to go to a different salon at the last minute who had to cut off a lot of inches, dyed it down to all one color and told me that Salon on Main had fried parts of my hair off. When I left the Salon on Main, I cried! I'm giving them two stars because the owner DID offer to fix my hair but I was too scared to go back. read more

Searched for a salon on cape that could serve kids and found a review for New Image that indicated they had high reviews for kids cuts. I called for an appointment for my 2 1/2 year old grandson who was visiting the cape and had never had a professional cut. The salon said that Kara was the best. Lucky to have snagged a cancellation appointment with her and she sure didn't disappoint. It was such a positive and fun experience and our boy, Jay, just loved every minute of Kara's amazing attention and warm, wonderful manner. Plus, the hair style turned him from a toddler to a handsomely groomed "little / big boy." I was referred by my sister in law, and I have been coming to new image for two years now for my haircuts and color. James does a fabulous job every time I'm in. He is so attentive to what I want and what I don't want. He really knows his stuff. Whether it's the way he's cutting my hair or mixing different colors together he is so detailed right to the very end. He is very straight forward and will give his opinion if you ask for it! Lol. OMG Being a Summer Resident - I sometime forget about the great accomodations they have down hair (here)!!! I have had my hair done by the same person for 6 years off cape and always got concerned when my "roots" were showing during the summer months. Kara has been there for the last three years to fill in for "my guy" After leaving today - I am gonna put a spin on things and gonna have Kara be "my guy". Not only was my hair the best it has looked in a long time but I dont have to tell you it was a lot less expensive. I am so pleased with the highlights and cut I received today from James! The salon is clean and everyone there was friendly and welcoming. My previous stylist closed her salon and I've had a hard time finding a place to go. On a friends recommendation I gave New Image a try and I am so happy I did! Highlights, low lights, a base break and requesting a much shorter cut I felt totally confident that James was going to give me what I was asking for. Asking a stylist to cut off 5 inches of your hairs upon first meeting may have made others nervous but I felt comfortable from the beginning of the appointment. I needed a cut and color while on the Cape. My hairstylist at home uses Goldwell color, so I looked for places in the area and after reading the reviews decided to try New Image. Alicia put me at ease, copied my color perfectly, and added a slight twist to my regular cut. She was professional, personable and did a wonderful job! The owner Suzanne was very prompt at responding via email and my stylist Alicia did an excellent blowout for only $30 which stayed the whole night, even in the rain. I'm very particular about my hair. I've gone to the same salon on Newbury Street for 10+ years but i needed a trim desperately while on the Cape. I stopped in as a "walk-in" and they took me with-in ten minutes. My stylist (Katie) was fantastic. She welcomed me very warmly and was very informative. She asked a lot of questions to assure that I would be happy. I wanted to do just a trim but I ended up having her do a full cut. She did a great job and was very nice. Unlike a lot of people who just cut your hair, she talked to me and made my experience there a great one. The only thing I wish was different about this place is the decor. If they did a little remodeling and some paint and new furniture it would be a first class place. But overall, great experience and I would absolutely recommend it. read more

I have been going to New Image Salon since it opened...3 of our children's weddings, many 'formals' and not-so-formal parties and every- 6-week appointments for over 20 years have all been a source of smiles and happiness for me and my family! A smile comes onto my face when I think of the wonderful people whom I have met...the quality of service has remained superior although many of the girls have married, moved and had families the replacements have been at the same level of competance.. always great. The products, the atmosphere and the attention is A++. We are SO LUCKY to have Suzanne in the Village. I hope that Kara returns soon...in the meantime, Justine has done a terrific job. Recently moved here so I had no idea who to go to! I used Yelp to help me locate salons in my area, New Image got good reviews, so thought I'd start there. Saw in review that Kara was mentioned. She's a young girl, very pleasant and knows her stuff! I figured I'd start off with my custom color which I had the formula for, and if that came out OK, then I'd go back at a different time for my cut. Well, I could see at first glance that she knew exactly what she was doing, color came out great and went ahead (because she had the time) to take another chance and get my cut. I have very thick hair, a stubborn cowlick and like my hair layered a certain way. NO PROBLEM!! She listened to my instructions and cut, great!!! So now my salon problem is solved, Kara is now my new colorist/stylist. And they also do mani/pedi's there so I can get all in one salon. AND it cost we well UNDER what I used to spend at my other salon. Easy pesey!! read more

Worst hair salon I have encountered!!! A friend and I went here for the first time to have our hair blown out for a wedding we were in town for. Prior to making an appointment I was given a price of $25 for a wash and blow dry. I had my hair done first, it was washed, dried and the stylist put a bobby pin in two spots, it looked as if I had let it air dry after a shower, so you can imagine my surprise when I was charged $65.00. There was nothing professional looking about my hair whatsoever, a 2 year old could have styled it better!!!! What a waste of money! my friends hair was also washed and dried, and lets just say that was about it.. the best compliment I can give is that it was not wet!!! She was charged $50.00. I suppose those 2 bobby pins were quite costly to the business!!! when I gasped in shock at the price when leaving and complained to the receptionist about the poor job her response " I don't know I didn't answer the phone"! Not helpful one bit! I would honestly rather throw my money in the trash then go back to this shabby, non professional salon!! STAY AWAY!!! read more

Hands down thew worst cut and experience EVER! The owner offered to cut my hair after I called and was told that their best stylist , Peter ( who was wonderful) was no longer worked there. When I arrived my arm was in a sling from an injury, I told the owner that my cut was a long Bob and asked her to trim my hair. When she made the first cut to the top layer I knew that I was in trouble. She made the layer about an inch long. It was sooooooooooooo bad that I asked her to stop cutting my hair. She then asked if I needed my hair dried? Hello, my arm is in a sling!!!!!!! I paid her to avoid a hassle and left. When I got back to NY I went to three different stylists. The cut was soooooooooo bad that everyone said that they could not even begin to fix my hair until I let it grow in for 6 weeks. Yesterday my regular stylist in NY finally started the process of fixing my hair. She had to cut four inches off of the length to bring the layers up so that my hair can start to grow out. It will take months before my hair will go back to the beautiful style I had before she mangled it .Take my advice, RUN LIKE HELL and don't let this woman touch your hair! read more
