I loved going here for 3 years, until i had an absolute horrific manicure and confronted the management about it as I had never had such a horrible experience there. I paid over 120 dollars for a gel manicure and pedicure. The manicure started chipping within 2 days. Hairline cracks appeared on 2 nails below the white part of the nail. I thought i had possibly gotten an old bottle of polish or that it was applied too thick. When I called to schedule an appt to take it off and get a manicure with no polish I told them I expect at least part of this to be compensated as I have been going there 3 years and this manicure was not the quality I usually receive, so much so that i have to take time out of my day for an extra appt. This means i have to leave work, drive there and sit there for them to fix my nails that should have been done correctly in the first place. So the manager, Wah, reaches out via voicemail and says he would like to talk but wont be in this afternoon. I then get an email the next morning saying I didnt call him back and he wants to talk to me. I quickly responded to the email, pointing out he told me he wouldnt be in and provided times i was free that day and he called. This was the worst customer service call i have had in all 40 plus years of my life. Wah was extremely agressive and had to make a point to tell me that polish doesnt chip that way. I told him i have never had this happen to me before and this is why i was wanting it taken off - I was not asking for a free gel manicure, i simply wanted it taken off and then to clean up the nails that had ripped. He kept on about how the nails and polish cant chip the way I was saying, essentially calling me a liar. So I told him that I didnt think the conversation was going anywhere and it was clear he was not going to help (since all he was saying is that I was lying essentially). He finally said he would refund the card but I am no longer allowed to go there. For what? Calling out one bad manicure in 3 years of service? How ridiculous is that. I told him to keep his $35 dollars, I will never be returning. Unfortunately, who he really hurt with his overly aggressive male attitude was the best manicurist i had in a long time and routinely paid over $20 tip to (not the one who did my nails that particular day as my regular girl was not available). Loosing clients is never justified by having to prove you are right, Wah, especially over $35. Great job hurting your business and the people who work for you. STAY AWAY, AS SOON AS YOU HAVE AN ISSUE THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOU AS A CLIENT. read more

After 40 years of manicures, I developed an infection on my finger after service at this business! I went to the salon and asked the receptionist to take photos to send to the manager. My finger tip around the nailbed was swollen to twice the size, red, warm and throbbing. The manager promptly called and stated it happens to clients once or twice a year due to hangnails. REALLY? Why does it happens to ANY client?? He did not admit to the technician possibly drilling or cutting cuticles too close to the nail bed or with possibly unclean utensils. Utensils are not in a sealed package and opened in front of the client. I was informed they are sanitized twice. My question- after how many clients? I had to have my physician lance the finger and was prescribed 2 antibiotics. Beware of your health!! Just tried this place for the first time for a pedi and will definitely be back. It's clean, and the massage chairs are nice. I have been to New Image several times and I absolutely love it. The techs are amazing, friendly, and personable, and the facility is super clean. This review is a reflection on the management - not the nail techs at all. Seriously - AT. ALL. This evening when I was getting a pedicure, the customer next to me bumped into the arm rest and knocked over my glass of red wine into my seat. It's okay - it happens, and the nail techs rushed to clean me up and were honestly LOVELY. When I got up to leave, I realized I had stains on the back of my dress. The stains aren't crazy, but definitely noticeable and also, the spill was certainly not my fault. The male manager proceeded to examine the stains, which are on the back of my dress - um, embarrassing - and then say that he "honestly can't see a difference" and "it should come right out in the wash." This whole experience was mortifying and unsettling. I work in customer service, and any sort of gesture would have been appreciated, especially since I am a long time customer. I felt blamed, even though I had nothing to do with the spill, embarrassed at the amount of people examining the stains on my dress, and yeah - I was charged full price. There is a new nail place opening up on 40th, and I plan to take my business there. And to the tech who was yelled at in front of me for not moving the wine - it was completely not your fault. It was 100% the other customer's fault and you shouldn't have been spoken to that way in front of customers, or in general. But even if it was your fault (and it wasn't), it's okay!!! Didn't ask me if I even liked my pedicure either. The nail technician my sister went with was completely opposite. She was sweet and not impatient. The work and place itself is neat but for others, I wouldn't go with Kim. I've been here a number of times, and each time was wonderful. Once I got the holographic powder done, and it rubbed off immediately. It was a bummer but they made up for it by giving me a free manicure. This past time I had a regular manicure by Malinda, and it lasted without chipping for over a week. This review is extremely hard to type as I have been a customer of New Image since I was in High School (which was back in 2006). I have always had the best experiences and services at New Image, until recently. I am a regular customer who gets biweekly dip manicures and monthly pedicures. I have been doing this consistently for at least a year. I had recently had a dip manicure on a Saturday and on Sunday it chipped significantly. I was very surprised as that has never really happened. I called Monday and asked if I could come by to get it fixed. Wa made me an appointment, I came and they fixed it. I was surprised when the girl (not my usual girl) charged me 6$. Confused, she asked Wa (the owner) and he said to me, "Well Natalie, what did you do!?". I replied in the same playful manner, "I didn't do anything! I just had them done Saturday!" He then said, "Don't worry about it Natalie, have a good day." His tone had changed and he seemed very annoyed. I was completely caught off guard. I had never had that experience before and was taken back that I was even experiencing it at all. Like I said, I get biweekly dip manicures and monthly pedicures. It's not the 6$, it's the principle over the whole thing. I had shared my frustration with friends and even a friend who works at the salon. Well, the very next day, the nail chipped again! I was so frustrated with my experience the day before with Wa, that I didn't even go back because I didn't want to deal with it again. I called up a friend and had her fix my nails. The owner's partner had made my next 3 appointments. I had to cancel the next one because of how the timing fell and the following I cancelled because I was gifted a gift card to another salon for my birthday. I kept my appointment for 4/15 for a dip manicure, as it lined back up with my biweekly schedule. I received a notification the week of 4/6 that my appointment had been canceled. I called as I was confused, I was told that "the system automatically stops you from being able schedule once you cancel x amount of times". I had only cancelled two appointments; however, there was a scheduling error that happened in the past that made it look like I canceled more. Still confused, I asked for Wa to please call me. I am a loyal and valued customer that comes every two weeks and has always spoken so highly of New Image. Wa never called. I didn't cancel my appointment 4/15. I was planning on going, why was I canceled ? Another scheduling error that reflects poorly on the customer. I was told I could no longer schedule and that I could only "walk-in". Still baffled by the whole situation, I reached out to a friend who works at the salon. I wanted clarification. Why was this happening? Why was I being treated this way? I have never been disrespectful for done anything to deserve this. 24 hours later I received a call from Wa. Which was today 4/12. I was at work and unable to answer. I immediately called back as I stepped away and he was suddenly "unavailable". I listened to a voicemail that came through that he left when he called- this is what it said. "Afternoon, Natalie. This is Wa with new image. Uh I'm calling because I assume you need to talk to me about the conversation you had with uh Leslie that you no longer allowed to make future appointment and only do walk in. In fact, I'm calling to inform you that we no longer good fit salon for you and there may reason about it. But if you want to hear the reason you can give me a call back and I will call you back when I can. Again with new image calling to let you know that we are no longer a good fit salon for you and you need to know the reason you can call me back..." A business owner, calling a loyal customer, who has NEVER had any issues, telling me "this salon is no longer a fit" for me. How does that make sense? And again, I called to get these "many reasons" and was told he was "unavailable". I am appalled and hurt. There is no excuse for this treatment. However it's been brought to my attention this is how Wa treats his staff. Sad. I will never be back. read more

Haven't got my nails done in over a year and decided to use this gift card today and honestly I wish I didn't. I was expecting a better experience since the price for acrylic with "round" shape was $37. For one, half my nails aren't even round they're lopsided to be honest. For two, my nails overall look super messy and I wish I would have just gotten gel on my real nails... it's whatever. I give 3 starts because the receptionist were nice an the salon is clean! I've been to New Image Spa many times and this is my go-to place to get a mani or pedi. The place is big and they have a lot of nail techs and stations -- so they are able to take care of customers pretty fast. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and taken care of promptly. The salon is clean and they offer wine/beverages to their customers. Prices are comparable to other nail salons in the area and the staff seem to go out of their way to make their customers happy -- there's always a lot of regulars while I'm there so they must be doing something right!
