When I initially contacted Tesla to do the work, I was given a 39-week lead time. Given the hole in my roof from a fallen tree limb, I could not wait that long. Our roofer was Kanga Roof, who then sub-contracted the work with American Dream Solar. The panel removal was completed very quickly, during which they identified a potential problem with the initial install by Tesla personnel. They exhibited great care in how the panels were removed and stored while off the roof. Once the new roof was back on, they were out in less than a week for the re-install. They did confirm that half my panels had not been connected since they were installed, which I suspect has cost me several thousand dollars in lost electricity savings. Once they were finished, and all my panel were connected, my electric generating capacity doubled. Throughout the process everyone from American Dream Solar we dealt with was professional, I would recommend them without reservation.

However, the crew left a poorly patched hole in our roof during the panel installation process. We spent 4 months and thousands of dollars trying to find a leak in the roof and fix a problem we swore had nothing to do with NTS. Finally, after many phone calls, they agreed to remove some panels for the 4th roofing company to check the roof. The hole in the roof was directly under one of the panels. The roof was repaired and we have no more water coming in. We do have bills for roof modification, chimney caps, spray foam insulation, drywall repair, painting and will need some kind of mold remediation in the attic. We called, sent pictures and email. No response, totally ghosted. I can recommend the system, but not the installation. Now I'm worried we won't have any help if we do need something. Very discouraging.

I have had James Kate Roofing out to my house several times, twice for leaks and twice for…read moreinspections. When we had a horizontal rain several years past, I nearly had my sheetrock collapse near my chimney. Called James Kate, and they not only repaired my entire chimney, but also pointed out five leaks...two by the builder, and three more by previous re-roofs by different companies due to incorrectly installed flashing. Earlier this year, I noticed a ceiling discoloration in the front living area. Again, due to incorrectly installed flashing. They not only repaired everything, but also put in thermal barrier under the shingles. Hopefully won't need a roof replacement soon, but will call James Kate if that occurs.
