Very poor experience. I am a new homeowner in the area and unfortunately, I have been using a controlled medication for a very long time for a debilitating disorder. This month I have to leave early on an important trip and I called to request picking up the medication two days early. The woman on the phone offered absolutely no help and spoke to me as if I were a junkie looking for an early fix. I literally said "what am I supposed to do?" Her response was "I don't know, sorry." Go elsewhere with your sensitive requests. Meanwhile, I immediately found a different pharmacy willing to supply me with the additional medication a bit earlier, so I know it's not a question of law. Not true, not only is it alive and well, it lives in the form of New Island Pharmacy and it's owner and head pharmacist, Nathan. Nathan and the crew are excellent, they meet the needs of our community in so many ways. If you are paying out of pocket for your prescription, the team at New Island will go on line looking for coupons of significant value. If you Don't drive or can't drive, no problem they deliver. From Nathan's infectious wit and concern to the teams warm and caring way, one thing is certain; Yes Virginia, the neighborhood pharmacy is alive and well, it resides in Deer Park, and is taking very careful care of its community and patrons. Best Pharmacy Around!!! I had been dealing with CVS for years just because there always has been one close to me. Recently my insurance changed and I can't go to CVS anymore.... my pharmacist from CVS actually recommended New Island Pharmacy. They had all my medication that a lot of the other pharmacies I had called did not have manufacturer wise. I was worried at first because they were a couple of towns over but then I found out they deliver!!! Anytime I have called them about something they are always so Nice and actually talk to me without throwing me off the phone.... you can even talk to the pharmacist without a problem. My Husband and I have used them for couple of months now and they Have Been AMAZING !!! I wish All Pharmacies had the Customer Service Skills and Integrity that this Pharmacy has!!! After many horrible experiences with a "big chain" pharmacy my doctor highly recommended New Island Pharmacy, I'm a skeptic and by then had lost all faith in pharmacists, until I had the pleasure of speaking to Nate, he is everything my doctor said and so much more, very helpful, very knowledgeable , very professional, sincere and genuine just a few attributes you don't find in people these days, he is most certainly a "Patient before profit " pharmacist. Danielle is always so attentive, and never makes me feel like I ask "too many questions " and takes the time to ensure you are well cared for and always respectful, she is truly an asset to Nate's team.
