I went into my fitting with some loose ideas - I adamantly knew I didn't want a mermaid style, and I was interested in lace and dresses that weren't white. Super helpful, right?? Ryan was wonderful and just talked to me and got an idea of my personality and just started grabbing dresses for me to try on. They were - truly - all freaking stunning, COMPLETELY different, and very much me. From the second I had walked in I had my eye on a short pink dress that was on the mannequin, but it ended up being one of the dresses Ryan picked out for me that was the winner. I couldn't stop smiling. The inventory was extensive, and most importantly unique. Stella has a fantastic eye and picks dresses that are not only gorgeous, but will make you stand out. The process was so easy and stress free. We had the entire place to ourselves, no time limit, there was champagne, and the space is just gorgeous. Picking up my dress was easy, they helped me with everything, and I felt they were genuinely interested in my wedding. They wanted to know the hair, the shoes, the makeup, everything. My mom had already gone in with a friend a week prior, and Monroe helped her into DOZENS of dresses that were suited to my mom - and getting her into any dress is hard...the owner is just so good with people! My mom is not a girly woman at all, and she rarely wears dresses or anything like this, but Monroe quickly figured out my mom's preferences and showed her dresses that really flattered her figure. She helped her pose and take pictures of the dresses - so many beautiful dresses. When I was with her, we got 1 on 1 attention and the dresses she picked out were gorgeous. We finally went with a stunning black dress with tasteful shoulder cutouts that I honestly would have never thought to pick out myself. I found a dress that I was into, however it was discontinued and I was only told that when I said that was the only dress I liked. The person helping me didn't really make me feel special nor have a conversation with me. It seemed like I was inconveniencing her. We just didn't hit it off. This first bridal appointment made me nervous for other ones, but it turns out this was the only appointment where I felt this way. I was able to find something in my size but the gown still needed to be taken in and up to fit me properly. I called Ilana at 5pm on the Tuesday before my wedding on Saturday looking for a miracle. Despite her being in the middle of busy wedding season, she graciously offered to help me and told me to come on in. Ilana was so kind and warm in person and her attention to detail was noticeable. She fitted my gown to me perfectly, had me try the dress with and without a bustle and even had me come in for a second fitting before finalizing the cuts - who gets a second fitting when they come the week of their wedding?! Last, I chose to wear my gown with a wrist strap. The wrist strap on the original dress was made of plain ribbon and Ilana asked me if she wanted her to cover it with fabric, given the time I said not to worry about it. When I put my dress on on my big day, the wrist strap was made of the lovely fabric of the rest of my gown - I was overwhelmed by Ilana's generosity and attention to detail to ensure my gown was perfect even though we were working on a very short timeline. Some of the gowns come from Barcelona, Toronto, etc. High quality, and classic. After making an appointment, I was sent a survey to help sort through preferences. The day of I was greeted by Kendra, who was a very thorough consultant. She was able to help me in and out of dresses, and point me into the right direction as to what I was looking for. I appreciated the fact that Kendra was upfront about pricing on the phone, and in person. I didn't feel like there was any pushiness, and she just wanted to help me figure out what would genuinely work best for me. I haven't made decisions yet, but I won't hesitate to return when I have a better idea of what we are doing for our wedding. They save the preferences and the dresses you preferred in their computer system as well. Thank you Silk, for your professionalism!
