My experience with this shop was nothing short of amazing! The atmosphere inside was professional, but friendly. I came in with a friend and left with two more... "D" asked me questions and truly listened to the answers... I did not find a dress the first time I was there, but I was called when new inventory came in. I was not looking for the typical MOB dress and I wanted a particular color. PINK! The ladies found the perfect dress and it was available in my color. I had not read any of the reviews before stopping into Bridals by D, and I'm so glad I didn't because my experience could have not been better! I was greeted warmly. I asked If I could browse for a Mother of the Bride dress. Elaine showed me where to look, however there were so many beautiful dresses displayed, I looked at all of them! I found a few to try. Since I was alone but wanted another opinion, I facetimed my daughter the whole time and Elaine could not have been more accommodating. I narrowed my choices to 3 and made an appt to return with a few other opinions. I selected my dream dress and ordered it. It arrived in about 8 weeks and was absolutely perfect! I am so disappointed by this place. My bridesmaids got there dresses from here and we had a couple bumps but overall not bad. I'm currently in a wedding and we ordered our dresses from here back at the beginning of the year and our dresses are still not in after the owner telling us that they were going to put a rush on our order after the pandemic. Totally understand that we are at the (hopefully) end of a pandemic but it's now 3 weeks before the wedding and we have not gotten a call back. Myself, other bridemaids and the matron of honor have called over 20 times with leaving messages and still no call back and we have no idea what is going on. Terrible service. *Edit* Currently 17 days before the wedding and STILL no call back! I decided to drive there and they were closed(during business hours)! She decided to go on vacation for the week and not call anyone to let us know. And mind you the week she took vacation was the week the dresses were supposed to be in AT THE LATEST. It's currently the week after her vacation and she haven't heard a word. read more

The only reason I did not give Bridals By D 1 star is because my friend (who is also getting married) seemed to enjoy her experience there. Myself and my mother, however, we not so lucky. Upon walking into Bridals by D we found a completely empty store. We walked around for a few minutes looking at dresses (for my mother, Mother of the Bride). No one came out front. We tried to make a good amount of noise so that whoever was working would hear us rustling around but no one ever came out. After about 5 minutes we started to head to the back and FINALLY found someone to help us. To the woman's credit (Betty, I believe) she was very nice once she finally came out. The owner, however, came out of the back with slippers on. (Yes... SLIPPERS. I do not mean cute slipper/boots or moccasins. I mean slippers like my grandmother wears). My mother ended up finding a dress that she loved but they didn't have the color she wanted in store for her to see so she ordered a color swatch. We were told it should only take a week or so to come in and we would be notified when we could come pick it up. Over a week went by and we heard nothing. My mom called to check up on the order. She was told, "I'm sorry. I'm just too busy to look into that right now. You'll have to call back another time." So, she waited a few more days and called again. This time she was told, "I'm sorry. We're trying to close down for the day. Call back tomorrow." At this point more than 2 weeks had gone by and we had no idea what was going on with the samples. Finally, we ended up tracking someone down. Long story short, the samples we great and we ordered the dress. Now, on to more disappointment: We ordered the dress 6 months in advance figuring that should leave plenty of time. How long could a dress really take to come in?? Especially since it was not a bridal gown. Well, the representative told us it would certainly be in by the 4 month mark. Well, again, long story short, it's been 5 months, the wedding is only 6 weeks away now, and we had to go through the same horrible experience with tracking it down as we did with the color swatches. All phone calls lead to short answers, lack of answers and being told to call another time. The last time we called someone assured us that the dress would be "shipping out" within the week. Well- now we're running out of time and we still have no dress in our hands and it will certainly still need alterations. So: moral of the story... go somewhere else. read more

I had such an amazing experience at this shop!! I went in for a private appointment for my wedding gown and the owner was just amazing! So friendly and helpful! We went through so many dresses and she was so patient with me! I did not end up buying a dress from Bridals By D ( she did not pressure me whatsoever either) however my experience there was the best out of all the bridal shops that I have been to in Buffalo!! So...I have lived almost next door to this place my whole life and was excited to finally go in here to look for a hair piece to go with my dress I had purchased a few months back. As I walked in, a small bell rang and I b-lined it for where the head pieces and jewelry were. The lady popped out from the back and said "oh did you have an appointment?" and I responded with no, but I am just here to look for hair pieces." This is when everything went extremely wrong and is what made me push the 1 star button on the review. This will be best as a dialogue: Lady: "OH! So did you buy your dress here?" Me: "No I didn't. I got it some other place in my hometown." Lady: "Well, "D" doesn't usually sell the jewelry or hair pieces to anyone who did not purchase their dress here because we have had a few customers who try to return it because it is not the right color, or it doesn't go with the dress, etc...so..." Me: "okay" and I immediately start heading for the door because I realize this lady is curt and doesn't want my business... The lady who was in the shop did not act at all like she wanted me in the store or that she wanted to help me find a hair piece, therefore I walked out. Thus I went to Bridal Chateau and found a beautiful hair piece for a cheaper price and was surrounded by helpful ladies. Bridals By D is extremely disappointing when customers are trying to come in to give them business. Rude, curt and overall a horrible experience. Do yourself a favor and head to Bridal Chateau instead. read more

I would love to say our entire experience here was terrific. We worked with Betty and D at the initial visit in June of 2022. Bobby, the seamster was also in the shop that day. My daughter tried on several dresses and then picked "the one". At that we were told "that is her dress" meaning it could no longer be ordered and obviously fit her. It was paid for, in full, and we took it home with us. April 24, 2023 we met with Bobby again, at the dress shop, for her first fitting.. My daughter had lost several pounds at this point. the dress needed to be taken in in the front and hemmed. May 8 , we went back and the dress wasnt ready. May 17 we went back and the dress no longer closed in the back, to which we were told "Bobby will fix it." I had every confidence that he would come through. We returned May 22 to see a piece of material with pearls that did not match the dress design or color was added. when I expressed my dislike in what he had done I was told, "thats all I had" When i expressed my dislike to D, I was told i was obsessing and overthinking. I left the bridal shop that day in tears caused by frustration. We purchased 3 gowns for this wedding from Bridals by D, the bride's dress and the 2 mothers. The 650.00 we paid to Bobby, for the bridal dress to no longer have the same look was obscene, and no one cared. We have since reached out and have spoken to both D and Bobby and neither will take responsibility for the dress. They blamed me and said the dress never fit in the first place which is a complete lie. It is a shame that I cannot recommend Bridals By D. My daughter looked stunning at her wedding because we took the dress to a seamtress who corrected his errors and charged me NOTHING to do so. read more

I decided one month before my son's wedding that the dress I purchased from another vendor over a year ago was not "the dress". D couldn't have been more accommodating by finding dresses that would work not only within my limited time frame, but also the right color, fabric and silhouette. She was fun to work with and made what could have been a very stressful experience enjoyable. I can't say enough about the ladies at bridals by D. I've had nothing but great experiences in the three times that I've had friends or family or myself purchased dresses from here. We started with my friends wedding where I was a bridesmaid. We all felt comfortable and welcome, and we found a great dress that looked perfect on all of us! I remembered that when I was looking for my mom's dress for my wedding, and they took great care of her and made her feel beautiful. I recently went with my cousin and she found the dress of her dreams for her wedding. Again, the women were accommodating, lovely, and let us drink champagne in their beautiful room! It truly was a day to remember and I am so Appreciative for all they do. We checked out other bridal shops in the area nothing compares. This is a one stop shop. read more

Let me start off by saying - I don't normally give bad reviews and I am not that hard to please however - I would highly suggest not walking but running away from here....you may have some positives throughout the experience but the stress is not worth it - if you find a dress you love her - order it somewhere else... I don't even know where to begin...I visited the store 2 before making a decision to finally buy my dress from here. When I ordered my dress in July Betty (my consultant) said that she was going to put my wedding date on the order as December 25, (actual date was Feb 25) to ensure we would get it and have plenty of time to do alterations. I called the shop Mid-december to get on the status of the dress. I had already paid half of the $2500 price tag and the deposit is non-refundable. When I called - I was told that their computers were down and they needed to call me back.....HUGE red flag. About a half hour later - I got a call back saying that the dress was being hand sewn at the designer and would be shipping Jan 27...Needless to say - I was a bit concerned with that as it only gave a 3 weeks for alternations in which I need quite a few. The shop reassured me it would be completely fine. Never really explained why is was taking so long and would give me an answer when I asked - just avoided to question. I called again on Jan 27 for shipping information and an update - Surprise Surprise - they didn't have any information but were trying to get a hold of the designer.... Everytime I spoke to them - they would literally talk over me and not allow me to say a word and just kept repeating "it's fine Its fine Its fine" No I'm sorry we will do everything we can to make sure it works...nothing. I called again to check on the dress and they said that they received an update that it was being sent out on Feb 3rd and that we could go ahead and make the alteration appt. I was very relieve! we made the appt for Feb 10th and when I asked where the dress was shipping from, they said NYC - which made sense to me as the designer is corp office out of NYC. I showed up for my appt on the 10th with shoes in hand....I walked in and the woman who was there (which I had not worked with) was like - uuummmmmm didn't Denise call you? NOON Why? She then said "you're dress is not in" I was livid, but still trying to keep it together. No call - no communication - nothing - which is the most frustrating part of all. The woman that was there - I wish I had her name was the only person at the salon that actually has some customer service skills! I received a call the next day, again blaming it on the designer that my dress did ship and would be in on the 16th - and we again made an appt - I was irritated that they didn't overnight it but again trying to get my self together knowing the dress was on its way. Dress came in - had fitting appt - talked about all alterations - I was happy! Went to pick up my dress on the 21st (4 days before my wedding) and asked to try it on after only 1 fitting and was told by Denise "oh no - you can't try it on - its all ready been pressed" I did push back a bit to be honest - I just wanted to get the damn dress and leave. Which is what I did - I picked up my $2500 wedding dress - and took it straight to a tailor - I wanted to be sure that all was good and had a feel it was not going to be. The dress was AWFUL......too small around my thighs, too loose in my waist, they put cups in without even placing them on me first - the shoulders needed to be taking up, the Hem line was obviously uneven......It was a nightmare. I ended up having to go back to the tailor 6 times in a 3 day period to get the dress to a "wearable" point...... Thank heavens for the tailor - It cost me an extra $280 put it was all worth it. again - I don't normally complain but picking up my already altered dress the day before my wedding brought on such undue stress that just didn't need to happen....and a simple "I'm sorry for this experience" could have saved this all... read more

We recently had a horrible experience with Bridals by D in Williamsville where, long story short, my mother ordered a dress for my wedding that the manufacturer had in the warehouse and when it came in it was a totally different color (bright gold vs champagne) and the dress itself didn't look like the picture. After several attempts to try and return, the owner refused to let us return the dress. She treated us very poorly and I do not want this to happen to anyone else! read more

I have gone back and forth about writing a review but I feel that it is necessary. First, I ordered both my bridesmaid dresses and my wedding gown from this shop. Both of which ended up beautiful but no thanks to this shop. My first appointment with Elaine went very and she was very sweet. A few months after my bridesmaid dresses were ordered I tried to follow up and was given a run around about the color of the dress for over two months and was promised all was fine. The bridesmaids dresses came in about 3 weeks before my wedding. I picked up one of the dresses which was in a bag and was just so excited it came in I took it home. When one of my girls took the dress out of the bag it was not the correct dress at all. I called Denise and said that there was a problem and the dresses were wrong and the first words out of her mouth were "but aren't they beautiful". She then went on to tell me the dress that I wanted did not come in the color she promised me and that this was a better dress and because I had some bigger girls in my wedding this dress would flatter them more!! Yikes! She picked out the dresses for the biggest day of my life with out consulting me at all. I was very upset because at this point my whole entire wedding was matched with this color and there was not enough time to order me a dress I liked. So Denise said that she would fix the top of the dress to match the style I wanted. I had no other choice so I said ok and thought as long as this was true I would deal with it as I didn't want any of this stress the few weeks leading up to the wedding. The girls went in to get alterations and they were being done by different people and each top looked different. I have no idea why the same person would have not worked on the 5 dresses. I will revisit bridesmaid dresses shortly. My dress came in a little over a week before my wedding. My first fitting was with Rosa and she was very sweet and seems very good at what she does. She pinned everything and did my first round of altering. At my second fitting she pinned the sides to take it in because I had lost weight and with it pinned and ready to be altered it looked amazing! The Friday before my wedding (married on Sunday) I picked up my dress and asked if I should try it on. They said no...they were also very busy, I took my dresses and headed to the hotel. hung it up and wasn't going to put it on until the last minute! I woke up at 6:00 in the morning the day of my wedding and just needed to try it on. When I did, I almost died!!!!!!!!!! THE ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF MY DRESS WAS NOT ALTERED AT ALL!!! It was 3-4 inches to big on my body and looked like a potato sack. My mother-in-laws friend brought her sewing machine, steamer etc and altered my dress just hours before I walked down the isle and it looked gorgeous. She also fixed all the bridesmaid dresses. You can find a beautiful dress anywhere, but to me it is About the customer service and this shop needs some serious help in this department as I can see from other reviews as well. Save yourself the 250.00 I lost (which I may try and get back) and go to an individual to do it for you. Sorry so long winded, but by far the worst stress to incur on your big day! read more

I had an appointment for my bridal gown at this boutique. I had heard great things about it, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I entered the store, and began browsing the bridesmaids dresses while I was waiting to be greeted. After about 5 minutes, my consultant greeted me and asked what my budget was. I told her that we would like to stay under $1000 for the dress and alterations (which I think is very do-able!). She promptly scoffed that my budget would likely not be enough, because their alterations are $250 flat fee (which seems like a lot, considering a hem and taking a dress in at other boutiques is about $100), which would leave $750 for the dress. I browsed the racks, and found a very limited selection. The gowns were beautiful, but very expensive. I only found one in my price range, and didn't like it. My consultant went upstairs to see the discontinued gowns, and came back down with a few that I tried on, even though I didn't like the styles. They even made my father stay in the front of the store because other brides were trying their dresses on. This was my 5th bridal appointment and never have I ever had to make my father (who is paying for the dress!) stay in a separate location! I thought that was ridiculous, especially since women should be responsible enough to stand behind an opening door while other people (male or female) are outside of their fitting rooms. The consultant was fairly snippy and rude, and I left feeling inadequate, and like I was poor. I would never go back there for anything ever again. Horrible customer service. read more

I walked in without an appointment(at a reasonably quiet time)-and Sandy was absolutely lovely. They were conscientious about my budget, and patient with the fact that I didn't have a really good idea of what I wanted. They were also not terribly pushy about the fact that I wasn't going to make a decision immediately, right there in the store. When I made my decision, and went to go pick up the dress, I met D, and she as just as lovely and patient as her employees. Keep in mind that this review would have gone up regardless of where I actually got my dress. Go in with an open mind, and they will definitely help you with your decision. read more

We went wedding dress shopping sometime around, we heard really good things about "Bridals by D" in Williamsville, NY, so that was the first place we went. I fell in love with the first dress I tried on. It was 2 sizes too large. I was told I could order the dress in the size I needed. The consultants assured me I could order a NEW dress in the size I needed and it would take 6 months to be made and shipped. Flash-forward 6 months to April, we went to pick up the dress and they said it had arrived the week before that, so I tried on the dress and it fit, but we noticed the ribbon to tighten the corset had brownish-yellowish stains on it, we thought it was very strange but ignored it. About 3 weeks ago we took the dress to get further alterations because I needed the dress taken in and hemmed. The (very reputable) tailor we took the dress to has 20+ years of experience and is very talented (this becomes important later). My mother (who bought the dress) got a call from our tailor yesterday saying the dress had been "previously altered". My mom called "Bridals by D" and spoke to the owner who was very disrespectful and said she had bought a "sample dress", when my mother explained that she had not been told this and none of the receipts or tags said this, the owner continued to disrespect my mother and say our tailor was crazy and didn't know what she was talking about. "Bridals by D" lied and sold us a dress that they said was new, but was really used during the 6 months (that we were told was shipping time) as a sample dress and then converted from the sample size to the size we ordered. read more
