PLEASE. You Must go. Dr. Sima gave me my life back after suffering for 28 years. I tried everything from chiropractors, acupuncture, physical therapy, botox, injections and even considered going on disability. I was desperate and couldn't take it anymore. I work full time and needed someone to help me and TRULY listen. And she did. She tested me from soup to nuts and came up with my migraine plan. I was amazed. The quality of care I receive is remarkable. SHE IS WONDERFUL. I now have "tools in my toolbox" as she puts it when I get a migraine. They have now decreased from 3 a week to 1 every two weeks or so, if I'm not on top of my triggers. I now know my triggers. The pharmacy she uses even delivers my perscriptions to my home from an hour away. I never thought this was possible. The office staff is amazing and delightful. The only reason I gave this doctor and business a one star rating, is because there was not a zero star option. Dr. Sima has been my doctor for many years now. This review speaks more towards her business practices and office staff than it does her medical expertise. I have chronic headaches that has had me to other doctors, neurologists, etc., and they too have not been able to help me much. The only thing Dr. Sima (can't spell or pronounce her last name so everyone calls her Dr. Sima) did help me with is one medicine, Rizatriptan. It's the only thing that gives me relief from these chronic headaches. She's tried a number of different things, including Botox. Again, I'm not blaming her for not healing me with this issue. But her business practices are unacceptable. Let's start with only being there on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in a work week! No back up doc, nothing. So many times in the past, I have tried getting in touch with them and literally had to wait a week or more after making multiple attempts at contact and voicemails, and then, sometimes still never hearing back from them. The most recent episode, and the one that will have me never going back to them again, is trying to get in touch with them to put me in a sleep study to find out if I have sleep apnea. I called last Monday.... no one there, or at least no one answering the phone all day long. I did not leave a message. I called Tuesday, again.... no one there and left a voicemail. Called again on Wednesday, no one there and left another voicemail. Tried again Thursday and got the same "Sorry there's no one here to take your call right now" message. So I waited and called back that following Monday. Nobody home. Finally got a return call back from a girl at the front desk and I think it was Tuesday of thatfollowing week. I basically politely berated her for the horrible service at just trying to get them to call me back. She apologized, took all the information about the sleep study and told me she would not be able to talk to Dr. Sima until the next Monday. I find it UNBELIEVABLE that there is a Doctor, who deals with people in pain, who is never available when you need her. She could so easily have an answering service that could get her these messages and she could call her patients during her off time to at least make them feel like she wants them to remain a patient. So guess what? Monday comes, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday just wrapped up, and no one ever calls me back. I am so done with them, and Dr. Sima had become nothing more than a prescription pad for me. So anyone reading this review, run and run fast! Do not put your pain in the hands of an incompetent doctor and staff. I will be going to a neurologist now to try something new, and will have all of my records transferred. It would not surprise me if I won't even be able to get in touch with them for that records transfer. Hopefully the new doctor will be able to get them. So again, stay away from Dr. Sima and her COMPLETELY incompetent office staff, and find yourself a Doctor who puts their patients first! read more

I have been going here for almost two years now and they were great at first but it seems like they don't care at all. It takes weeks to months for my prior authorizations to get any attention even if I'm calling to remind them or ask for updates. There is always an excuse. I suffer daily from migraines and headaches so you would think they would try to be more quick with helping patients. I also was NEVER told Dr. Sima is not a neurologist, WTF? I had really high hopes for the Headache Institute of NJ when I first came here - and initially, they were great, but as time went on (and not much time - 6mths) they slacked in many ways. I have been suffering from migraines all my life, but it wasn't until this past September that they become unbearable and frequent to the point I was unable to work. When I first came to the Institute, they took down my full history and did a number of tests. The vertigo test they barely even did as they concluded my ear canal was too small to get an accurate reading. At first Dr. Solaimanzadeh put me on two drugs - an anti-inflammatory and a triptan. The triptan didn't work and they subsequently tried 3 other triptans. The anti-inflammatory also stopped working. So they went to try to sign me up for botox. Additionally, they prescribed physical therapy. I am sorry to report that no triptans ever worked and when I mentioned the anti-inflammatory they tried to prescribe another one. My insurance didn't cover non-generic drugs and so my pharmacy had to send the doctor a prior authorization. This is where things all started to go south. I received 3 notices in my mail that Headache Institute did no follow up with the prior authorizations at all. I got a notice saying they reject my claim because I was on other triptans at the same time which of course was not the case as we were trying a new triptan. I also got a notice saying that the botox was rejected because when they tried to contact my doctor for more information, they never responded. Additionally when I tried to renew my anti-inflammatory, they said that they had also been trying to contact the doctor for prior authorization. So that is FOUR attempts that different places tried to contact them and they did not follow through. Additionally, after I finally went to another migraine specialist (this time board certified) and he let me know that the reason the anti-inflammatory wasn't working is because I was not taking it correctly the ENTIRE TIME. You'd think Dr. Solaimanzadeh would have caught this, but didn't. Also, he said that it was highly unlikely that I'd get approved for botox considering we had only tried one preventative and botox requires two preventatives that have failed to get approval for botox. I had originally waited over three months, strung along by Headache Institute promising me that I'd get approved this entire time. The 2nd doctor also suggested I try a different class of drugs since the triptans never seemed to work long term. So, as a headache sufferer, I cannot recommend the Headache Institute of NJ. I don't feel like they are genuinely concerned with their clients. I always felt like I had to repeat myself on my condition at every visit. I didn't feel like I ever received good treatment. While I understand that migraines may never be cured, they can be managed. It wasn't until I myself on my own accord sought out an acupuncturist and massage therapist did I get any sort of relief. read more

I have had daily headaches for several years so they are quite entrenched and I don't expect a quick fix. Dr. Sima is the first doctor to not give up on me. I have tried a neurologist and acupuncture and physical therapy (twice). So far nothing has worked but Dr. Sima keeps trying. I know eventually we will find something that helps. Dr. Sima really cares about her patients and her staff is always attentive and helpful. I highly recommend the NJ Headache Institute. read more

After seeing two Neurologists and being treated for headaches over a periods of 15 months which neither solved my problem, my family Dr. suggested I see a specialist for headaches. His office made an appointment with the New Jersey Headache Institute. I met with Doctor Sima Solaimanzadeh. Her diagnosis was, my headaches were stemming from my cervical spine. Her recommended treatment was PT. She recommended North Jersey Physical Therapy Associates. I started PT and after six or so sessions my headaches start to subside and by the last session they were gone. Dr Sima has been the only doctor who actually helped my migraines at all . I went from having migraines 3-4 times a week , to maybe twice a month. All the receptionists are extremely polite and I never have difficulty getting an appointment. I highly recommend the headache institute! read more

The New Jersey Headache Institute should be a last option for migraine sufferers, if at all. I visited the Institute suffering migraines several times per week. The doctor had stated they would perform some tests, evaluate the results, and then proceed based on those results. In practice, they performed a test, then prescribed another, then another, without providing any results, despite my requests. The insurance company sent a letter stating they would not cover the tests as they were experimental, and did not correlate with effective causation or treatment. I fought the insurance, and they paid, but the out-of-pocket costs remained high. With costs mounting, and the Institute not responsive to providing test results or doctor consultation until a battery of additional testing was completed, I opted to seek treatment at my primary care physician. It turns out I had high blood pressure, and the medication to reduce my blood pressure ended my migraines. The Institute did not check my blood pressure at any time. In a follow-up call (with a payment collector, not a doctor), the Institute stated they assume that patients have had some level of treatment prior to contacting them, and would not repeat basic testing. Additionally, they stated the patient was informed a battery of tests would be performed prior to a doctor's review, and had the written records of this advisement, but this is not what was explained to me at my initial visit. At least in this case, they skipped a simple 1 minute test in favor of program of testing that lasted a couple of weeks and cost thousands of dollars, and did not have records that accurately reflected their interactions with the client. 0 stars if possible given the cost (high) and benefit (none). read more
