Today I received 2 messages with a threatening tone demanding she know who I am. If this contact and context of her messages doesn't solidify my earlier review boy! In the 30 plus years I've been a patient I HAVE NEVER MADE A COMPLAINT. This lady is a ticking time bomb. Why does she insist on knowing who I am and then tells me not to hide!? This individual has access to my medical records and is demanding to know who I am! I hope Martinsville and Atlantic healthcare review her behavior and determine she is clearly not fit to deal with public! It's funny how she says she's been there five years and all the complaints reference this place going downhill about five years ago! Every review reads the same we used to love Martinsville family practice, and the staff but now they are extremely rude and unprofessional, really sad! I just text one bad Apple and now there's two!

I've had many mammograms in my life with in different places, and this was my first time at this location. From now on this is where I will choose to go. Everyone here was friendly and welcoming from the minute I walked in the door and I was greeted in the lobby. The space is also beautiful, safe, clean and quiet. I was the first patient of the day and there was no waiting. Everything was much more quick and smooth than I expected, and than I had experienced it any other place. As I was here, the word that came to mind is "peaceful" which is not what I was expecting to feel while getting a bunch of routine tests done. Special thank you to Julie and Sarah for making this experience so comfortable and easy.

GRWM to get my first mammogram!…read more I'm mad old - knocking on 45 and haven't had one yet. That's what medical racism and fatphobia do tho. However it was a PSA from Ananda Lewis to Black women and then my bestie who reminded me that the world is trying to kill Black women - why make it easy for them - that finally nudged me in the right direction. What I LOVED about this experience: -Steeplechase allows patients to schedule appointments without a doctor's prescription. Regular screening mammograms do not require a *referral* but many places do require a script. I went to the equivalent of a big box imaging center 2 days ago but needed a script and didn't have one. But check it - finances and time are a barrier. It's ridiculous to have patients pay to be seen by a doctor just to get a piece of paper to come get the mammogram and I wasn't doing it. In the Steeplechase model, I can make my own appt without the script and it will be up to me to send the imaging results to my doctor to have them reviewed. I'm OK with that. -It's attached to the hospital. In my experience equipment and extras like clothing, routine devices, etc. are more modern and inclusive at hospitals. -Related to the point above, bench style seating and a variety of gown sizes. -Calming, soothing environment. I'm sure there are people here getting the worst news of their lives. And others like me just trying to be a fully functioning adult. Whatever the case, it was nice to step into a quiet, clean space free from the pressures of the outside world. -Everyone was really nice - from the people working the visitor station downstairs, to the reception area inside and the medical provider who walked me through each step of the imaging. -It was pain free. I've heard these tests are awful but me and my melons were chill and handled with care. -Free parking Can I admit something? I've stayed away from this hospital since the Cullen case 2 decades ago. However, I'm glad I got over that and came here for this procedure. Not having one done has weighed on me for the better part of 5 years. Fingers crossed for the results. In the meantime, if you need one and especially if you are a woman of color and/or have a bigger body, come here! You will be treated with dignity and respect.

The doctors -…read morein my experience as a patient - were quick to prescribe a pill in the 7 minutes they will spend with you, and keep you coming in for anything you are not willing to do the work for to prevent your declining health in the first place. Don't fool yourself - this is a BUSINESS and they are in it for the money, same as any other. Sadly, the medical system in America is doing a poor job of helping individuals at the root of their problems, but in even trying to get an exemption for an out-of-network doctor this office was unwilling to do so without an in-person visit. Guess what - I'm WILLING to pay the extra $20 a visit to my out-of-network naturopathic doctor so I don't HAVE to come in for yet another fake diagnosis. I've learned how to take care of myself (and shame on you, reader, if you don't) and lowered my own blood pressure without meds, stopped eating like 'an American', and I MOVE instead of sitting on my butt all day...I suggest you do the same and stop relying on doctors who want your business - and only your business - not your good health.

In the decades since then they have meticulously cared for our family using evidenced based medicine and their trademark compassion. My mother has been under their care for as long. She has a complex geriatric profile which Dr. Lisa Scalia and her office expertly manage. Their office is expertly managed and is oft times a family affair and gives off the vibe of being part of an extended family. I have also been cared for by Dr. Khalil who managed an injury I suffered with great care. Highly recommend based on my years of professional experience with this group.

I credit her with helping me in multiple ways to be in pretty good shape as I reach 80. Office staff I have encountered ... Gloria, Brittany, Kristin ... have been welcoming, efficient, and helpful. They seemed to be moving patients quickly, so I was optimistic. They called us in at 10:04am--not terrible, BUT a doctor didn't appear in our room until almost 10:30. At this point, my 2yo is getting aggravated from sitting so long, and I actually had to stick my head out and ask when the doctor would be coming in. 5 minutes later he appears and I explain why we're here. He was nice and attentive, I will say that, BUT my son was playing on his iPad and started taking pics and videos while I was talking. I guess he excitedly showed the doctor and the doctor reaches out (what I assumed was say "cool" or whatever) and instead goes "that's illegal" and quickly deleted it. Umm buddy, he's 2, you can't seriously think he's trying to set you up. I found that SUPER AWKWARD, especially when I was sitting right there and would have gladly deleted it. Moving on, the doctor leaves to "go check the appropriate dose" of what he wants to prescribe and we wait 10 more minutes before the nurse comes back with the printout that says they submitted the e prescription at 10:54am and we are free to go. By time we're back at the car, it's after 11am, and as if that wasn't bad enough, we get to the pharmacy 20 minutes later and they have no record (which was odd as every other doctors go right through), but I said no prob I'll come back later. I circle back around 2pm and again no record. They check a little further until the pharmacist overhears and comes up to tell me SHE LEFT A VOICEMAIL FOR THE DR BECAUSE THE MED HE PRESCRIBED CAN A) BE BOUGHT OVER THE COUNTER but B) IS ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE GIVEN 1x A DAY, YET HIS SCRIPT SAID EVERY 6 HOURS FOR FIVE DAYS. She was legit concerned "he'd OD the patient" HER EXACT WORDS!!! MY 2yo SON! In short, don't waste your time. That place is a HOT mess, with no decorum. Also, the manager finally reached today, TWO days later, because they kept leaving me voicemails and texts asking for reviews, so I finally called back and went off how it's been two days, my son was still uncomfortable, no meds, I had to make a second appointment at his actual pediatrician (which is farther way), oh AND, these folks had the nerve to still charge me a copay. And of course, when the manager called she blamed it all on the pharmacist, even though she acknowledged that her provider was the one who wrote the script out wrong. In short, if you care about your loved ones, this place is DANGEROUS. Avoid at all costs!! Would give zero stars if I could.
