All you NJ Sea Hunt owners, beware!!! NJ Outboards is the worst. They had my boat for warranty issues, had no choice to bring it to them or haul it to LI or MD. The weekend prior to them picking it up, the motor went. Yes, a 2024 Yamaha f200 with 60 hrs on it went. It was filled with water. Anyway long story short, they had my boat for over a month, didn't take care of the issues that they were initially there for. And the motor took well over the 8hrs Craig Estelle, the service manager claimed it would take. it actually took over 10 days. When I get the boat back, it's all messed up. They destroyed 5 panels of sea deck, didn't do repairs, and my motor trim isn't working properly, or the gauge. To top it off Paul Gioe, the owner, blocks my emails. I sent all the managers an email demanding the repairs to be made. And Paul calls me and tells me " We are not working on your boat. You are no longer allowed to bring your boat here. We are not dealing with a Philadelphia wise guy." He also claimed the boat looked like that when they got it. And he has pictures. But he would not send me them. "I don't need to prove you anything." This is how they react when they mistreat customers property, and the customer wants it made right. Such a circus act over there. Just be careful. Yes this is my second review on the place, but I didn't take my own advice and go to Long Island or MD. read more

I purchased a 2022 Pontoon boat from NJ Outboards. On delivery day, The owners were on vacation, and a few items I thought came with the boat, weren't included. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, all were away, and their staff was unable to help correct my issues. Frustrated by this, the situation became heated to say the least. Long story short, The following day one of the owners contacted me, and ensured me that he would correct everything, and make sure I was happy with my purchase. I bought a Parker 2120 last year at the boat show. Josh was very good.. I had some issues afterwards when my seat pedastal fell off while I was underway in the ocean . It tore a puncture in the seat .. after thoroughly looking the e tire boat over , I also found some cushions needing snaps ( no big deal) and the back rest frayed or chafed . I let the service department know .. Craig called me and at first was ok but when I brought it in he pissed me off when he asked me with a half full mouth ( I was disturbing his lunch) what I wanted him to do.. Fix the damn thing!.. so after repairing the snaps and new screws in floor flange .. he said that the back rest and seat would be ordered.. well it's been over a year , so I called Linda , she had no idea who I was, after buying a damn bear 100 K boat blew me off and said it's Parker's problem.. Finally I called and got through to Parker ( Chuck Gilson) who was apologetic and sent a new seat to my home.. Nothing from NJ outboards as for my chafed back rest .. also after back and forth with Parker . i was told my boat wasn't registered with them from Nj outboards. I think it has since been . So I'm still waiting for my backrest .. and my boat is in. So I'm not going to take it out now. So the sales department is great .. the service department not so... still waiting.. of course they forgot read more

Got a response from Thomas Mazzeo that included, "My contact information is below please feel free to get in touch with me by phone or email anytime." Emailed him back with photos of the small boat I want to Re-power. Silence. Called the next day and left a voicemail message regarding my continued interest. Silence again. Now it's Friday. Godfrey specifically says in their warranty: 3. Damage caused, directly or indirectly, by or related to: a. Environmental conditions (salt, hail, freeze damage, road salt, chemicals in the atmosphere, mold, etc.) It's printed in black and white from the manufacturer. Nowhere else do they state or advertise that they have a saltwater warranty, nor do any other dealers I've found advertise that Godfrey has such a warranty. This proves my point in that everything here is an, "Oh don't worry, I'll take care of ya.", but when it comes to putting things in writing, it's an issue. I hate having to leave poor reviews, here we go...Sold us a brand new (3-4 hrs on it) pontoon with a faulty stereo system. Boat came with nicks and scratches and a ripped seat cover where the button snaps. We settled for a more expensive boat months after they gave us the run around on the initial boat, which we ordered and put a down payment on. They told us the boat we ordered would be in the last week in April 2021, and every couple of weeks would tell us they can't get an answer out of the manufacture. So the pontoon boat we have now is the one that came flawed, I think it was a demo boat. My husband called the shop and they asked us to drive the boat to them for them to look at the stereo system, um no, that's a 45 min ride. They should come to us with all the bs they put us through. By the way, don't expect the boat to be dropped in the water with a full tank of gas. Our boat had like 22 gallons on a tank that they told us was 40, well guess what its actually 61. So there's that. Unfortunately, it seems they are only in it for the money and there's no integrity. read more

Just bought a hurricane 2400 from NJ outboards when I picked up the boat it stalled we floated away to a very shallow area waited for the service department to send someone over after about an hour and a half they realized that the fuel hose was not connected should have been checked before then I make an appointment for my 20 hour service about a week out that's ok it's the busy season I went to the ramp they wanted me to go to nobody's there I wait 15 minutes then call the sent someone over (what's the sense of having an appointment) they take the boat in they tell me call on Monday a week later so I call they tell me another week and half this is for a service i get upset they tell me that they are very busy and that when the boat comes in it goes on the schedule isnt that what appointments are for why does my boat have to sit in there yard for 2 weeks before they look at it they tell me they will try to get it done by the end of the week I call on Thursday girl tells me they should have told me at least 2 weeks ask to speak to the service manager they said he's not available I leave my number no call back I would not recommend this dealer or it's service dept now I'm stuck because there are no other local dealers and I bought the extended warranty I will be reaching out to the corporate office Now the service advisor calls me back and tells me they haven't even looked at it yet read more

Purchased a 2018 Hurricane SD218 brokerage boat through NJ Outboard. All went well till delivery. They put the boat in the water gave us a very short tutorial on the boat and then said oh by the way the gas tanks empty but there's a marina a mile down river on the right. We pulled in on fumes as the 49 gallon tank took 49.5 gallons to fill. Not a good way to start the season. I was promised 20 gallons would be in the tank on delivery. They did promise to reimburse me $100 for gas (it cost $175 to fill) which I'm still waiting for. Several days later while poking around trying to learn the boat I discovered quite a bit of water in the bilge. I discovered the bilge pump wiring was disconnected for some reason. Fortunately I discovered it before the boat sank at the dock. Obviously no one went over the boat to check it out before delivery as had been promised. The bow and cockpit covers that were supposed to be included with the sale also weren't with the boat on delivery. They were delivered a week later after 2 phone calls and 2 visits to the store. If you purchase from them be sure to take your time going over things at delivery or you could find yourself floating in the Toms River with an empty gas tank. read more

First time out on the boat throttle cable was never connected stuck in the water how do use a phone charger cable to MacGyver it up to get me back. 1st time I open the Bimini top it fell apart not bolts . None of the electronics worked it took me two weeks to get into service appointment they've had the boat for three weeks lost most of the summer. Customer service is horrible read more

Nice selection of boats, sales people were great. However once you're dealing with the "business" people it's another ball game. Had a deal negotiated and a contract signed with a trade-in (well below market value) only to be told the day before the sea trial that the trade-in needed work which they wanted me to pay full "cost" on. Also was told by their GM that they needed to know since they had "another deposit" on the boat since they thought I would back out, as well as "how good a deal I was getting on the purchase price" of the boat I was buying. End of the day they killed the deal on the way to pick-up the boat with my wife and kids because I hurt the owners feelings in an email complaining about their business tactics. Also had my trade-in reviewed by a certified Merc mechanic who told me the issues with the engine were not even accurate. Tread lightly with these guys. read more

Where to begin..... By far the best sales and service I have dealt with in my years buying an owning boats. We are a family of anglers and need boats that fish well, are reliable, safe, and dry. That makes Sea Hunt a natural fit for us. I had wanted a Sea Hunt Triton for the last 25 years but could never close a deal on one. That all changed in 2018 when I was introduced to Josh W. of NJ Outboards by a mutual friend. This was after I had two other boats fall through on me where I live, which is by the way 3.5 hours away from NJ Outboards. I am on the North Shore of Eastern Long Island. I had sold my previous boat in April of 2018. My wife and I tried to buy a Sea Hunt locally. Sadly the local dealer is difficult to work with and made us feel very uncomfortable about doing business with them. After all but giving up and thinking a SH Triton was going to be a pipe dream for us we started to consider other options in 23' center consoles. We went to the NY and the Palm Beach boat show that year and looked at SH again and were really discouraged about settling for another boat. NJ Outboards (Josh W.) came through for us and even though it was hours away from home, it was well worth the buying experience. The SH has been great to us. Fast forward after the winter of 2019 there was some warranty work (real small stuff) that needed to get done. I reached out to NJ Outboards Service department. Breanne and Mary were amazing. They took care of everything. Communicated with me all the way through. The promised delivery date was met and the work that had to be performed was with great care. I cannot say enough good things about these two ladies or the service techs at NJ Outboards. Class act all the way. An absolute pleasure to work with. Honest, respectful of my concerns, and 100% trust worthy. As long as I am living in the Northeast and NJ Outboards is a Sea Hunt dealer I would not consider buying a boat from anyone or anywhere else. I have referred three others to them and one friend did buy a boat from them as well. As far as the service department goes, they are spot on. You'd be a fool to go anywhere else. read more

I would give a rating however it is that low of a rating that I can't give one. I bought a used boat from them and it needed repairs and it sat in the same spot for 6 weeks then when I complained they finally moved it out to the back. Where it sat for another week. I then asked Paul the owner for the money back and he gladly gave me my money back. I tried to keep my business local to support the local shops and it didn't work out. Oh ya one more thing the service manager had no idea what work needed to be done on the boat. Talk about no communication. I would not recommended new Jersey outboards to buy used boats there maybe new however I don't have any experience with them on a new boat. You might just want to shy away from them all together. My experience is long story, not unlike some of the terrifying reviews I read on Yelp, but I will attempt to keep it brief. I will also add, at the top, that it is very nice that various people from NJ Outboards come on sites and respond, in an attempt to save their reputation, to the horrible reviews; however, as a consumer, how many times can you read a catastrophic review followed by various "explanations" and really believe it is an isolated incident? Based on my experience, beware and be very careful dealing with these people. My nightmare begins in late April when i purchased a 2004 Sea Hunt with trailer and a 2004 Evinrude 2 stroke. Josh, my salesman, was absolutely fantastic. In fact, throughout this whole ordeal it is my suspicion and belief that he was treated like a mushroom by all others at NJ Outboards....that is to say kept in the dark and fed shit. Josh was great and the delivery date was set for right after they finished a couple items on the motor. I went out very excitedly, since this was my first boat, and purchased a boat slip for the Summer....$1400. 2 days before delivery I get a call that an issue was found on the motor and it would taken another week to have it ready. Ok, nice that they want to get it right for me so I wait. The day before the next delivery date, guess what, it's not fixed so they want to replace the O rings....another week delay!!! Another week goes by and I am so excited!! I live in Maryland and it's a long trip down for these phantom delivery dates but now the day has come. Or not. I get another, much bigger call, from Josh the day before delivery explaining that the power head on the motor is cracked!!! Based on my discussions with others in the boating world, this is something that surely should have been realized before all this time had gone by. I was nervous but given two choices: Take my money back or wait for a re-build with a re-manufactured power head. I was skeptical, until NJ Outboards told me that it would be worth the wait and that I'd have "as close to a new motor as possible" when I took delivery. I was GUARANTEED IN WRITING Which I still have as proof. that my boat would be ready, but not until JUNE 18th!!!! But hey, these guys had to know what they were doing and I was promised my boat on June 18th with a re-built motor and re-manufactured power head....with a 1 year warranty to boot!! So I thought, I have waited this long...it will be worth the wait. I hear NOTHING from them at all, with the exception of Josh, reassuring me a week or so before delivery that everything is great and the boat will be ready. Have that in writing also. The big day is finally here. We make the trip down from Maryland on June 17th to prepare for the boat. The boat slip will finally have a boat in it. The phone rings on June 17th. Mr. Schinzel, we are going to have to delay delivery, "We broke a bolt." To make the story shorter, let's just say that the pitch forks that shovel bullshit came out in full force with a barrage of explanations and promises for a delivery, yet again, the following week. 2 days later I get a call saying that part of the re-manufactured power head didn't fit and that they wanted to put a "pristine" 2005 Johnson on the boat and give it to me. No more "as close to a new engine as possible for me. Do you think, at this point, I trusted anything they said? 2 MONTHS of promises and 2 months of expenses including the boat slip, gas, tolls and various other expenses. I was so sad and so mad at the incompetence....it didn't fit. I was now dealing with Mike, a manager, who rightfully offered me my money back. I am sure they will respond to this review making it sound like they did me a great favor by offering me my money back. That was not a favor and it was also not the least you should have done. I let Mike know, in writing, that in order for me to walk away a happy customer that I felt that I deserved a PARTIAL reimbursement for all of the costs associated with their incompetence. I am a customer service manager myself and know, in today's day and age, you never want a customer to walk away with an experience like mine unhappy. So I asked for $789 to cover some of my losses associated with the above debacle. His response, great job Mike, was "$12,711 is the total that you paid with sales tax and fees that is what we will refund you." Not good, Mike, not good. I know we are all now going to hear, because I have read it on other negative reviews on Yelp, that we offered you this and we offered you that. The service department that are supposed to call you and let you know what is going on with the repair or diagnosis of your problem which you set up your appointment in the first place ! First the service managers need to all be fired ! If the owner knew what was going on in the way they treat there customers the service people who tell you on the phone we will call you back with a estimate and when you can expect your boat ! Never have I seen a more unprofessional group of incompetent lyers in my life all under one roof ! All show no go . My boat was there for 10 weeks and that's with me having to wait 2 weeks for a appointment ! They told me that they are evaluating my boat several times .I went there and checked every time not letting them know that I am at there business . The boat was never moved from the original spot from day 1 ! The worst layers i have ever s,xeen in my life ! The only decent people there are marry in parts and Chris in parts . Also A Breanna is very nice but she eventually gets caught up in passing the call to all the BS ERS ! I am in business over 40 years and I would and never treat human beings the way this business conducts there business ! Stay far away from this business for many reasons and levels of incompetent . Where to start myself and 3 of my close friends have purchased boats from NJ outboards. Collectively we have spent close to 200 thousand on vessels from 18-23 feet. The actual buying experience wasn't to bad in regards to the salesman. But once they have your deposit things turn for the worse with them. There service department is one of the worst in the industry. If you schedule a drop off for service work expect to not have your vessel for 3-4 weeks. I even scheduled a service date the year prior and my boat sat there for 2 weeks with no work getting done. We have all had similar experiences with there scheduling and service department. If you have an expected delivery date for your vessel don't hold your breath. It will be approximately 2-4 weeks late. This was also the case prior to Covid. I would recommend getting all of your service work done at another certified Yamaha dealerships. Be careful once you sign on the dotted line everything turns to crap with them as soon as you do. read more

Hi everyone, I'll keep this short-and-sweet. Do not buy from NJ outboard motors; here's why: we purchased a boat before the season with worn, but agreeable interiors. The seller gave us a lot of "perks" along with the purchase -- we were to get a newly finished interior, they'd deliver the boat, and set it up on our dock. As new boaters, we were thrilled for the help, especially being a female-only family with much to learn about boating. What we did not get, was any of those promises. The interiors, however they were treated prior to our receipt, were completely destroyed. In lieu of delivery, we were sent to a slip where the boat would go into the water and we would have to drive it home - no delivery, no set up. I urge any new boater to look elsewhere. Have a look below at the before and after photos. Once we saw the boat on the slip, we asked for a rebate towards the damaged interiors, and we were told to "wait a few weeks" and if we were unhappy, they'd give us some money towards redoing. 5 stars for great service. We bought a pontoon boat last year and for some reason we had an electrical problem this weekend. Even though our warranty was up last week the dealer picked up our boat and fixed it ( no charge ) and had it delivered back to us. This kind of service is what creates repeat business. We first met the group during the Blue Claws Boat Show and picked up our new toy last Saturday. The entire group awesome to work with.

We dealt with NJ Outboards at the Edison Boat Expo today and to say we were not impressed is putting it nicely. We have had a Sea Hunt for 13 years and love it, however, it is time to upgrade. We went with the intention to look at Sea Hunt and Carolina Skiff, saw the skiffs with Riptide Marine first and liked it a lot but still wanted to check the Sea Hunts with NJ Outboards. The first salesman we were with was helpful and we really liked the boat so we sat down to go over numbers and this is where it went downhill. Through conversation we discussed our interest in the skiffs as well but we currently have a Sea Hunt and are bit partial towards them. At this point the manager came over and caught wind of our interest in the skiffs and began to unrelentingly bash and berate both Carolina Skiff and the dealer we were working with. As he went on his temperament became increasingly hostile as he made no effort whatsoever to sell us on his Sea Hunt other than telling us we better go get back on it and look harder. After calmly saying we don't need to we saw it and have always had Sea Hunts and like them, he continued his rant by basically telling us our current boat is junk and outdated and we need to go get back on "his boat" and open some damn hatches. At this point we heard a squirrelly voice coming from the next table over, another salesman, making his attempt to interject and bash the skiffs as a make, rattling off absurd accusations such as Carolina Skiffs fall apart within three years and the hull separates from itself, there is no foam insulation in the hull, and that you will get absolutely nothing in resale value next time we go to sell. All of this while the original salesman is still sitting in front of us clearly uncomfortable in the situation with a facial expression that showed this was not the first time this guy has screwed him on a deal through his attitude toward the customer. We had heard enough at this point and said you're not getting our money got up and walked away almost baffled at what just happened. I would not recommend this dealer to anybody, anywhere. read more
