First time here. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, 2 egg rolls and got one free and some crab Rangoons. The rice was ok. It is yellow rice and I couldn't tell if it was fried or not. My husband and daughter ate the eggrolls and they said that they were good. The Rangoons were very cream cheesey and sweet didn't really taste or see any crab. The service was very nice. Everything was sugared: even the broccoli! Not worth the $$ spent. The appetizer pu pu is a bunch of overfired old meat that's chewy and tasteless (except for the sugar taste that overrides everything). The crab rangoon was the strangest crab rangoon I've ever tasted (sweet yellowish cream in a tough thick fried shell. Sesame chicken sat on broccoli that was soaking in a sweet sugary syrup. If you drive by too quickly, you can easily miss this place. My family and I stopped in for a quick meal after driving 8 hours and we were not disappointed. We walked in and ordered and the food was ready in less than 5 minutes, so no big deal if you don't call ahead. I ordered the Vegetable Mai Fun and 2 spring rolls. I am vegetarian, so this was perfect. The veggies (broccoli, mushrooms, & onion) were cooked well and also had egg. This was a good mix of carbs, protein, and vegetables. The spring rolls were super crispy and very filling (go ahead and ask for a container of duck sauce so you can dive bomb the rolls into it rather than using the packets). My dad ordered the sesame chicken and the chicken looked crispy and he said it was delicious. I will say that my portion was big enough to save half for the next day with the spring rolls. The next day, my dad had Triple Delight, which is chicken, beef, and shrimp. All of the pieces of meat were a good size and lightly sauteed. He said he could have easily had the Triple Delight both days. I reordered the spring rolls as I had Mai Fun left over from the previous day. If you are in the area and do not want traditional "fast food", this is a good option. read more

Avoid the buffets and go here. Fresh delicious food, large portions, fast service. We have gotten take out a few times from these guys and they are great. They do have a sitting area so you can eat there if you want, but we have always gotten take out. Good food, Great value! Give them a chance and I think you'll be glad you did. read more

We have gotten delivery from here before and we really enjoyed it. Tonight I tried to order delivery again, seeing how they offer that, and the man I spoke with told me that it was too far away. I map quested the driving distance while on the phone and we are 11 minutes away. He told me that was too far and asked how much I would be ordering since that was far away. I was a little offended by this and asked if I should go somewhere else and he wasn't concerned at all with keeping me as a customer, which I think is super important when running a business. The best Chinese takeout, IMO. I always order their steamed dumplings. It comes in 8 and cost less than 5 dollars. Can't beat that. I've tried so many steamed dumplings from many Chinese places in Clarksville and New King Mao has the best ones so far. I also love their fried chicken. The reason I took off one star was because of the wait time. Whenever they tell you it'll take about 10-15 minutes for your food to be ready, it's never 10-15 minutes. I learned that I should wait at least 10 more minutes after the original time given before driving to get my food. read more

We usually order take out from here, but I was told there are New Owners, And new ways of making the food. Well, I don't think we will be eating from here any more. I placed a $60 order, and it tasted like it was bought from Sams Club. No seasonings to speak of, I asked for Fried rice and got White rice, it even tasted off(Unusual) compared to normal rice you would cook at home. I asked for my dish to be #8 Spicy, and I got food that was normal salt and pepper spicy. I ordered 6 spring rolls, which you get a couple extra because of how much you order, NOPE, I got 6. I had to ask for the free side that you normally receive for ordering over $50 worth of food, then wasn't even given a choice as to which side I wanted, so I asked for General Tsao Chicken, which they gave me... it was so hard, it tastes like it was made yesterday and reheated today. Ordered 11:05 am for delivery called back at 11:45 inquiring about my order. The lady says it should be there in another 5 to 10 minutes but he's already on the road. I call back again at 12:05 she says I don't know where he is I just take delivery, but I can get you a discount. Heck no I will not take a discount l stay literally 5 min away besides if my food has been sitting in a car especially Chinese food for more than 30 minutes I know its nasty and soggy. Ordered delivery today. Guy who took my order was polite and repeated the order. Estimated time was 30 min and it arrived just like estimated. Food was super hot! So fresh! Even after serving ourselves and while eating, eat bite was still hot and not room temperature (which we loved!) Prices were low and portions were large. I order from New King Mao often and haven't had problems until recently. The prices aren't the best, but the food is usually good and delivery is fast. I was very disappointed with New King Mao when I last ordered from them. We had just arrived home from a 14 hour car ride and decided to order Chinese. I told them what I wanted to order, they read it back to me and it was correct, but when it arrived they had sent me the wrong lo mein. We called them and told them and they got mad like it was our fault the order was wrong and said they would deliver more, but it would be at least an hour. We told them that was too long to wait and asked if they could just refund it. They refused to refund it and never sent a new order. The time before that I placed my order, they read it back, then ended up calling me back a couple minutes later. They wanted to know if they could charge 26 cents to my card, because they had rang up my order wrong. I don't mind paying for the food I order, but they seriously wanted to charge 26 cents to my card for a mistake they had made. I just gave them the change when it was delivered. Needless to say, my last couple experiences haven't been great and after being a long term customer, I may be finding somewhere else to order my Chinese from. read more

It's ok. Not great, especially for the price. $17 for a plate of General Tso's chicken, 2 cans of soda and an order of crab rangoon. It was so hot in the restaurant I got my order to go, so didn't realize until I got home that I paid for a dinner portion of food but got the lunch size. Food is not anything special. The "fried rice" was just yellow rice with vegetables. General Tso's chicken wasn't spicy, and there was no dipping sauce for the crab rangoon. Probably won't go back. There is a fish tank that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. The fish inside are too big for the tank. One can barely turn around. It's sad. read more

One of the newer places in town, King Mao opened up recently as a small hole-in-the-wall operation and is often overlooked for some of Clarksville's bigger Chinese places. However, you will be pleasantly surprised all around with almost everything about it...Almost. THE GOOD: -Food quality is excellent. After being disappointing with Chopsticks, I decided to give King Mao a shot. I typically order a Chicken dish (General Tso, Orange Chicken, etc) while my fiance will typically order something else (Egg Foo Young, anything with noodles, etc) and we also typically get Crab Ragoon and Fried Dumplings. The overall meals have been some of the best versions I have seen in a Clarksville Chinese place. -Food quality is consistent, never had a issue or was missing anything. -From the few times I have gone in to pick something up, the kitchen looks fairly clean, which is always a plus in my book. They also generally keep the front clean. -Delivery does not take too long, about 20-35 minutes on average if you are close (and we are literally 3 blocks away). -As of September 2012, they will generally offer free additional things (Sides like Cheese Wontons, or even up to free meals) if you have a minimum of $20 dollars in a order and up. However...... THE BAD: -Staff can be a bit hard to understand at times and can be a bit rude if you could not understand what they said. Also hard to understand what they say on the phone on occasion. -Way too long for carry out when you are not doing delivery. The two times I went in to pick something up, people with bigger orders then ours received it first because they were dine-in. There was one group of about 5 people with a $50 order that got their entire meal before we got our measly two entree and two side order. -Delivery guy was on his phone from when he got out the car and when he was at the front door. Personally, that is a big pet peeve of mine if you are going to do delivery. Please do not do that, it is very rude. -With the free stuff, they have been a bit confusing on it. You can only get free items if you buy the dinner portion, NOT the lunch. This caused a small headache when we got it the first time with our lunch, and then the second time when we ordered the exact same thing the lady behind the counter acted confused. To be fair, it is listed on the menu that its dinner only, but still.... -Building is kind of in a hard to get to spot (Lone building in a strip mall with nothing there yet), and honestly not in the safest of places....Just saying. Overall: Great place to order from the and food has been excellent all around. Just don't do carry-out and you will be all set. read more

Best Chinese I've had in Clarksville and anywhere in the South outside of ATL. If you walk in, you may be off-put by the venue itself but don't worry about that too much. The food quality is excellent and I imagine you will carry out anyway; I've never seen anybody stay and eat there, although there are tables. I've never done the delivery nor seen anywhere on paper that they deliver but I'm pretty sure they do. read more
