I used to like this place for the clothes. I could get some good things for my daughter. They also have a good shoe selection. I would regularly find gently worn name brands in my size. Now, here's the problem, I recently went there and purchased a Louis Vuitton wallet for $15. Got home and realized the wallet was a fake. I'm very disappointed that a place like this would sell and profit off of fake knock-offs. read more

As with any thrift store, I can never find what I went in there looking for, but never leave empty handed. I've run across some good deals on furniture and clothes. Who the blank is pricing there stuff now? I went there yesterday after a few months and all the non-clothes (and some of the clothes) hard goods were priced outrageously. Everything was at least $15, including tiny knick-knacks. A falling apart piece of misc corner shelving from 40 years ago was $80. They price like they look up every piece of crap on Ebay then price $10-$50 higher. I think I'll stick to other stores. read more

They should change their name to Ebay bc thats how high they price their items, confirmed by an employee. They look up most items on Ebay and price a couple of dollars less. If you want to ask high prices then change your name to "new life boutique" or " new life antique store" Don't bother donating here either, they will inspect every item in your trunk and decline most of it. read more

Used to be a frequently visited location for me. Sad to say today was probably the last time I'll step foot into the store unless their pricing strategy changes. Charging $60 dollars for old fossil and coach handbags at a thrift is not ok. Charging $300 for an AC unit when it's not even summer time is not ok. $20 for faded glory boots, $20 for an old handbag that barely sold on eBay for $12. Appliances that are cheaper new on sale, $30 for a small hamster cage. Anything Calvin Klein or Nine West is considered "designer" and priced way up! The clothing racks are overflowing because no one is going to pay those prices for used items. They have now started tagging their better pieces with white tags that never go on sale. There was an old dresser they were trying to sell for $1000 Used to be a great place to find a deal, but unfortunately due to greed I will no longer be supporting them. read more

I have donated to this organization, and had my first experience as a consumer. This store has good options. The prices are extremely higher than other thrift stores. The staff could be a little more friendly. During my visit they were chasing after a shoplifter, who helped herself to a couple pairs of shoes. read more

This place is huge, but absurdly overpriced. Anything worth buying for $10 is $25. Seriously, half the time you can buy the same thing new for the same price. The horrid praise music just adds insult to injury. Worth checking out for furniture, that's about it. read more

I have been shopping at New Life a long time for about 10 years. I have seen great improvement in the store: cleaner, more organized. The sales also have increased to more color tags. And different color stickers for the shoe department. It can be somewhat hard to keep track of if you are not planning on spending a lot of time shopping. However it does help with the turnover. This store is ok the furniture is priced a bit high for a thrift store. The employees were nice except for 2 people a lady named Terry who got into it with a customer and the manager Tina she was so rude to me and my grandmother thanks to them I will not be returning but it is how ever a cute store. read more

Great Norman Rockwell find, the reason for the low score is I asked the woman to wrap the plates since they are extremely old. Well you would have thought I addled her to juggle them. Shopping around at New Life is so much fun. I've found some great things here at really good prices, including a suitcase for a project I had to do for my studio art foundations class my first year of college, some vintage Coca Cola glasses (got 4 of them at $1 each) and a little plastic drawer chest that will come in handy for almost anything. My favorite section is the kitchenware section--I figure I can never have too much silverware, and one day when I have my own house I hope to have a '50s inspired kitchen so it was just pure luck that I was able to find those Coca Cola glasses! I haven't really dug through the clothes, so that's my objective for my next trip there. read more

I like coming to new life mostly because of the size of their set up - way larger than any other thrift stores in the area. I recently came in to get some cheap frames for an art project and was very pleased with the selection. Would not be my first choice for hunting down great finds in the clothing dept. Their parking lot is also really terrible. That being said I once bought a cute purse there for a dollar in 2006 and still use it a ton. read more

I used to enjoy going here to hunt for interesting treasures. They do have good stuff, but after tonight, I will not be going back. Not only have prices become ridiculously high for a thrift store, the vibe has become very unpleasant. The shelves are overflowing with items and the aisles have become so narrow that navigating a cart is difficult. I think there is so much inventory because no one wants to pay their high prices. I was reprimanded for leaving my cart in place while I looked down a crowded aisle and then told not to take my cart down an aisle as I might scratch things. I couldn't do anything right. There seems to be a group of "regulars" that act very entitled. One such shopper, after hearing me ask what she thought was a stupid question, had the nerve to say a nasty comment about me within earshot to a staff person who seemed to whole heartedly and very loudly agree with her comment. I took everything out of my cart and left. read more

New life thrift store and I are like old friends from neighborhoods. I've been going here for about 15+years. I love this place for 3 reasons. I. Nostalgia, it's been the go-to thrift store for me for years so it's hard not to like it. 2. It's a very good place for knick knacks, such as books, kitchen things, etc. 3. This is a garden variety thrift store. Medium-sized, crowded and dark. I've found interesting items here, but it really took some looking. I think they'd do well to dispose of some old stock that has sat on self for years (this is true of many thrift stores). read more

It's spacious with alot of cool things like kitchen dishes, antiques, books, etc. The clothing however is outdated and a little on the pricey side. Parking...not so good. I found some pretty good deals here...overall items seem to be priced much better than places like Goodwill, so I'm surprised by the pricing complaints. There was a 50% off sale on certain color tags on my visit...not sure if it's an everyday thing or not (I went on a Tuesday). Clothing also was on sale based on the color tags. Huge, almost overwhelming selection of everything..there is stuff everywhere! The layout is funky though and because it is so cramped, it is hard to navigate around, especially when people are using the shopping carts. The Christian music isn't my thing either, but whatever. This place would probably be much better in a larger space. Also, there was free day-old bread/rolls, etc. from local nearby businesses dropped off at the front in the late afternoon which was free for the taking for everyone. read more

Always an adventure. You never know what gems you might find in this store. Something I there may inspire a great shabby chic decorating idea . I sometime find unique glad items or toys I pick up for the kids I work with. It's a hit or miss, but always a pleasure. Parking can be a bit tight at times. read more

Living in West Chester, I don't mind taking the 30-40 minute trip to this thrift shop 1-2 times a month. It may look small on the outside, but inside, it's nice a roomy. The parking lot behind the store is a tiny mess at times and it's a wonder I ever find a spot each time I go. Only one parking spot in the front for handicap people. They serve free coffee up front and they do have a vending machine (never used so not quite sure if it works).You provide baskets and even shopping carts for those who may need. The good thing is if you have too much, go back up front and they have a place where you can put it for safe keeping until your ready to go. I go here mainly for the books. It's a nice little area packed with books of different genres ranging from $1, $2, and and $5. I always get a basket full of different books to stock my shelves with and to even sell on Amazon!! I literally spend around 30-40 minutes in there because I'm afraid I might have forgotten something. The furniture section out front has some nice furniture. I wouldn't mind furnishing my place with that. They all look to be in good condition and are all up-to-date. Not much vintage or shabby pieces in my opinion. I've also checked out the kitchen section and have seen some lovely plate sets both big and small. In my opinion, you can never have enough plates. Hundreds of forks, spoons. and knifes and they even have nice little glasses. I found four cups that were green with flowers on them for only .50 cent each. this thrift shop is very expensive, only clothing is fairly priced. most bric brac, linens, electronics can be bought cheaper new at discount stores. example: two sets of curtains used 40.00 total at new life. purchased new ones at ross on senior day 29.99 and 3.00 discount; total 27.00 plus tax. also, all intimates, socks, are tagged under accessories like it is a wallet or similar and you are charged tax, clothing is not taxable in pennsylvania-i complained a few times got me no where, but this should not be allowed-not taxable in pa...the items should be under clothing. there was a time when you had trouble getting a parking space, not anymore. not a friendly place or upbeat, guess it is now all about the money. do they not get everything for free? and most of it just sits and sits and sits. read more

Obnoxious Christian Managers!!!!!! I've been a faithful donator and customer for past several years; donated hundreds of books and tons of other stuff. Recently I experienced something I never imagined..... I bought a Bissell 3-in-1 hand vacuum Model No 38B1 for $15.00 + tax. It was my 3rd vacuum cleaner from this place. After I came home, I learned it is currently sold for $19.88 on line store, and mine was missing other two attachments. So, I went back to the store because I thought it was not a fair price. When I met and explained to "Store Manger", he came along with his assistant. He took the merchandise for research. When he came back he said "At eBay store they are selling it for $39.99 and even if you buy missing parts it will be less than what it is." What?!!!!!?? I even told him that at Walmart is selling for $19.88 and now he's saying his price is from ebay so I should be happy with the price? Maybe his computer cannot access to Walmart? And he said "There is nothing I can do." And he was about to walk a way. At that moment, I heard his assistant was murmuring with a faint voice, so, I asked him "What did you say, I couldn't hear." And this assistant said "You can give us the merchandise back(as a donation) or you can take it back with you." I was so stunned! Do I look this cheap over a $15.00? For past several years, I have helped this organization, and this is happening. Oh, my Lord! So, without any hesitation, I gave them the merchandise, donated it. And I asked for their Manager, and these two young men said, "There is no manager above us." And they both walked away. It was not hard to find their manager, there was an Operational Manager on site. And I met and talked to her the problem and she promised me she will get back to me after investigating the situation. I emailed her the website where I found the price. Two days later, I received email back from her saying, "Would you resend your letter? It was inadvertently deleted this morning." If then, how she found out my email address? It was kind of odd..... So, I called her and we started talk about it, and minutes later she mentioned that "Nobody forced you to purchase the merchandise here!" I was stabbed this time. They were both Christians and this place is as they proudly saying "Non Profit Organization for the Community" What a pathetic managers....... When I shared these experiences with other people working there, they all shook their heads and said "Sorry for your experience" From now on, I don't think I will donate a thing to this place any more.... read more

I have gone here for quite a while and I find it hit or miss. There are many bargains in houswares and sometimes in furniture. I find the clothing to be a bit old style. The one area that I have a problem with is when they use computer printouts from EBay as the basis for their pricing. I saw a magazine that I knew to be worth about $5.00 to $8.00, but had an EBay printout of $15.00 (with no bids shown). When I tried to explain to the girl at the register that this was only an asking price , she didn't want to hear it. I realize that they are a charity, but go there with some idea of prices. read more

Until my last visit, I was an avid fan, supporter, and cheer leader of this store. Not anymore. If I'm not correct, the merchandise is primarily donated, right? Well, there are some clerks in this place who think they are coveting the King and Queen's crown jewels! My fiance and another party in front of us (who also happened to be African American) were harangued because the clerk had the suspicion that the tag/sticker on our items had been "tampered with." In the second case, the sticker on a pair of raggedy boots priced at an overprice of $15 was in the wrong place. In our case, the $6 (half-price) tag on a pair of men's jeans had a perforated bottom portion that had been removed. The section missing would have had the category of the item and the size. The price however was still clearly in-tact. My fiance had already paid for his items and was handed his change when the over-zealous, new guy (white, rude, and arrogant as h, e, double hockey sticks) noticed the missing section of the ticket. So the supervisor was called yet again and also took my fiance's pants "back to production" and told the clerk to refund his money, taking off the pants. Meanwhile, a sign as big as day hung overhead that read all sales final, blah, blah, blah! I explained to the supervisor how offensive this treatment was to me as a frequent shopper in this store where most of the workers recognize me, what poor examples of customer service this was, and how embarrassing this was to me, my fiance, and my teenage son who was also present. My retorts fell on the death ears of even the supervisor. I can only imagine what kind of training is given to new hires as the idiot new guy told me I could protest all I wanted, all of these proceeds go to the church. I wonder what kind of Christianity is being served up at this church! read more

This is my favorite thrift store for women's clothing and for books. Their jeans are all around $5 and I haven't shopped anywhere else for jeans since I've found this gem. My friend found 5 nice sundresses last time she went. The shoes seem to have a slower turn around compared to the clothing and it's inconvenient that they are not even roughly organized by size. The purses are awesome. I got one for $2 which I use everyday. Their book selection is insane, and I always seem to find something. All hardbacks are $2 and all paperbacks are .50c, with the fiction section being the largest. Their furniture is overpriced and you can do better on Craigslist or even Ikea. They have a bunch of huge wicker baskets up high in the room with all the dinnerware, and I got a huge oval one for $3, I think many were around that price. The kitchen stuff in general is cute. Just to be blunt, this place is awful to navigate. It can be crowded and the rows are tight. This is not the place to go if you don't like digging around for stuff.
