A Hidden Gem for Wine Lovers in Old Town…read more Stopped into Noisy Water Winery while walking around Old Town and it ended up being one of the highlights of the afternoon. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a really cool art-gallery vibe throughout the space. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time sipping wine and browsing the local artwork. The wine selection was impressive--lots of unique New Mexico wines to choose from, and the tasting flights are a great way to try several different varieties. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, offering recommendations based on what we liked and explaining the wines without making it feel intimidating. We also tried a cheese board which paired perfectly with the wine and made the whole experience feel a little extra special. Whether you're a serious wine enthusiast or just looking for a fun stop while exploring Old Town, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great wine, great vibe, and great service. I'll absolutely be back next time I'm in the area.

Plus they have a bunch of items for sales that make great gifts. Even when busy they always manage to get to everyone fairly quick. You can buy a bottle, a glass, or do one of their tastings. Mix white and red, all whites, all red, whatever you prefer, and if you want to make it a pairing, they have a menu to order food from. To make it more fun, they end each tasting with a green chile wine pour. Good wine, great service and they even have live music at times.

We had originally…read moretried to go up to to the rooftop bar (Level 5) at the newly opened Hotel Chaco, but we were told it was completely booked up there (tip: make a reservation in advance if you're looking to check out the rooftop). The very friendly hotel staff pointed us to Crafted NM instead, which is Hotel Chaco's ground-level bar. We weren't sure if we would be able to get in last minute, but we lucked out! Alec greeted us right away and set us up in a gorgeous corner of the patio. From there, the evening just got better and better. The menu at Crafted is AMAZING. There are a ton of local wines and you can opt to do a flight if you're curious. I did a port flight and loved it. I don't often see this on menus so it was a welcome surprise. Each pour in the flight was delicious and I loved getting to sample some local products. My fiancé got a glass of red from local winery Gruet, and later found out from Alec that it was a special, limited-edition wine from a partnership between Gruet and Crafted. Apparently you can't find it in stores, so this is the place to come for it! Separately, the food menu looked delicious but we held back since we were on our way to dinner (but in hindsight, should have gotten a snack). The gougères on the menu looked particularly appetizing! Thanks to Alec for being so welcoming, efficient, and pleasant to talk to.

I had the chance to visit during a Yelp Elite event, and it was the perfect introduction to a space that's equal parts art gallery, treasure hunt, and conversation starter. Each room has its own personality and theme, but the common thread is creativity--every corner invites you to slow down and take it in. From intricately designed sugar skulls to unexpected finds like that perfect bottle of wine or a gift for the "impossible-to-shop-for" person, the Lapis Room makes browsing feel intentional and fun. It's the kind of place where you walk in thinking you'll just look around--and leave with something you didn't even know you needed. The Yelp Elite event added an extra layer of energy, with people exploring, connecting, and sharing in the discovery of the space. It felt less like a retail stop and more like being let in on a local secret. Whether you're a local or just spending time in Old Town, carve out time for the Lapis Room. It's not just shopping--it's an experience worth having.

I had been looking for the perfect gift for my son and his girlfriend for quite a while. When I saw that vase in the window I was so drawn to it. When I went into the gallery and met Suzanne she told me about the vase and Ira, and gave me space to get to know the vase. When I did decide that I had to buy it for my son and his girlfriend Suzanne agreed to ship it for me, but that's not all. She even wrote a very personal letter to them telling them about Ira and his background, and how the vase was made. Fortunately it arrived in San Francisco unbroken and they were delighted. Thank you Suzanne for making the whole experience so wonderful. I will come to see you whenever I am in Albuquerque.

Suzanne, the gallery's director, was nice, assertive but not overbearing, and incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. There were some nice pieces from a variety of artists, but we were completely taken by Virgil Ortiz, and ended up buying two of his large pieces. Given the gallery's modern focus with local artists, it's likely we'll be finding more pieces in the future. Definitely give this place a visit if you're in the area and interested in art.
