Easy location in the UNM area. Good whiskey selection with knowledgeable employees who are always willing to answer questions and help you find what you are looking for. The staff also makes great suggestions. The wine selection is solid. Was able to find a Rodney Strong Alexander's Crown Cab Sauv that we really enjoy and is pretty elusive in Albuquerque. I went to jubilation the other day and asked for a Kim Crawford wine. A man immediately started yelling at me that they don't sell Kim Crawford because it's a big box wine sold by evil constellation brands and then went on a condescending scree about big box wineries. Then said "you should just go to smiths." A few points: 1 how about instead of yelling about how you don't sell Kim Crawford because it's a sell out wine- ask "can I show you some other Sauvignon blancs you might like." 2 you sell Josh wines and bota boxes, why don't you get off your high horse about "big box" wines 3 my uncle works for constellation for years...that was a little rude Anyways, don't come here if you aren't prepared for a weird man to scream and yell at you. read more

The selection at Jubilation is amazing. They have a huge selection of finer wines, craft beers, and local liquors. If you are looking for a gift for someone with discerning tastes or want something special for yourself, this is definitely the place to go. What really sets Jubilation apart is the fact that they have miniatures for the local liquors, which I haven't seen elsewhere. It's been really cool to discover new stuff and support local businesses. Plus then it seems like we are super on trend and in the know when we give the gift of a local, amazing liquor that someone hasn't tried before. The only negative here is that they seem a little too pushy here. It's almost to the point where you feel like they might be watching to see if you steal something as opposed to trying to help you. This place has gone downhill. It's not my favorite place for liquor, but my ex's. Recently, we stopped by, because she was visiting. From the moment we stepped into into the store, we were watched like a hawk. Mind you, we are not suspicious characters. We are both well mannered, clean, middle-aged, and responsible individuals with graduate level degrees. Nonetheless, we were treated like we were about to run out of the store, chugging the liquor as we went, lol. This location has a good selection of liquor, but no one wants to be treated like a criminal on a friday afternoon, especially when they aren't. read more

I always love stopping in to Jubilation to see what's new in their store. The staff is always extremely helpful and very willing to assist you in finding the right spirits, beer or wine of your choice. They're very knowledgeable and very professional. I stopped in this time to see if they had any more pumpkin beers, sadly they did not. They had a pallet full of Christmas beer, so I bought three six packs! We contacted jubilation and spoke to employee Zach, we asked him for a specific price quote on Bulleit Bourbon. He quoted us that it was around $20 so $6 cheaper than total wine. upon coming to their local establishment it was in fact 32.99. WE kindly spoke to Zach and confirmed the quote but pointed out the price difference from what was given. He acknowledged he made an error. So in an attempt to correct their employee error we spoke to manager Ben. Ben was abrupt and was not willing to acknowledge that his employee made and error and made NO attempt to correct it. Since we traveled from another location to get the item quoted and it was incorrect, We asked if they could apply our discount for being wine members or price match the item mis quoted. Ben the manager who you would think want to hold their word to customer and let alone Monthly Members said NO. Since they did not hold up their word to their customers we left their establishment and returned to Total Wine. It's sad to say a local establishment can't hold up their end. I'm grateful Zach admitted to his wrong but management did nothing to rectify the situation. Because of Ben the MANAGER we will not be continuing our wine membership and going else where for our items. read more

Wonderful gem of a liquor store staffed by friendly folks. Plenty of parking in the attached lot. I had hoped for a greater representation of local booze outside of craft beers, and didn't even get around to their wine section, but I walked away more than satisfied with their selection of bourbon, scotch, and whiskey. You won't find everything you're looking for, but their alternatives are on point. Pricing is competitive when not on par with my hometown. Akashi and Old Potrero fit the bill, but at least half a dozen other bottles caught my eye along the way. read more

I can't believe I have been going to Jubilation for so long and not reviewed this place. Time to fix that. First of all. I like to call this place Jubulation. Mainly to piss of my wife. Try it with your spouse. It works... :) But besides that, Jubilation has a great selection of beers, wines and liquors. Seriously. When they say they carry fine wines and alcohols, they really do. This is one of the premier liquor stores in ABQ. I've shopped here and other places quite a bit. Yeah, there are other stores that are larger and have huge selections. Jubilation has a very nice selection too, but they bypass all the crap and just get you right to the good stuff. And the staff are so knowledgable. They can help you pick out the perfect...whatever...for your event or taste. Seriously, these guys know their stuff. I've also been here for several tastings as part of ABQ beer week or others events. Jubilation does a great job of bringing in new suppliers to introduce us to new things. "Jubulation" is my go-to for serious quality alcohol. It'll be yours too. read more

It's that "Old Fashioned" time of year again and these guys have it goin' on! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. If you need a good opinion on Rye vs regular Bourbon and which is best in an Old Fashioned, check! They got your 6! It's just nice and refreshing to get intelligent input and superior inventory under one roof, yet that independent vibe. This ain't your ordinary run of the mill corner liquor store selling cheap smokes and cheap booze. You won't feel the need to take a shower immediately after leaving. Check em' out! Jubilation has a great selection of bourbon. On a recent visit, they had three varieties of Colonel E.H. Taylor, Stagg Jr., Eagle Rare, W.L. Weller Special Reserve, and Bourye, all of which I have trouble finding at home. The staff is also very knowledgeable and helpful. read more

This place makes me feel like a fat kid in a candy store. Even though it's taken us a couple of years to finally make a trip here, we'll be back again soon to try more of the vast selection of wines/beers/hard alcohol they provide. Signs of a great booze shop: 1. Running into Clayton, a fellow Elite, who has a great palate (alcoholic beverages included). This is the guy who has mastered holding his newborn AND a glass of champagne with ONE ARM, so you know he means business. 2. Numerous rooms for different types of alcohol. They have a separate room for international wines, domestic wines, clearly marked sections for scotch, sake, tequila, etc. It's pretty epic. 3. Alcohol, alcohol, alcohol. That's all they sell, with the occasional mixers and other miscellaneous drinking accessories. But if they focus on booze only, like Jubilation does, it's a good sign for a successful mission for booze. 4. Variety. Jubilation has so many different kinds/brands of each type of alcohol that if you aren't looking for anything specific, you could spend a lot of time there. But I'm happy to know that there are so many different selections to choose from and I'm always interested in trying something new! If you're new to Albuquerque and want to find a place similar to Bevmo, or just looking for a great place to buy alcohol in general, this is it! This is the best store ever. No lie. So much beer. So much liquor. So much wine. It's really an adult candy store. Billy Bonka's Booze Bonanza. That's what I'd call it. I can spend 15 minutes pacing back and forth looking at all the beers and always make my final decision with some anxiety thinking that there's some other delicious concoction that I'm not buying and thus missing out on. Or, I do what has been more typical of me lately and walk out of the store with a shipping box filled with beers. And about $50-60 less in my wallet or bank account. In all seriousness, the mix of European and other foreign beers coupled with a superb craft beer selection make this one of the best liquor stores I've ever been in. The same surely goes for the liquor and wine and I have found some great bottles here, but as one might surmise, beer's more my thing. I should also note that the prices here are completely reasonable and in line with what you'd find at Quarter's, Sunflower/Sprout or Trader Joe's. read more

Yelp's user guidelines stipulate that I note I was once an employee of this joint during my college years. It was a decent job, flexible. On occasion I was treated to a mid-afternoon wine tasting, which always made for an interesting shift, and I learned me a lil' sumpin' about the finer points of booze I still cannot afford to buy. Good gig, and it doesn't tarnish this review, promise. Over the years I've never found an establishment in this city that can provide the breadth of product selection and knowledgeable staffing Jubilation encompasses in spades. Simply put, get your drink here. Doesn't matter what you're into, at Jubilation you'll find the finest aged Irish whiskey, Kentucky bourbon, Rhone varietals and Portland brews. The number one rule here: ask questions. The folks behind the counter will definitely help you navigate the endless aisles of liquid delights to deliver gold. A final note: We stocked our wedding bar with Jubilation choices. John and Carol helped us determine the best wines at a fair cost. It was certainly fun to get a group of friends together to taste the final selections before the big day, and I highly recommend you do the same for whatever function you fancy. read more

This place is awesome for the, ahem, spirits enthusiast. Whatever you want, they'll have something in that arena. I'm not saying they'll have the fanciest, rarest wine, or some beer that is only made in Scotland and goes for $100/bottle, but they have a lot of really good products here. What I really like about this place is that the staff is very knowledgeable. I've come in here more than once with questions about beer (a passion of mine) and these guys always point me to something new and interesting. Superb shop. Love it, love the staff. It's family owned, which is even better, in my mind. As soon as I arrived in ABQ I went searching for a wine supplier. I drink a lot of wine. I just moved here from France; I was in need. Now the shop boys know me. They probably think I'm a drunk. Oh well. They've got a great mix here; enough French, Spanish, and Italian wines to keep me in table wine for a while and some good new world stuff as well. Some great champagne and cava selections...and a fairly extensive booze selection (I can get my Hendrick's gin fix here). They have wine tastings every so often, the staff actually know what they're talking about and seem to LOVE wine, and they offer a 12% discount if you buy a case (and the cases can be mixed cases). Like previous reviewer Kate, I have always been a little troubled that Jubilation seems to only hire men. Someone who used to work there told me that this was entirely intentional, that the owners refused to hire females! Not cool. I myself enjoy a nice gender mix anywhere I frequent. But I gotta put it out there, Jubilation currently employs a female! It's like a Christmas miracle (honestly, she's been there awhile, but I've been on the hunt for Christmas miracles)! And she's just as awesome and knowledgeable as her coworkers! Kudos to you, Jubi, for retiring your bizarre, antiquated, misogynistic hiring practices! While the selection of this "fine wines and spirits" store seems very extensive, what impressed me the most was the quality of personal service I received. Not knowing a great deal about wines, I wanted to buy three different bottles of wine for an ABQ oenophile. I had only a general idea of the types of wines that might be appreciated, but the exceptionally helpful clerk left the counter and spent about ten minutes pulling out the wines that, in his experience, have been best-liked by other customers. I chose three from his culling of six different wines. And the proof was in the recipient's reactions, for he went out of his way to praise my good taste in wines (which, truth be told, was not my taste, but the guidance I received from Jubilation). If you don't know a whole lot about wines or spirits and want to find something that fits your needs, my experience suggests that this friendly and well-stock place is where you should go in ABQ. I've only been to this place once, but I felt compelled to write a review because the staff went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. I went there because I wanted a Grand Marnier gift set for you husband for his Bday. As soon as I walked in the door, I was immediately greeted with warm smiles and welcomes. They asked if I had anything particular that I was looking to find so I told them. They then pointed me towards 2 different Grand Mariers and the one I chose was in a really cool keepsake tin. They actually asked if I wanted to take home some of the extra tins because they had been delivered and they were strictly extras. So I said "Hell Yes!" and got to take home a couple of memorabilia grand marnier tins that we can use! I thought the service here was really good and I'll definitely be back! read more

I don't drink, but my husband is a beer enthusiast so I am in here a lot. I may not drink but I still have questions about things and these employees are ready to answer any question! The selection of beer and wine is enormous! This store offers personal service for anything you are looking for. I have gone in when I need a bottle of wine for a friend or dinner. I can tell the person little things about what it is or who it is for and I am helped to find perfect bottle of wine for the occasion or the person. My husband likes that he can go in and describe a beer he had, but not remember the name and it can be found! Jubilation can be beat. Great people, great customer service and excellent product! Hands down the best liquor store in the Albuquerque Metro Area. Their selection of fine liquor and good beer is peerless but more importantly, to me, their staff is very knowledgeable and happy to discuss the products in detail. They also never push the expensive stuff, instead you tell them what you are looking for in general and they will help you find it as well as share their honest opinion. I get zero attitude here, which is important to me. Too often in a good liquor store when asking for advice the workers have a sort of snooty "I know so much more than you" attitude and that simply doesn't exist in this store. They treat me with equal respect whether I'm looking to buy a case of generic beer for an outdoor BBQ or a top shelf" vodka for a fancy cocktail party. Now, I live three blocks from the place. However I'm not overly gushing about it; my friends and family who live on the opposite side of the city will drive all the way over to Nob Hill just to visit Jubilation because of their selection and expertise. I've been told they have a good wine selection and host excellent wine tastings, though as I don't drink wine I can't attest to this personally. read more

Definitely the best wine/liquor store I have encountered in Albuquerque. This store deserves 5 stars for being the only liquor store in town (seemingly) to carry Prosecco. In fact, they are the only liquor store I have been to in this city to even know what Prosecco is! Nice staff, nice selection. They have a very nice selection of booze. I wanted a little bottle of sake, and they had some good stuff--even some shochu, which I was tempted to try but too big a bottle for one person. There isn't a big selection of anything except whiskey, but everything seems carefully chosen to make the most of the space they had. This is the opposite of Total Wine, who seems to have everything, both good and bad. If you want to try something you don't know about, I'd say this would be the place to go--even the affordable choices seemed like decent stuff. read more
