When we were exploring local options, we knew our decision would be based on where we felt he would be 1) safe, 2) healthy and 3) loved. Everywhere we toured, we felt like he'd be safe and healthy. What set Two By Two apart was that we felt like he'd would be cared for by professionals who created genuine, authentic connections - as aunties, as kin. He was so little and our care priorities were more about him feeling seen, heard and addressed. Now that he's approaching Kindergarten, he's getting the same care while also getting support with socialization, learning emotional regulation, and the basics of academics (letter and number recognition, phonics). He has a group of close friends, uses feeling statements and is reading sight words and writing his name. All huge wins without robotic structure or impersonal instruction- which while inevitable in our school systems can wait until the elementary years. Two By Two continues to make progress in communication, family engagement and facilities. We've seen growth here and have been grateful for their request for feedback and impressed to see it implemented. This school was truly exceptional for us. They are on top of everything and the environment was just perfect for my child. The director told me "give us a month and everything will change" It really did! my son just loves it there and he flourished dramatically within his first month. They care immensely for the children esp Corrie the director. She treats each and everyone of the kids there like family. This school encourages a sense of independence and inquisitiveness in its students, and has engaged and delighted my daughter since day 1. As a parent-run cooperative, parents are much more involved with the school and each other than is probably typical. The Bright Horizons administration and app are terrific and make life easy for everyone! The daily notes detailing eating/bathroom time/activities are so helpful, and the pictures/videos are something we look forward to seeing every day. Heather, Alana and every person we've interacted with at the River School are all true professionals that care deeply. My wife and I both work in the city (at least pre-pandemic), so the dependable childcare that TLE Paramus has provided has been very important. We have seen incredible, consistent emotional, social, and intellectual growth by my son over the past two years, which undoubtedly is due to the rich learning environment that TLE Paramus provides.
