Staff was friendly even though there was a bit of a language barrier with some staff members. This is for getting all those knots and sore spots out and not for a spa session. DO NOT GO HERE! I received a 30-min foot massage and paid around $48.92 ($40 plus 8 for tip) for it with tip, but the final charge to my card was $57. They literally changed the tip line to add an extra $10 tip. Yes, they tried to charge a $18 tip on a $40 30-min foot massage. I've contacted my bank. TIP: Please call beforehand to make an appointment! --Typical Asian massage establishment that you can find all over the west coast. Not many in this area but this is the ONE if that's what you're looking for. Well curated routine style massages-- The location is in a strip center (not weird at all--where I'm from this is the norm) and the name of the business simply reads: "MASSAGE" It's in a convenient location with a parking lot and with a good a amount of parking The interior is a little dated but clean. Upon entering, you'll see the counter directly in front of you with transparent price listings and a small seating area to the right. The large windows bring in natural lighting while the darker decor helps to create a relaxing ambiance. The smell is really nice... aromatherapy scents filled the air. 3 rooms with large curtain entries line the left side of the room with an open space on the right side for 2 massage chairs. I didn't see a public restroom. When we arrived, the space was quiet and empty. The manager? popped out of one of the room and greeted us and offered us water. Later, we were led to a room with 2 massage tables inside. One of the masseuse gave us directions on what to do: remove clothing except our underwear, lay on the table facing down with the towel over our bodies. Hooks and a small plastic bin was available to hang purses and store our clothing and shoes. And don't be alarmed by the fact that the walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling and that the doors are just curtains. You will be laying down most of the time, eyes covered, ambient music and scents and won't even notice them. We requested for a 60min back+foot massage. Total price to be $70 each. We probably got about 50minutes as they were running a little behind schedule, BUT they did such an excellent job that it was hard to complain while there. They were just really busy Anyways, we asked for HARD pressure and they delivered!! It was about 30min of back massage and 20min foot massage. A small annoyance was the fact that they used a large towel to cover our bodies while massaging us. The initial warm up massage, they did it over the towel so it felt a bit like a rug burn effect. I'm used to a thinner sheet at other places so the towel was a bit different. Also, the towel didn't cover all the way down to my lower legs and feet so I felt just slightly exposed... I'm 5'6", so for taller people, that experience might be something to consider. The oil massage was excellent! My guy did great to work out some knots, using his hands and forearm and elbows. He worked on legs, butt, shoulder, neck and ALL areas of the back. He was polite when using the hot stones, checking to make sure they aren't too hot. The foot massage almost put me to sleep! I have had my eye on this place for a long time, but never made an appointment. My big mistake. This place, namely Linda, gave me the most amazing massage I've ever had. This 60 pound soaking wet woman, kneaded and rolled my muscles in ways that I didn't know were possible. The strength in her hands is mind boggling. She asked me where I was sore, and concentrated on exactly those spots for 60 minutes and then spent the remainder of my time on my feet and legs. Praise Be! Lighting and Temperature was perfect. I see Jeff at the New Oriental Massage and he is a master at traditional Chinese massage techniques, including reflexology, acupressure, and precision point pressing. He really helps with my hypertension. The establishment is clean, quiet, and relaxing. Very reasonable prices and they appear to be very busy both times I visited so I would make an appointment ahead of time. I have been a long-time customer at New Oriental, and have great things to say about them. The therapists are thorough and kind. They check in with you to see if the pressure is enough, they make sure to focus on your problem areas, and they are always very sweet. I appreciate their pricing scale, and they offer a "buy 9//get 1 free" punch card. I have come in with my partner for a couple's massage, and that was lovely, too. My only complaint is that if the phone rings during your massage, they will often pause to answer it. It takes my mind out of the relaxed state that I'm in, which isn't ideal. Aside from that, nothing negative to say! You also don't usually need an appointment; I typically just walk in. Sometimes I have to wait a bit, but that's okay with me. Give them a try! read more

I was a long time member of Massage Envy in Golden Valley. I decided to try this place out as an alternative because every time I left Massage Envy I felt like I didn't get my money's worth and they are expensive. I am so very glad I did. The massage actually helps areas for me of concern, unlike Massage Envy. Firm means firm and they will even walk on your back. I read the other review where the customers sensed the staff was racist and that is extremely unfortunate if true. There's no room for racism, especially against black people when it's pretty well known that all of us are out of Africa and simply adapted to a different environment. read more
